      Hey, Siddhant Karnick! Thanks for the awesome comment!
      Started watching the movie you did on the trans gender relationship. Progressive, avantgarde, dig it! Have to finish it soon! Pls continue to move culture that way! It's a very good thing!

      And thank you for watching my work.. Usually TV here is very regressive but once in awhile you do come across some good content..and that was th intent of doing that episode.
      It's what I'm trying to do on TH-cam as well.. Will get there.. For now just getting the hang of all the technical stuff involved

    Terrific comparison. You inspired me to start making videos about my M3 to help people out, the way you helped me when I was first looking into it. Been staring at the M6 for a while for all the reasons you mentioned at the end, in order to upgrade and sell off the M3. So tempting. Thanks again!

    Great video! Awesome that in contrast to most videos you show real world situations faced when actually using the camera. Rather than just talk about the specs. Have been thinking to upgrade to this camera (EOS M6) for my science vlogging. For sure am going to upgade now.

      Totally agree! What you could get out of a 70 or 80D, you now can get out of this little awesome thing! Doesn*t really how that much in the video, but I am quite amazed by this camera.:)

    Und Du hast bei der Affenhitze wirklich super performt!

    P.S. Freue mich auf den von Dir versprochenen VLOGGING Settings für die M6 Video :-)

      TubeNoob I got a G85. Exceptional camera and I haven't even used 4K yet. I'm able to get a very flat picture profile using CinelikeD with saturation, contrast and sharpness set to -5, shadows +5 and highlights -5. After colour grading the result I get is so much better than I could ever get from Canon APSC. The only shortfall is continuous AF tracking in video, but there's a manual focus mode where you can select the focus point using the touchscreen and it locks. Work fine.

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds real good! The Panasonic video features I love since the G7. Supreme image quality these cams can get us. AF...a problem.....but...I heard a couple of times now, that using touch focus in many occasions works better even than face tracking. Might Have to give that another test or two...Greetings!.

    Hi Mark. That was an awesome review. So thorough and helpful. Obviously I already have the M6, and I couldn't be happier. It's a great camera. Great job! Btw, I just got an Edutige 008. What a magical little thing! Love it.

      Thanks so much:) Love to hear it! It's really an awesome cam canon came up with. I am pretty impressed with it actually, that probably didn't shine through all that much during the review, but I am.
      Oh yes, the ETM 008 is another great piece of tech, edutige really did a great job with it, and the wind protection via foam and micro deadcat is pretty good as well....

      Hey, Gina from Korea! Yeah, in my opinion it pretty much comes down to dual pixel AF and 1080p60....that's what one pays extra for with the M6. The rest isn't really that much of an improvement in my opinion. Greetings:)

    Hello from the future :)) I'm thinking about vlogging and looking for good stuff for low price. And M6 / M3 starting to show up used on ebay for really good prices !!! so I watched about 10 different comparison videos on yt. and your one is the best ! ! ! You do it sooo calmly, detailed, and... Man - what a great comparison - nice work.
    I'm buying the Eos M3, since the price is half, and it's all i can justify, since i don't make any real money from the videos i make.
    For the shots i do, which are mostly on tripod, and with manual settings, the M3 seems to be fine. But damn - the preamp in the M3 must really SUUUUCK compared to the preamp in the M6.
    The M3 sounded really "tinny" compared to the M6 - like NO bass or fullness, even with the external microphones. Did you do any equalization in post? Was hoping to avoid the whole hassle of using my zoom H4N and syncing in post, but if that is the best sound one can expect, i guess i'm stuck with an external recorder - what a bummer.

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. Peter! Thanks a lot for the nice comment:) Much appreciated!
      The zoom will beat anything I hooked up to the camera in this video for sure. If you don*t need to see the selfie screen, since you do a lot of manual focus, of course a nicer mic is always an option. Videomic Pro from rode, the lenshopper vp83 and so on....
      I normalized, that*s it....
      More questions? Just ask...
      Greetings!

    This video has a lot of help to me !I've been waiting for this contrast for a long time!!! Nice video! But i'm still trying to figure out whether to buy M6 or 800D(T7I). Can you give me a better idea?

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, thanks for the nice comment!
      If you want to vlog: M6. Same sensor, better AF.
      If you also want to do a lot of stills: The T7i, having a tilt svivel screen and an eye level viewfinder will be better suited to that.
      Form factor wise I have to give it to the M6 of course.
      What exactly do you want to do with either of those cameras?
      Greetings!

    You packaged this video very well. I have a M3 now and I shoot in manual because of how poor the auto focus is. I think I'll going to do Judy what you said and sell my m3 and hey the 6. Unless I find that cool adapter you had to make to videos at once.

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without 4k it is too expensive I would say, but the form factor is better with the M50, no hassle putting a mic on because the screen flips out to the side.....

    Ok, I've been waiting for this review for a while now. I have noted before on your videos that I was seriously disappointed in the auto focus of the M3, especially with my 22mm lens. But I have learned to deal with it because I loved the image quality and convenience so much. And yes I know many people are switching from Canon and heading over to Sony, but I just don't like the image from any Sony camera -- too sharp and looks so artificial. But anyway, I'm dropping my M3 too and will upgrade to M6 as well. That Dual Pixel makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE. I do still like the image "look" of the M3 versus the M6, but that can be fixed in post. Great review and I'm convinced as well, the M6 is the way to go for vloggers.

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, Beempa Family Fun! Nice to hear from you again:) Thanks for writing such a nice comment! Much appreciated!
      Yeah..sonys...mh....divas...:)) (when it comes to video)....at least in any normal price range:) Of course if we're talking a7rii......but if I want internal 4k and crazy fast AF without a flip screen, I will just go for my galaxy s7 edge:)))
      Definitely the dual pixel is the selling point here, still think the price point on the m6 is a little high...then again...it is a pretty good cam.
      Greetings!

    • @Beempa
      @Beempa 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, the price point on M6 is a bit high. Would love to see you compare the M6 vs the T7i... I've seen other reviews, but nobody does them as thorough as you do in *real* world shooting conditions, such as run and gun, etc. So the reviews I've seen on the T7i are mostly weak.

    Thanks for the video comparison, M6 looks good but I have the M3 and I am not changing now. I cannot keep changing equipment every time a new camera comes out (about every year). M3 works for me as does the EOS 7D mk2.

    Very nice video and thank you! Just a quick question : you did review the 2 cameras for their AF system. How about the manual one? Is it the same? Why should we bother we the AF since there is the MF to both of them. Could you please comment on that? Thank you in advance, George

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, George! In the bonus content video I have a comparison between the manual focus modes.
      Bonus content: th-cam.com/video/RUBLhuZqGYA/w-d-xo.html
      The kit lenses makes the difference here. Apart from that the manual focus on both cams works the same, peaking also works the same.
      If you're into stills, and are ok with taking your time to do them, the AF doesn't have to bother you at all.
      But since, these cameras are so useful for vlogging, and that entails filming yourself a lot at selfie distance and your surrounding area or something happening quickly AND back and forth between all of this, the AF systems performance then is important, because you can't use manual focus vlogging the way people vlog today. There's like almost no stationary shots in there right now, everything is always moving most of the time, so the AF has to be up to that.
      Hope that answered your question. If not...keep asking:) Greetings!

    I can't choose between the M6 and sony a5100. It is 400€ difference but if it's worth it, It might be better to spend more. Help me?

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey again, Noomie! Well it depends on what you want to do with either of the cameras. What you*re paying extra for with the M6 essentially is the ability to hook up higher quality external audio and no overheating.
      What do you want to use the cameras for? Rather shorts bursts of video, like 5 to 10 minutes takes at the most? Then, if you don't need better audio, I would recommend the A5100, because of the way lower price point.
      If you're doing longer takes, and talking head stuff and maybe like to do timelapses, then go with the M6, if it fits your budget, because it quite simply doesn't overheat. Input for external audio is nice to have of course if say you want to vlog with the camera.
      Hope that helps you out a little. Let me know what you intend to do with the cameras. Greetings!

    Awesome! I totally would trade 4K for dual pixel autofocus. but I would love to have both. Doesn't make to much sense that my S7 edge can do 4K wiith dual pixel AF but no professional dedicated camera can :/

      T R U E !
      All they would have to do is put a fast processor in the camera and have a smaller sensor so the read out can be faster..and BAM!...you have stellar AF performance in 4k.

    what are your thoughts on M6 vs 80D? I need something I can vlog and take pictures in action sports (I run 50 miles and 100 mile races). While 80D is weather safe, and Sony A6500 is weather safe, I fear 80D is a bit bulky? and Sony does not have articulated screen.

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you're thinking about taking the cam with you on a run, then I would advise against the 80D because of the weight and size, like you already mentioned.
      Then again every camera will be heavy after enough miles run I guess....
      Between the M6 and the 80D, for what you want to do, I would definitely go with the M6 and the 15 45 stm m kit lens or the 11 22 stm m lens.
      You can use the M6 in light rain in my experience, but heavy rain...that won't work out well for a long time I think....
      The A6500 is a pretty good cam, but overheating is a problem more so than the lack of a flip up screen...for vlogging you can just look into the lens, which will prevent looking into a flip up screen and past your viewership:)
      Ever though about using something like a galaxy s7 edge and upgrade it a little like this: th-cam.com/video/-qMysh_k7lA/w-d-xo.html
      It is probably easier to carry on a run than any of the options above.
      Hope that helps you out a little. Greetings!

      what are your thoughts between the Canon M6 and the Sony RX 100 V? Apart from the fact that RX100 V does NOT have mic jack, is it superior to M6? I suspect the RX 100 Vs autofocus is blazing fast, and with 24fps, it does take action shots better. Granted I will be missing out on interchangeable lenses from the M6 but its not likely that I will change lenses while in action. I would appreciate your thoughts.

      The AF will probabyl kick any dual pixel AFs ass, not having used a mark v yet, I am still pretty certain about that. 179 PDAF points kick the dual pixels ass, so 315 should smoke it easily. 24mm ff eq on the wide end is ok for vlogging, handheld without a selfy stick might be pretty upclose, but then again the AF will have no problem locking onto your face.
      My only concern would be overheating, because if it isn*t better than the mark IV, then overheating will be a problem if you*re doing long takes. 4k video is limited to about 5 minutes, so 1080p might get you 10 to 15 until it overheats.....also depending on the weather.
      Apart from that the cam looks pretty impressive, I must say. Still it again seems like it*s more of a diva than reliable. "Seems" I have to say, because i didn*t have the chance to test one yet. Should do that maybe....some time soon actually....
      So reliability-wise I would still go M6. Butthat*s just me. Short bursts of video only....you got a pretty good camera for what you want to do, because the form factor is even better than that one of the m6.
      Hope that helps yoú out a little. Greetings!

      Thanks! Really appreciate your input! Yep. I tested out the A6500 at the Sony Square (25th and Madison Ave, New York). They will loan me one to test out for couple of hours. So, I will try it. But M6 is definitely my backup if I don't end up getting the A6500. As you said, it has 'diva' issues.

    hey can you do m5 vs m6? i am set on the m5 due to the evf built in.. i am aware of the flip down screen issue with tripod but ive seen the fixes people do so its not much of an issue for me. what do you think?

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, Nyan Htet! The Screen is better on the M5, the AF system is essentially the same, but a little more flexible with the M5 and yes, the viewfinder is built in.
      The other specs are the same, so feel free to choose the form factor you like best:)
      Hope that helps you out a little. More questions? Just ask. Greetings!

      @nhsplayer07 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      do you think there are any differences in the stills?

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know for sure. BUT from going over the specs results should pretty much be close to identical from a potential image quality point of view. Now a more versatile AF system allows you to get different kinds of shots, but you were asking about the image quality I presume....

    hey Mark I did a video in my studio today running the eos m3 in manual with af on and I didn't seem to get the focus hunt I usually get in auto, any thoughts?

    • @Mark10ProVideo

      @yankeecowboy 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TubeNoob I'm just thinking at this point when I'm shooting video in the studio with a static setting the manual mode might help the auto focus lock better because the settings are not going to jump around if that makes sense.

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it does, then again everything being static, the settings shouldn't jump in auto mode either...:)

      M6 ARRIVED - it’s even better than I thought. It’s the exact camera I been looking for. The true professional camera in today’s world seeks a small package that is packed with features and utilitarian functions and also takes amazing pictures . . that is . . power and portable; portable power. I believe it’s safe to say that this bird is the ticket. So much better than that luggy 5D3 and 80D. And, while I love the camera there is going to be an adjustment period.
      THREE THINGS become immediately apparent …
      1. How to turn ON/OFF the continuous histogram?
      2. Anyone else have the silver base plate of the lens eating away at the front face of one of your fingernail at the shutter button area?
      3. My auto focus seems to be doing some serious hunt n chase in photo mode and never locks on in medium low light until I press the shutter half way then while it doesn’t lock on still, it does seem to do better but one thing is certain, the clarity and spot on focus just is not there . . UNLESS when using EF lens via the EFM adapter, then the sharpness and clarity is perfect. In fact, a selfie makes me realize just how old I'm getting.
      The VIDEO is amazing off this camera. I mean even though it’s only FHD, the image is so much better than my XA20 that there is no comparison. I mean, my own 3 foot away video with selfie video using an EF 50mm f1.4 makes me look soooooooo old (true to life though) that I will have to turn the sharpness back, maybe flat. hehehe The video looks markedly better than stills and the EF lens blows the EFM lens to the cleaners in that the sharpness just is not there on the EFM lens. Maybe my lens needs some kind of setting, backfocus, or the camera lens data needs updated through a firmware update or the like? Suggestions or thoughts?

      Love to hear that:) Canon did pretty great with the M6 and the SL2 aka 200D. The latter isn'T as compact, but also good value for the money. Design-wise the M6 kicks its ass of course:))

      Have been testing the M6 out almost daily and learning the settings and will be shooting my first ciné Saturday and Sunday with the 15-45 M lens and some EF primes plus a couple EFS zooms. I still don't have my head wrapped around the autofocus and having trouble learning how to go with touch focus without continuous auto focusing but hopefully i'll have it in the bag by Saturday.

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mh......touch focus without continuous actofocus isn*t possible, BUT, you can switch the focus mode by clicking "left" on the click wheel. This way you can be in continuous af, use touch focus, and as soon as you have the focus where you want it, click once on the click wheel and you're in manual focus mode. This way the focus will stay where it is. And if you want to use touch focus again, one click on the click wheel and you*re back in continuous af mode, use the touch focus...and so on.....that should work.....

    Why does the m3 seem more wider than the m6

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, Gloriaus! When does it seem like that? I mean when in the video. The build is the same, if it is the same lens and the same settings, the viewing angle of both cams is the same.
      Greetings!

    • @Mark10ProVideo
      @Mark10ProVideo  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The comparison is shot simultaneously so there#S a difference in angle. I guess that's why you might think that the m3 is wider, but in actuality the M6 is having the 10 18 adapted compared to the 11 22 that the m3 uses in that camp. Then again it is just a 1.6mm difference...on the wide end of course so it makes more difference than on the tele end, but still a small difference.

    I used eos M (original), M10 , M3 ,I hate Canon so much because their AF are so bad. M3 released 2015 , 4th of the M series, and no dual pixel , just garbage focus system , not better than original eos M at all, i give up on M series . Fuji , Sony are much better

    • @Mark10ProVideo

      The M5 M6 and M50 have dual pixel AF. But I totally feel you:) Fuji has become way better with the XT 3, but I like Sony a lot.
