Hey I’m planning to build my first PC, do you know if the sn850x with heatsink can be used with this motherboard? Can’t find anything on whether it will fit
Hi Jean Aguilar, welcome to my channel. I would strongly advise to remove the SN850X m.2 heatsink, reason for this, even if you remove the thermal pad on the motherboard m.2 top slot, there is still a plate underneath. you might be cable to force it in but I wouldn't advise you to do so.
Hi AimBoyYardie, welcome to my channel. by plugging the processor and rams in.. if you are not able to boot, try only one ram stick. look at the error code. what do you gets?
@@DieHardFlint For error code 55, it means either you have not sit your CPU properly or there are dented pins on your 1700 socket. Also if your rams are not detected.
I do not understand Asus making that add on 2x M.2 card as big as they made it.. which if placed in the second slot will only block the air flow of the GPU.. why? Why so big of a card, the M.2 drives are not that big and its a waste of pcb board to make it that large knowing if placed in the second PCIE slot it will be blocking the air flow into the GPU..
Hi LivelysReport, welcome to my channel and yes, I do agree with the blockage but as why so big. It m.2 are to be if PCIe 5.0, that will run hot, which I believe why the PCIe m.2 card has a massive heatsink to cater for not 1 but 2 gen 5 m.2. With this said, I still agree to your point and there might be other solutions to this, instead of having two disadvantages. 1) card being big. 2) blockage of the GPU placement. Will feedback this to Asus if they can improve this on their next board. Thank you for your feedback.
Hi G Weezy, welcome to my channel and thank you for sharing your thoughts. As mentioned this board is very premium and pack with features. What amazed me is how much heat it can handle.

hi kleo I am thinking of buying the Deepcool LT720 AIO. Is the pump durable enough? I saw some reviews; they say the pump failed in 3 to 6 months. Please help, bro, and guide me (arctic and ek aio are not available in my country).
Hi Zoom Videos, welcome to my channel the LT720 AIO is overall good and for me, I have been testing it for more than a month. no issues or whatsoever, just make sure the pump is running consistant 100% or 80%, some have encounter pump failure as they make use of PWM which the pump motor fluctuates up and down base on CPU temp. for me I run it at 100%, So you dont have to worry as long as your pump is either running at 100% or 80% always. as why 80%, some find it noisy. Also check the warranty coverage of where you purchase it. so in the event if it does happened to your AIO, you can get it change instantly. Another hint for you, for those who uses liquid AIO, it will be best to have an Aircooler standing by, just incase you need to send your liquid aio for repair. Hey another question, people all over the interet say that when installing a Gen 4 or 5 M.2 SSD's on the top first spot, the GPU will be reduced from 16 to 8 lanes.. but i run a Gen5 M.2 in this slot and my GPU goes full 16 lanes, are there just some versions of the Z790 boards having this issue? So i currently installed just this one M.2 and still not used another M.2 or the Hyper extension card, can you give me the best possible solution to get the most M.2 slots or the board in general maxed out in the best way with M.2, if possible Gen5, if not Gen4 should i go with the Hyper extension card? or use the 2 extra slots?

I wish that Asus would offer their more popular mobos, like the hero, in a white version as well as a black one. For the kind of money the hero costs Asus can afford it.
Hi Rick, welcome to my channel, with you valuable feedback, I will pass your message to them. Hopefully there will be a white version.
Hey Kleo, listen to me - from few days I watch your videos, they are Amazing!
It is Unreal how detailed your style is - competent, every point of view of the presented product, every aspect and detail!
Keep going, man!
BTW, you speak Exactly like Uncle Roger :)

Great video!!! I haven't cross over to intel platform yet. But one day I'll consider.
Hi TheOpsZone, welcome back. Thank you for your feedback. Greatly appreciated it 😉
I would go AMD for future proofing. 1700 socket will be out soon.
@@EAKMEDIA hi and welcome to my channel. That’s good, so long you are happy with your decision 😉
I just got this board and I can’t get it to boot, can you help?
Hi AimBoyYardie, welcome to my channel. by plugging the processor and rams in.. if you are not able to boot, try only one ram stick. look at the error code. what do you gets?
@@KleoYan thanks so much for responding! Error code 55?
One of the best review ❤
hi SIL3NC3 SHOT, welcome to my channell and thank you for your feedback. Greatly appreciated it and all the best with you rbuild too. 😉
I’m so tempted to replace my old Z390 Hero with this new one along with the i7 14700K.
Hi G Weezy, welcome to my channel and thank you for sharing your thoughts. As mentioned this board is very premium and pack with features. What amazed me is how much heat it can handle.
i still use 2014 cpu too poor to upgrade i7 4790k cpu on a maximus vii ranger motherboard.. 10 years old 'never realised it had m.2 as was mostly console gaming, does this new board have all the same cool things the ranger 7 did like all the advanced supreme fx sound stuff the virtual surround/bass boost , sonic radar suite
Hi Brightstone, welcome to my channel. hi kleo I am thinking of buying the Deepcool LT720 AIO.
I would recommend to get this aircooler, cheap and good, Thermalright phantom spirt 120 SE (7 heatpipes) www.thermalright.com/product/phantom-spirit-120-se/
So i currently installed just this one M.2 and still not used another M.2 or the Hyper extension card, can you give me the best possible solution to get the most M.2 slots or the board in general maxed out in the best way with M.2, if possible Gen5, if not Gen4
should i go with the Hyper extension card? or use the 2 extra slots?
Hi Velvet - Real Horror, welcome to my channel. I am not able to test this out as the board is no longer with me. It will be best if you can ask your question at Asus reddit. www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/

Have same motherboard after building I get a warning message - Please ensure to fully connect at least one 8- pin ATX_12v connector to the psu for system stability.
We strongly recommend connecting all ATX_12v connectors under heavy usage.
After updating bios, it now changed from that to - Please ensure to fully connect at least one 8- pin CPU_12v connector to the psu for system stability.
We strongly recommend connecting all CPU_12v connectors under heavy usage.
Computer works perfectly fine with no crashes. I have done a stress test using OCCT everything came back clear with no issues.
Also, both CPU connectors are well seated and connected to the PSU
CPU - i9 - 14900KF
GPU - MSI 4070 Ti Super
PSU - RM850e(850w)
Any Idea what is causing me to have this warning massage?
Thanks
Hi Silva Stoner, welcome to my channel. first you have the error message pointing towards your ATX_12V which is your EPS 8pin cable and after the bios update, you have the CPU_12V connector. It doesnt seems to me that your system is at any fault if you have tested in OCCT. I strongly suggest you to have your motherboard RMA or to do a 1:1 exchange. It might be the sensor build on your board is faulty. Before you do so, you might want to check with others at Asus Reddit forum. www.reddit.com/r/ASUS
@@KleoYan Thank you.

Asus ROG Strix B650E-E Gaming WIFI. Is it a good motherboard? Which is better to buy
Asus ROG Strix B650E-E Gaming WIFI or Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming Wi-Fi ?
Hi Ioannis, welcome to my channel, if budget allows to, I will go for X670E boards, as for B650E boards, either one (B650E-F or B650E-E) will do just fine. difference is on budget and the features. you might want to compare them at (B650E-E) rog.asus.com/sg/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b650e-e-gaming-wifi-model/spec/ and (B650E-F) rog.asus.com/sg/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-b650e-f-gaming-wifi-model/spec/

I want install ssd on this board which slot can used without loss performance ?!!
hi SIL3NC3 SHOT, welcome back. If it's of nvme m.2, plug it to the top slot near the processor, that will gives you better boot time. If it's 2.5" SSD, it does not really matter where you plug on the sata port as all sata ports are controlled by the z790 chipset.
@@KleoYan thx bro . But i have 2nd one so as your review if i installed it on slot m.2--2 is there any loss of performance or bandwith for pcie ...sorry for my. Question but i need use all slots for m.2 without affect on pcie 1 bandwith /lanes . Is that possible?
@@SIL3NC3-SHOT for m.2 if you place any of the slot, no performance loss, even if you plug a Gen 5 m.2 slot at the first slot. unless you are using the m.2 PCI-E riser. If you plug it to the 1st PCIE slot, m.2 3rd slot will be disabled and if you plug the m.2 PCIE risrer to the last PCI-E slot, then all your m.2 can be used but at Gen 4 speed.

Could you compare it with AsRock z790 Nova please?
Hi myfavouritetrash, welcome to my channel and this is my content about the nova th-cam.com/video/Esfw8JlPNFk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ciF1386jd0850h6J . For nova there are no thunder bolt port behind not a bios flashback button behind but the advantage of nova is that it has 6 m.2 slot on board, strong vrm cooling too.
@@KleoYan Hi there! Thank you for the prompt reply. Special thanks and KUDOs for such a detailed product reviews and immensely helpful tips. 👍 I appreciate it greatly! I have already watched your impressive reviews for AsRock z790 Nova and AsRock z790 Taichi Lite. Both boards have very solid feature sets and amazing price tags. 🤑Personally, I will be able to live without 2 x ThunderBolt 4 slots and flashback button too. What I do care about is VRM + cooling capabilities (as well as Intel I226-V vs Killer E3100G) How do they compare? 🤔 Could you elaborate, please? Many thanks in advance 😀
@@myfavouritetrash both nic have issues with drivers but on ASRock Nova z790 I have zero issues with the E3100G. Same applies to ASRock Z790 Taichi lite or even my own Z790 Sonic. The default drivers. If you just want asethetic, good budget, good performance on vrm and hassle free on the NIC. I would go for the Nova.
@@KleoYan Thanks. I plan to pair one of those with i9-14900K + 2 x 48GB G.SKILL DDR5 6400 (32-39-39 CAS Latency 32) + GeForce RTX 4090. Which one will digest such setup easier ? 🧐 without having stability hiccups ? 🤔 (in terms of VRM + cooling)
@@myfavouritetrash hmm. I have not test on the Taichi Lite but have tested on this Maximus Hero and the Nova, both can run 2 x 48 at 7200 with CL34 without issues. as for VRM cooling, it also greatly depends on your case airflow. Nova is in advantage as it has a 40mm fan at the rear to keep things cool and it's easy to clean if there are dust accumulation.

Hi, I am going to be installing a Samsung 990 Pro 2TB M.2 in my Asus ROG MAXIMUS Z790 DARK HERO ATX LGA1700 Motherboard. It will be the only drive, for now.
Which slot should I install it in? I'm confused on how it cuts the lanes of the PCIe slot down to x8 if I install it to the'Top slot' ?
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks
Hi chojingab, welcome to my channel. You don’t have to worry that must. Your Samsung 990 pro is a gen 4 m.2. Slot to the most top. There won’t be a degrade on the PCIe Lanes. It will only affect the lanes if it’s of a Gen 5 m.2.
