Sweet tour. Thanks
Drove by yesterday and saw the power meter has been installed, so it shouldn't be long. thanks for sharing
My pleasure! Thanks for your comment. Let’s keep each other in the loop of when they come online.
Good to know! Also, there are a lot slower (Level 2) free units at Bellis Fair.
Thank you for your comment Drew.
Odds are these are v4 dispensers with v3 chargers so do not expect any difference in your charging. Also your charging speed is dictated by the car so your long range 3/y will always top out at 254 if conditions are perfect (ie low state of charge and warm battery). It is still good to see this. The long cable means the Fords can use the charger the same way a Tesla does and the magic dock opens it up to just about anyone.
Thanks @scottz45 for your comment. I agree with you on all points. I may not have been clear on optimum charging conditions, so thanks for adding your comment to help clarify. I was also not familiar with specs on the cabinets, this is something i'll confirm on my next visit. Are you in the area?
Nice find! It's a bit of a missed opportunity to check out the specifications placard on the cabinets to see if they're V3 or V4. With non-Teslas coming to these Superchargers, this station was built with other cars in mind and that impacted the site design a bit. So it's a bit odd that there was no curiosity about the dispenser positioning in the stalls or the width of the stalls.
Thanks for your comments @anthoneyc8499. I wasn't aware of the specifications placard, when i return i'll make sure to look. And you are right about the width of the stalls I thought about that later. It is interesting that the dispensers themselves appear in all sorts of positions from location to location.
There seems to be four V3 cabinets installed there (one cabinet per 4 stalls). Unless you can go back there and see the power info on the cabinets, it's best to assume these will still output 250kW and not 350kW.
Thanks for your comment @Dubitz. I will be going back soon I didn't realize the cabinets had those details on them. When I return I'll see what I can find out. Thanks for letting me know and thanks for watching our video. You'd expect that they would have built in some plans for higher speed with those V4 Dispensers, so perhaps a software update?
Today, I returned to film Part 2 of the video, which will offer additional information soon. In the interim, here are some details from the cabinets: the output power is 250kW. Tesla is set to release their V4 cabinets for a genuine V4 Supercharger experience in the future, effectively future-proofing their technology.
