As a previous owner of a 2011 F-150 3.5L V6 Gen 1 Ecoboost and a current owner of a 2020 RAM 1500 V8 5.7L eTorque, the Ford fuel economy numbers are inflated. With gentle gas pedal application, I can get close to the claimed RAM gas mileage but did not get close to the claimed Ford gas mileage. With the Ford power output it's either Eco or Boost, like and on off switch. The RAM on the other hand has buttery smooth power transition from a dead stop to speeding ticket speeds. Plus the Hemi V8 rumble and roar which is addictive. Advantage RAM in my opinion.

The mild hybrid eTorque on my RAM 1500 5.7L Hemi adds bottom end torque (but doesn't change peak torque figure), makes shifting seamless by matching engine and transmission rpm, smooths stop start, replaces and thus saves wear on the 12V starter during stop start (12V starter only used during cold start up), replaces the alternator to charge the 12V battery, keeps the V8 in 4 cylinder mode longer for improved efficiency, and slightly improves fuel economy with "free" regenerative energy from both braking and downshifting. Love my RAM. Highly recommended! Down side is two battery systems, a 48V eTorque system on top of a legacy 12V system for added complexity. If either or both systems fail, you could be stranded, although I am fairly confident that warning lights would allow you to limp to the dealership before total failure. The good thing is that the eTorque motor is a very accessible engine external bolt-on device with an external belt that looks like it could be swapped out in 30 minutes. The 12V battery is easily accessible in the engine bay and the 48V battery is tucked away behind the rear driver's side seat back. Overall a great application of mild hybrid technology.

Personally, one of the big reasons I like the Chevy is that you can get the Trail Boss package on all the trucks from the Custom all the way up to the LTZ. So, you can get the lift and nice wheel/tire combo on ANY level truck. That makes even a base Chevy into a great looking, and very capable truck. Most guys buy a truck, then spend 6 thousand for a lift and bigger tires. Chevy does the work for you, and it looks great. You can pick up a Custom Trail Boss pretty cheap.

I tested all three and ended up with the Silverado RST. Same model you have on here, just with cloth seats instead of vinyl. I was open to all three, but ultimately just felt most comfortable in the Chevy.
Word to the wise. The chip shortage is a serious problem. All dealers I went to have a $5000.00 mark up due to inventory shortages. I still paid under MSRP, but not much under. Considering the time we're in, I think I got a great deal.

If Ram were to up the horse power it would be very interesting against the Ford. GM has the 6.2 and 10 speed but GM keeps giving the 5.3 the 8 speed in most of its trim levels. If the Ford comes back with some of its black out packages that will be big for them. The fact that you get the top motor in every trim from Ford is huge.

Nothing wrong with super simple and low tech interior of the Chevy that some prefer. Something definately wrong thinking you can charge as much money as the Ram and Ford though. They need to knock that truck price down a few thousand if you're not going for the premium interior crowd. Price needs to reflect what you get and they are not on par with the other two by a long shot.

I just got a ram 1500 Big Horn/lone star, w/sport package. I opted for the quad cab, because I already have a Chevy Silverado 2500 Duramax diesel with a long box and a crew cab that’s pretty long and I often find myself wishing I had a shorter truck. But driving it for two months now I found that there’s not as much space back there as I thought there would be. The camera technology is nowhere near as good as my 21 Silverado, but in Rams defense my Silverado is an LTZ with all options, and with a price tag of upwards of 90,000 it should have all those options as well. I got the ram for almost 10,000 under MSRP out of Ohio, I’ve got over 6000 miles on it in less than two months and I’ve had no problems at all. Well I take it back I had a problem with the Uconnect system the sound from my CarPlay was changing volume on its own so I had to unhook the battery for 10 minutes when I hooked it back up the computer reprogrammed for a basic truck and nothing worked, it didn’t even know I had serious exam. For about a day and a half and then it finally picked up a signal and re-programmed it so all the things worked again. The other thing that I don’t like about the ram is the fact it doesn’t have a bedliner, or a sprayed in liner. I bought bed liner spray, but after trying it out on a small piece of metal in the shop it dries completely smooth and I want something with a little grit in it. Otherwise the quad cab is faster than the other models I average about 14.6 miles per gallon, I think the best I’ve ever seen was an average of 16.5, and that’s when I had a state trooper in front of me for a very long stretch of interstate . Otherwise with your foot in the carb or intake manifold in this case it definitely sucks the gas. So I’m glad I opted for the 5 gallon additional tank size. I do love the Silverado‘s but since ram was rated truck of the year now for three years and I got it for an incredible deal , well I thought I did but turns out I’m finding lots of Rams for the same price I got mine about I’m different lots here in Wisconsin. It’s just all these trucks hold their value so well that all the Silverado‘s I was finding they wanted 46,004 and wouldn’t budge on the price for more and they were a year old and I had over 20,000 miles on them , lacking the warranty I would get. So that also helped me go with the ram. The ram has 100,000 mile, or 5 year warranty, A three-year free maintenance package, if I want to drive it to Ohio every time I want an oil change. Lol but I do love the sound of the hemi V8. The Silverado diesel I have just sucks too much gas or diesel rather, to the tune of about $500 a week. But I do have a 40 foot fifth wheel camper, and some larger flatbed car haulers equipment haulers. And you can’t beat the 36,000 pound twin capacity of a Duramax diesel, and having all the options like leather and all the preferred packages makes it just a nice talk to drive around in as well. I’ve always been a savvy guy, and since these trucks do holder value so well maybe I can trade it in before it hits 50,000 miles and get a brand new Chevy to try it out and see if it’s just as good as the ram. I bet you it will at least come with a bedliner lol

In 2021, ford changed the tow package line up. For the 2021s the 5.0 v8 gets the max tow package option. In the 2018-2020 it was an option for both the 5.0 and 3.5. The other difference is that for 2021, ford increased the power output on the 3.5 and 5.0 engines.
