@Mrfairchap maybe; but honestly it's just also being smart and having respect for his mother no to discuss buisness and stuff in front of her. It could incriminate her if she knew anything; so having that alibi and just playing it safe is just a smart move. I know if i was doing some shady shit, I'd never tell my friends and family out of respect for them. My fuck-ups are mine alone; simple as that. On the flip side; Ron was smart in going to his mom's place as it provides a good alibi (he's sick and needed someone to help him with some things while he recovers) and he also knows he'll be safe in case Reggie blows his top and tries to beat him up or something. It helped everyone keep a level head and figure out a workable plan in safe territory.

When Mom asks Alby if he would like to stay with Ron and Reggie quietly turns his head to tell his to say yes, is such brilliant acting. Tom Hardy is a fantastic actor. Him in The Revenant ? Up there with Pacino and DeNiro.

Every family has one. My alcoholic brother, by alcoholic I mean routinely gets so drunk that he looks like his face is melting, has cost us 1000’s of dollars.
1:35 I like the attention to detail in this film. If you look at the scene again, you can clearly see there were ten witnesses and the producers could clearly have counted the extras in that scene, but when in high intensity/shocking situations, no one realistically does that (for example, I'm sure it was pretty much no one's priority to count the amount of witnesses the first time watching that scene). Obviously, the characters only went through that experience once and so had to guess approximately how many witnesses. The first time watching this film, I guessed about seven as well (fun fact, seven is a psychologically pleasing number for some reason) so while many may point out the inaccuracy of the claim by Barrie, it is actually more realistic to get it wrong.
I love how throughout the movie, despite the unfamiliarity and prejudice against homosexuality at the time and within the demographics of different characters - because Ronnie was terrifying and showed no shame or any reaction other than 'matter of fact' openess about being gay - no one dared or bothered to react.
supposedly,Ronnie shot Cornell because he had called Ronnie "a fat poof" he didnt mind being called a poof as he was open about being gay,it was being called fat that set him off

Aren't they brothers in real life?
@@keithklassen5320 Tom and Jom.
Almost identical..
Love how he comes in absolutely mad and exasperated at his brother ready to chew him out but the moment he sees his mother he's just "Hi mum😊😊😊"
His complete facial expression shift was amazing acting. Soon as she leaves instant shift again on his face. Delightful acting.
The most heartfelt scene in the entire movie when Reggie looks at both his Mum & his brother and truly realizes that his brother is not well and he realizes he loves them both above all else..
No, I think he's smiling because he realises his Mum knows everything & has effectively given his brother an alibi, especially by inviting the boy to stay too.

I love how they are so cold blooded and ruthless but still treat their mom so nicely and with manners.
That's pretty normal. If you find someone who acts hard but doesn't love their mumsie, they're harmless. You can break them. If they're dead courteous to people who aren't in the life and close with their mum, not the people you wanna fuck with. They're the dangerous ones.

George Cornell must have been hard as nails to just smile at Ronald kray after being shot by him through the forehead then to fall straight backwards on his stool without a care in the world to the very real possible consequences of hitting his head hard on the floor afterwards maybe possibly resulting in further untold injuries to the one he had already just sustained. @@I_leave_mean_comments I laughed at this but seriously I think a lot of mothers would be willing to shelter their children no matter what crime they committed. It's often been said that the moment a mother holds their child for the first time their life stops being the most important one to them, and I would say that is indeed true for a good portion of parents. Given how loving Violet is to her children I think it makes sense that she would shelter Ronnie even knowing he's done something unforgivable.
