This movie really felt like the era it depicted. Not the greatest film I've ever seen, but it certainly is underrated.
The acting in this film is proof there still is talent in Hollywood and there still are fine actors.
never shoulda deleted this scene...it foreshadows forrests only weakness throughout the whole film which is family, notice how he never cries or complains...but is always the first to confront any serious issue facing his family, dude can survive 9 times like a cat n has 0 fear but the fear of something happening to one of his own/how that fear is his only weakness is dope whoever made this movie is dope the struggle of family is the deepest of em all.
That is the whole reason he does what he does not for fame or fortune. It's not a weakness.

@@AnnaLVajda both of you are rt, his only weakness is why he's so strong. He can be very mean when he helps them and protects them. It's actually a gift in hard times.
This movie was epic. Tom Hardy is phenomenal every time he gets on the screen.

Well how does it get worse? His words and tone says tell me more his face says he doesn't want to know..."and you let this happen"? "as long as you are my brother you will not let this happen again" he's really struggling to maintain control.

They should have left this scene in movie Lawless. It's a good scene. Jack and Cricket don't tell Forrest or Howard that they almost got murdered by Floyd Banner's men. All that saved them was Jack telling Floyd Banner that he was Jack Bondurant and that he came from Blackwater station.
Brenda Booher that always annoyed me. Jack was seconds away from death, because it was a dumb decision, and yet he was swaggering around afterwards like it all went according to plan. The sheer lack of self awareness or reflection
This scene gave us no information we couldn't already derive from simply watching Jack take the moonshine out of county. Also, I don't know why these two stormed out of the room with the implication that they were going to go track Jack down or something. They didn't really know where exactly he was even if they knew he left, and when Jack did return, forest asked him where he went and why, also implying that forest never was aware of where he went. I also don't know how forest and howard could have assumed he was going to see floyd banner. This scene implies forest already knew the answer to that question and then, either this scene, or the one where Jack returns, would have been incongruous. It was either to rewrite the later scene where jack returns, or cut this scene. It would have been cheaper (and imo) more practical to cut this scene from the movie entirely.

Floyd Banner was the real gangster in the film. The law didn't mess with him, he killed a guy in front of everyone and he made his money
Special deputy Rake was the real gangster to me..
Floyd was a real gangster but he didn’t kill Jack because even he was afraid of forest and Howard.
Call me crazy, but I've been convinced since the first time i saw this.... Howard was the most dangerous of the 3. The beatings he laid were typically not a heat of the moment thing and when Jack had the shotgun on rakes, Howard appeared surprised jack might have it in him.... but completely impartial to killing Rakes.
The cops, he came right at them and was without question gonna pump diesel into them lol
Also, Forrest made a point to "control the fear"... maintaining the intimidating presence and always having people wonder what he was capable of.
Plus the brass knuckles, which i'm all about using btw... (why hit someone 10 times when 1 can make um quit) he didn't want anyone to know he used them so as to control the fear.
No doubt, Forrest was the leader brains steady and dependable.

Howard was 100% more dangerous in the moment but Forrest was more dangerous overall because he was calculating. Hot heads always blow it sooner or later. I was a hot head. Somebody always gets the better of you.

You let this happen? Howard let it happen as much as Forrest did no stopping him. Anyway Banner pays top dollar for their liquor.
Forrest was still in the hospital recovering. Howard was left in charge.

This movie was not bad would have been better without Shia
