Definitely; what really makes this channel great is the chemistry these guys share when they're together. Lucas is a great host too just like Emil; top guys
Emil is the Squidmar Dad, but Lucas is undoubtably an insane talent and ludicrously versatile as we've seen on multiple projects, sculpting, painting backdrops and incredible mini work.
This Black Templar scheme is really awesome. The dirty brownish white, this shiny blueish black. Everything matches so well. So having a pièce liké that is just the cherry on the cake. Now, you just have to finish it with a cool freehand on the banner... A majestic Cookie would be the perfect match here
I'm super excited to see what you do with the nine knight desecrators you bought! This is the coolest thing you've promised to us, and I'm already telling all of my friends about it!
This is the reason I collect and play knights. Because I just love seen the amazing poses and color schemes that other knights have, and seeing them gives me many ideas. Beautifully done, definitely one of the top 10 knights i myself have ever seen.
Whoever had the job of keeping all the candles lit on top of the knight would also deserve a cookie. Awesome mini, theme and paintjob Lucas. Really makes me want to get back into plastic crack
lucas' knight templars completley inspired me to grind down all of the aquillas in my cruader squads... butz now i'm struggling with the highlights becaus i feel like i either can't make them pop enough (but in a close-up they look fine) or i overdo them and they look just sloppy / bold.... and i wish they would have come with a better sculpt for helbrecht... but i'm not skileld enough /yet) to tackle a real Lion conversion (even though it is the more epic sculpt)...
😁 whenever i finish a project, you guys smash out another video with this incredible stuff, and i realize that i ever will stuck in beginner mode....love your work
Yay, a Lukas video! These are always so much fun as a little bit of variety. I'm loving seeing the progress on the miniatures he's working on! I really love seeing you guys working on your own projects!
If people are gonna "achtsually" someone calling those things tabards, at least get it right. The ones seen in those templar pictures are surcoats. Meanwhile the "WoW tabards" are more like monastic scapulars. A flap at the front is just a loincloth. Aprons needs to be specifically tied behind you, or at least a fastening that goes around you.
Just come across 2nd editions of the Eldar, Ork, Space Wolves Codex’s, they are mint, and I had them in my attic 😅 There’s the original Necromunda rule book there too 😀 The models for LOTR were there as well, such a “smile on my face” nostalgia find 😊🤘🏻
Awesome video Lukas and Emil! I also live in a pretty snowy area and was wondering what you would recommend as far as spray priming. I feel like sometimes it clumps up in the cold, do you have any tricks?
what are the colors u used on the last knight is so awesome my first came in today i wanna go for you model paint. black and yellow?gold is my fav combo it suits perfect
I still feel, after watching you guys since the beginning, that you could and should make videos like this easily a 2 part-er. 1 for the building and another for the painting. And yes, I am still salty that your Thunderhawk video series was too short and could have been so much more!
I really like the more muted & restrained color scheme on these Templar fellas of yours. I love a good outlandish color scheme, don't get me wrong. When I played 40K back in the 80s & 90s, I tried to make my figures have the most offensive colors possible to upset my opponents (hot pink Genestealers with lime-green claws anyone?!). But this looks less cartoony than a lot of Space Marines. I like it.
That's not a million miles from the paint scheme I had for the 1st edition space marines with the MK6 Helmets, the miss the beaks! I've only a a handful of them left, I lost most of my 90's Games Workshop mini's and games to a garage flood.
This actually bears the « knight » title so freaking well excellent job can’t wait to see that banner !! Maybe it could benefit with some dark red or yellow clothes or decorations to stay in the black Templar scheme tho 🧐
Thanks so much! Very inspiring. Your gear list does not include the silicone brushes you use. Which ones, and which sizes do you use for your infantry-sized tabards?
I'd love to see a truely grusome grandfather nuglesque imperial knight. I've looked onlyine for some examples, and they all really fall short. I think you guess could be up for that task.
@@SquidmarMiniatures I have been trying to get creative with basing and have been using foam and Milliput. It has been a struggle - never really thought about clay.

what were the files you used to 3d print the right hand and sword?
Bringing Lucas on full-time was one of the best things Emil ever did. Maybe he even deserves a cookie...
You mean Emil deserves a cookie for bringing in Lucas :D
Definitely; what really makes this channel great is the chemistry these guys share when they're together.

Give the man a cookie
Half a cookie. Final offer
maybe

Lukas painting 40k and Emil painting fantasy is perfect. Loving the content recently.

This channel hosts 2 of the best mini painters on youtube and that's crazy
Warning: they hearted your comment, so don't edit it. That will lose the heart.
It looks f-ing epic and soooooooooo cool. Cookie worthy job

thats a very nice apron your knight has. Should probably write "kiss the cook" on it for extra funnies

amzing. i like your style. not afraid to leave and show the brush strokes. it's very artistic and less sterile than a lot of mini painters

Whoot Whoot to the early crew lol!! Looking awesome!!

Lukas is such a talented painter!
The NNM looks so good. I'm looking forward to seeing the freehand on the banner
It looks like it came out of a screen of a new 40k game. Just awesome.
Perfect timing! I have just printed a full Templar army and have 2 knights sat unpainted. I know what I will be up to this week
That NMM is outrageously good! Such a grimdark and moody mini, I love it! You deserve at least 2 cookies for this job!
loved the bit of lore squeezed in here, gives nice context to the builds
That´s freaking lit! Love the trim colours and the rocks, looking forward to seeing what you do with the banner.
Can't wait for the freehand on the banner always love a Lucas freehand
I wish I could paint like that. Awesome.
Absolutely insane. Would love to see the banner work afterwards!!
Incredible work, can’t wait to see the video on the banner
That is an outstanding conversion. Beautiful!!
Please bring more story like videos + painting, its awesome and it spread Warhammer story/background for the ones that doesnt play it (like me)
This is shaping up to be the best 40k army I have ever seen
Really stunning work! Aside from printing your own parts for knights you could have use the parts from Taro Model Maker for the right hand 👍🏻
One of the things I was excited to see was the painting of the banner from the thumbnail…. and you tricked me.
Make a tutorial about free hand painting now with the banner! Love knights!
I rate lukas' content. Funny guy legend of a painter, kudos 👏 from the boys in wales
Lucas is an incredible artist. Masterpiece every time.
LOVE Imperial and Chaos Knights. I'm impressed you have Battletech some props, would love to see you all take some of that IP on.
How can you love chaos knights, that's heresy!
I would have loved seeing the tabard being torn a lot. showing that the knight seen a ton of combat!
maybe also like smaller candles to make it look redonkeylously big!
Loving this Lukas Special... Lukas is Special
Really looking forward to the next video when you paint the iconograpy on the Apron etc 🛡⚔🏴☠
damn the gold, black and off white is an amazing combo. looks awesome :)
Did you see the Knight conversion bits from Taro Modelmaker, here in the UK? They’re fantastic, imo.
So many candles!
He’s is definitely ready for a Candleknight dinner 😏
Amazing conversion and paintjob!

some more knightly terminology to include in your next insanely awesome knight build: pauldron, cuirass, gauntlet, gorget, greave
Awesome video Lukas and Emil! I also live in a pretty snowy area and was wondering what you would recommend as far as spray priming. I feel like sometimes it clumps up in the cold, do you have any tricks?
Ouch, Lukas saying he wasn’t even thought of in 1990… Thanks for making me feel old man.
Lukas episodes are so fricking awesome lol

I really like where this channel is going!
If you ever do knight stuff again, taro model makers has some amazing stuff
Brilliant concept and realization!
I'm glad you finally finished
I really like the more muted & restrained color scheme on these Templar fellas of yours. I love a good outlandish color scheme, don't get me wrong. holy crap! well done!
Holy crap that paint work 😮😮

That's magnificent Lukas. Very cool.
Cant wait to see the banner done up. Awesome

This looks great! Great job!
You talked about Blue Origin and Spacex. Can you talk about the Boing/Lockheed project (Phoenix I think)?
I'd love to see a truely grusome grandfather nuglesque imperial knight. I've looked onlyine for some examples, and they all really fall short. I think you guess could be up for that task.
You are one very gifted artist!
Emil, Lucas had better get more than one cookie for this model, that thing is clean.
Amazing work, looks beautiful
Looks so cool!!! Do you plan to add any heraldry to the knight when you paint the banner?
Insane as always !❤
wow..... this piece is insane.
It sounds like you guys need a backlog of shame challenge so Lukas can get these templars done
That Knight is insane, come on Emil it's time to give Lukas some cookies 🍪🍪🍪
The blue and white putty used on the base for the rocks - what are they? just a modelling clay / putty ?
Yeah
@@SquidmarMiniatures I have been trying to get creative with basing and have been using foam and Milliput. It has been a struggle - never really thought about clay.
@@OntarioGuy430 try apoxie
that looks awesome, great job!
Lukas's NNM looks amazing as always.
THIS IS AWESOME!.....as always lol
Question, could you do a Necron assembly line?
i see i am not the only one working on knights heading up to their 10 year aniverary
Wish you listed the music you use. It is a great soundtrack for the vids and would love to know where I can get it
Would love to see you paint the freehand on the banner
Absolutely stunning !!
Hey, one of my favorite channels!
I’ve spent about 4 months to paint and base 20 pink horrors, so in my world Lucas work at close to light speed.
Love it! But I was expecting a full church organ on its back, blasting the enemies with holy tunes 🎶🎶!
This video was so adorable and sweet I ended up with type 2 diabetes. Keep up the great work Lukas!
That looked amazing, dang
Man I've never heard a more swedish english in my entire life 😂
Builds custom knight and doesn't discover taro model maker, home of some amazing knight upgrades
This is absolutely awesome!
Looks amazing but I think a hugeeee shield would’ve been epic, more cloth and a head swap for a typical knight helmet. Does look very cool though
Just got my Squidmar 2024 Evolution today. Hoping I have time to try it out this weekend!
Lukas, is your STL available for the arm/hand/sword for the knight?
Love Lukas videos 📹 so talented! Emil, please give the man a cookie 🍪
Love it, who's lighting those candles though?
Missed opportunity for GW to have actual Imperial Knigths set with sword and a shield.
What is it work Lukas and candles anyway?
Incredible!!!
400 pt Knight, literally the lowest costing Knight haha.
Lucas is freaking awesome man
