@Kleo Yan : I just received the Asus ROG Strix X670E-E this morning and has a similar q-latch quick release heatsink for M2-1. Like what you demonstrated with a double sided M2 it is tricky to return the heatsink. In my case a Crucial T705. Asus support advised me to pull latch back that secures it and press M2 down gently. It was then able to fit and is working as expected. Also the non-double sided the advised me to fit the rubber M2 spacers in the middle which raises the M2 up slightly to same level a double sided would be and still make good contact.

Good afternoon Kleo. I have watch numerous of X870E motherboard from all brands. no one shows that much details as you. The moment this pops on my notification, I jump right in. I know I will be getting good info again. Thank you to point out the first m.2 slot limitation, the tips and tricks about the curve shaper. This is another pitch perfect review.
Hi ya, welcome back Nox 😁there will be more to come.. I have alot to review as new products are launching from various brands from Asia. Thank you for your support as always.
Main reason why I selected this board, over Crosshair Hero, is 3rd PCIe slot... which I use for SoundBlaster AE-5. There is no chance that I would want to use slimSAS port to add a PCIE daughter board and then cram that into case, just for additional sound card. I have Crosshair VII for my old PC and its integrated (Supreme) sound cannot even come close to the crispiness and sound separation that SoundBlaster offers. Just a small thing that made me not select the most expensive board this time. Sometimes I think that vendors are loosing their touch with what PC enthusiasts want. We want options, primarily.
Hi Neuromanser, welcome to my channel and well said👍👍👍 . Thats very true, we want options hahaha... I use to use sound card but now I prefer to use audio interface. 😉
Hi Baris Yener, welcome to my channel. Thats what I thought but still couldn't close it, thats why i took the whole thing off. it's not about the rubber pad or the thermal pad. it's the angle of the metal piece which pushes the m.2 up. That is the cause of not able to clip the heatsink properly, that's why I have to remove the whole piece of metal.
I've ordered a Corsair MP700 PRO 2TB NVMe 2.0 M.2 SSD which is dual-sided. This SSD is listed on Asus homepage as supported. Do you think it will generate too much heat on the underlying components if the whole thing is removed and only have the heatsink on one side?
@@KleoYan I ordered it without the heatsink as I thought it would fit in the Gen5 slot you demonstrated. Will a dual-sided m2 fit in the 2nd Gen5 slot?
@@KennethSolberg I am unsure how thick the Corsair MP700 PRO are. Since you've purchase it. you might give it a try. mine are thick and they are gen 4. so sorry which I can't help you on this.
@@user-dx5tu6yz7t hi and good to see you again. Yup, I have a choice to pick which to review and I pick this ProArt. It’s well constructed and the features are exactly what I wanted myself but sad to say, got to return this demo set 😂
Looks like the offering for MATX this time around are rather limited. I remember a few years ago when there were quite a few high end offerings from Asus, MSi, and Gigabyte.. About the only one thats caught my eye is the ASRock Z890 PG Riptide wifi which was on display at Computex. I really wanted to build a nice high end MATX system in the case I have. But I haven't seen any CAMM2 offerings for MATX or ITX, just standard ATX. I may end up buying another case and just going with ATX. Either that or I may hold off on my build until around CES 2025 and see if we get some better offers.. SFF and MATX just seem to be getting shafted anymore. There are some really nice small cases available and coming soon, but a very limited choice of boards. I don't wanna have to buy a new board down the road, rebuild my entire system, and then go through all the tuning and stress test again.. I sure hope we get some more support and offerings for SFF stuff down the road.
Hi Erik Ray, welcome back. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and about your ideal build. I guess will have to wait and see if brands are to release new set of boards which are of M-ATX or ITX. as for the CAMM2 technology, I too am waiting if this will be executed. Nevertheless with what you've mentioned, it will be best to wait just a little longer to make the right choice.
@@KleoYan Possibly, from what I've seen CAMM2 only seems to be making an appearance on the high end boards atm.. I plan on doing an HTPC style setup with a larger TV and TV stand/cabinet. I certainly hope with Intel & AMD pushing for more efficiency on their CPU's we would see more SFF stuff being made available. Even Nvidia created their own standards for AIB's and SFF ready certified GPU's. Always a waiting game with PC hardware lol.
@@Demonoid1990 sometimes too much info can be congested to oneself decission. Which I often got stuck in the middle. Therefore I ended up with two builds and put to a stop. I just bought this motherboard! I was having a lot of problems with "gaming" motherboards so this time around I decided to get a motherboard that's more function over style (not saying this MB looks bad or anything). I game and also do content creation so this should be perfect for me, I hope this MB will last me longer than 3 years.
Hi navster87, welcome to my channel. I believe it will be as the system runs real cool based on the fact that the overall Smart Power Stage is at 80A which it's more than what a 9950X needed. by the way congrats with the purchase.
Hi Maui Waui Pineapple Express, welcome to my channel. I can relate to why you like this motherboard, like myself I am not a gamer but for work wise, this is a brilliant board.
Great overview but the x670e version of this board allows both m2x5.0's and GPU to be populated at 16x with no lane switching. Do the same on this board and the GPU speed in slot 1 drops tp 8x. This is because usb4.0 takes 4 lanes from the cpu leaving only 20 lanes. On the x670e the USB 4.0 lanes come from the chipset. The tech specs are available if you Google them. Also Gemini agrees.
Hi Keith Flanagan, welcome to my channel and thank you for your info. for these lane topic, it's often discuss among work force at work as in, it it still worth getting a X870E or to stick to X670E ProArt or to ditch windows and to go MacOS. Those who are tech savvy and with their choice of devices used, often struggle to weight which is needed more than want. It's a tough decision which I do not deny. Nevertheless thank you for your input. Greatly appreciated it.
@@KleoYan Cheers. I feel I will keep my x670e Pro Art for now. I run 2 GPU's at 8x, 2 M2 5.0's and 2 M2 4.0's, and still have usb 4.0 connectivity. If I was to go for the x870e , my 2nd gpu would run at 4x or I would have to drop one of my 5.0 M2's if I wanted 8x/8x or 16x in PCI-E slots. A pity, as I like the extra ethernet bandwidth and the quick release M2 heatsink on the x870e. Thanks for your detailed analysis of this board. The best I have seen.
Why would you need full pci 5x16 for? No good reason. USB4 is important because it will allow to add additional 2 gpus for local Language models making this board 4 gpus capable with 96gb of vram in total. Excellent board for Al enthusiasts!
@@ThePawel36 hi and welcome to my channel. Yup. I agree to what you have mentioned. At the moment there is not a need in PCIe 5 x16. Maybe Nvidia 5000 series might be using them. Thank you for the feedback.
With my current ProArt X670-E, I did the following: - Connect DP-OUT from GPU to DP-IN on motherboard - Connect 40G type C to my CalDigit TS4 dock - Connect Logitech USB receivers to my TS4 dock - Connect monitor to my TS4 dock This way, I could use one cable to switch from a MacBook Pro to my Ryzen desktop, by just moving the Type C cable. It worked, but was a bit crashy (Windows would sometimes lock up). Switching to direct connection resolved the issues. Do you know if something like this would work better on X870-E? It really would be super helpful to just swap out a cable rather than plugging/unplugging all the time (I have two MacBooks and a desktop, and I don't want to pair/unpair bluetooth all the time to switch between devices). A KVM switch unfortunately does not work for my use case either, as I could not find a KVM that could drive my 6k@60 monitor and all these devices, but maybe I didn't look hard enough.
Hi Leon Breedt, welcome to my channel. For your case, I am not able to answer it's rather complex. So sorry about this. For me, my main unit as in desktop and mac mini, I use a kvm but of course will not do 6K @ 60Hz. anyway you might want to ask your questions at Asus reddit www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/, the folks there might be able to aid you. as some support person are directly from Asus.

Amazing video @Kleo; Just one question, which I couldn't understand. Can I use 2x Gen 5 M.2 and 2x Gen 4 M.2 ? At the same time with single GPU of Pcie 5.0 ?
Hi theUNREAL, welcome to my channel. @@guilladogui8259 ok, now you are hitting something which I do experience.. Hi One World One Life, welcome to my channel for 96G kit, it will be hard to find above those bus speed. There are no point to run above 6400. let me further explain. You want to run DDR5 rams on AM5 platform as 1:1 ratio and not 1:2 ratio. the best sweet spot is at 6000 bus speed. next will be tight timings or cas lantency. Take for example, DDR5 @ 8000Mhz - Memory Clock is set to 4000Mhz and the Memory Controller Clock will be at 2000Mhz, therefore is a 1:2 ratio DDR5 @ 6000Mhz - Memory Clock is set to 3000Mhz and the Memory Controller Clock is at 3000Mhz. therefore is a 1:1 ratio Having the sweet spot as mentioned above. the algorithm cycle for 1:1, take example, a bicycle with 1 paddle on each side. it will be consistent and easier for you to paddle and to gain speed. as for 1:2, imagaing you have 2 paddles on one side and 1 paddle on the other. it will be rather clumpsy and takes more effort to speed the bicycle. As for Tight timings. since you have the 1:1 ratio. imagine to climb a steep slope on a bicycle which has a gear switch from 1 to 6. you will find it easier to swtich at gear 4 as it takes lesser energy to ride your bicycle up (CL30-36-36-76) else if you leave it at gear 1 and 2, your legs will take more energy to push your bicycle up the slope (CL36-44-44-96) hope this make sense to you.. so with 1:1 ratio + good cas lantency, you get good gaming load time and play speed. of course your GPU does play a part too.

Your reviews are amazing! Thank you ❤
Hi NAP Oficial, welcome back and thank you for your feedback 😉
Thanks @@KleoYan, you made a really good review. It helped me select this board! Keep up the good work.
@@_neuromanser_ you are most welcome, wish you all the very best with your build too 😉
For the first M.2 Slot, it should be enough to remove the rubber on the heatsink (near the connector), not the whole thing.
@@KennethSolberg Hi, welcome to my channel. It will be running hot on Gen 5, did you purchased it with the heatsink or without the heatsink?
@@KleoYan I ordered it without the heatsink as I thought it would fit in the Gen5 slot you demonstrated. Will a dual-sided m2 fit in the 2nd Gen5 slot?

Not a gamer but a Designer so i like this one.
@@flaccus123thank you for your kind words. Let’s just wait for future chipset. There bound to be one which will cater for our needs. 😉

Hi ya Leon, welcome to my channel and thank you for your feedback. All the best with your build and congrats too with your new system 😉
With my current ProArt X670-E, I did the following:
- Connect DP-OUT from GPU to DP-IN on motherboard
- Connect 40G type C to my CalDigit TS4 dock
- Connect Logitech USB receivers to my TS4 dock
- Connect monitor to my TS4 dock
This way, I could use one cable to switch from a MacBook Pro to my Ryzen desktop, by just moving the Type C cable.

@@maxsunz3703 oh ok.
I cant find 96GB DDR5 RAM kit (48+48GB) which is faster than 6400 Mhz and supports EXPO.
And how to get my free 3 months Adobe Creative Cloud?
Hi One World One Life, welcome to my channel for 96G kit, it will be hard to find above those bus speed. There are no point to run above 6400.
let me further explain. You want to run DDR5 rams on AM5 platform as 1:1 ratio and not 1:2 ratio. the best sweet spot is at 6000 bus speed. next will be tight timings or cas lantency.
Take for example,
DDR5 @ 8000Mhz - Memory Clock is set to 4000Mhz and the Memory Controller Clock will be at 2000Mhz, therefore is a 1:2 ratio
DDR5 @ 6000Mhz - Memory Clock is set to 3000Mhz and the Memory Controller Clock is at 3000Mhz. therefore is a 1:1 ratio
Having the sweet spot as mentioned above. the algorithm cycle for 1:1, take example, a bicycle with 1 paddle on each side. it will be consistent and easier for you to paddle and to gain speed. as for 1:2, imagaing you have 2 paddles on one side and 1 paddle on the other. it will be rather clumpsy and takes more effort to speed the bicycle.
As for Tight timings. since you have the 1:1 ratio. imagine to climb a steep slope on a bicycle which has a gear switch from 1 to 6. you will find it easier to swtich at gear 4 as it takes lesser energy to ride your bicycle up (CL30-36-36-76) else if you leave it at gear 1 and 2, your legs will take more energy to push your bicycle up the slope (CL36-44-44-96)
hope this make sense to you.. so with 1:1 ratio + good cas lantency, you get good gaming load time and play speed. of course your GPU does play a part too.
@@KleoYan Thanks very much for your explanation. Looks like the below RAM will be perfect (since I plan to put only two RAM sticks on my AMD 9950x and Asus ProArt X870e setup).

@@realiesOne hi and welcome to my channel. Thank you for the feedback. What you have mentioned is true, is just me. Personally I do not like argb in general. Rgb is still ok with a physical remote to turn it off or on, but not argb which needs application to run. Nevertheless you are right, can always off set the heat with more cooling.
@@KleoYanthanks. But my comment is about the negligible amount of current needed by argb. Therefore, no meaningful amount of additional heat that needs to be offset.
@@realiesOne ah ok, my bad. understood now. Sorry about that. 😉
@@KleoYan I had a typo. Negligible, not negotiable, lol.
@@realiesOne ah ok..😉no worries.
costs 650$ here.
and will never in my life pay so much for a motherboard
NEVER
Hi Svingarm, welcome to my channel. I believe there are alternative boards compared to this. For me this is more for work and those who generate revenue with this board, they will find this afforable and practical. Nevertheless thank you for your feedback. 😉
The RAM base is made of plastic, not with DDR5 not Thanks
@@TheBoricuaGamer hi welcome to my channel. Understood where you are coming from. Thank you for your feedback 👍
Super 👌 👍
Hi Ramador, welcome to my channel and thank you for your kind word 👍👍👍
Great intro. Could not find any useful accessories though.
Hi Ostravia, welcome to my channel, hmm.. what kind of accessories are you expecting? Am curious.
PCI lanes are shit with GPU still. My 4090 still at 8x. No performance issues though and still... EATX.
Hi Ostravia, welcome back.. first slot is at x 16 not x 8 (timestamp 7:51) if you want to plug your 4090 and this is an ATX board, not an EATX board (Time stamp 5:38)
This motherboard is such a waste of money, I cannot believe it, Asrock Taichi is so much better for the price
HI Aleks Developer, welcome to my channel and thank you for your feedback. I guess each have it's own preference. Thank you for your feedback.
The ASRock X870E TAICHI is only $30 cheaper
@@leonhoffman8854 hi and welcome to my channel. Thank you for the info. 😉
