the right way to show appreciation for fans, not giving the money to someone with the most decked out setup etc. love the channel, especially the setup videos so keep it up
I recently bought the alienware OLED. the lightbar is great when aimed so it doesn't hit the panel but does gently illuminate the desk. relieves eyestrain when the room is otherwise dark, which is when the OLED's benefits are most obvious, especially with the coating on the alienware in particular which kills reflections but does make blacks slightly more grey in brighter light.
@@jeremymote238 probably the best monitor for apex legends due to the .1 ms gtg ..... zero motion blur in close quarter gun fights. it performs better the zowie monitors in my opinion in terms of motion blurr
I would use it for studying/having to read and note things on your desk. Having that extra light with now shadow of yourself like the normal room light is the way to go, surely would help with eyestrain
@@jeremymote238 I absolutely loooooooove that monitor (I have the g-sync module version). Hope you love it as much as I do--instant swap and replace for my previous ultrawide (60hz) I was rocking.
I've been using the BenQ light bar for the past 6 months and it's super nice as it softly illuminates the deskspace when gaming/browsing at night. Initially got it due to suffering from dry eye but it's worth trying if you're curious
@@houssamalucad753 yes, I think i would too. Sadly my Monitor has a special design on the back, so I have to buy the Halo version. (I have the LG27GN850-B)
lighbars are awesome, especially the Benq one, for me game changer, cant live without it. Im not sure about curved displays, but on flat panel it works well
Thank you for featuring my setup! I absolutely agree with regards to the natural lighting, if it's bright out I generally have my sheer curtains closed. These days the Iris and other split keyboards are very easy to get into, you can buy gorgeous premade split (even wireless) keyboards for not ridiculous prices these days. Love the channel, keep up the great work
Great video as usual, Ali. Regarding the lightbars, I currently have one and they come in handy to relieve eye strain at night, specially when working. But when gaming I usually turn it off and just run some bias lighting I have behind my monitors. TL:DR: They're nice to have, but not game changing.
@@orthodoxcave Sometimes its what people can afford. On the other hand, not everyone chases FPS, some people prefer slow single-player 'pretty' titles and 60Hz is all they need given their base hardware.
I personally like lightbars. They can light up your setup in a nice way but they're easier on my eyes during the evening. My mood lightning alone isn't bright enough. But I use my PC as a work space/study space as well and I just need the bright light on my desk for that too. I have the BenQ one, which was a bit expensive imo, but it does the job nicely.
I love my monitor lightbar. It keeps me comfortable and helps avoid eye strain in dark lighting. I also like being able to adjust color temp and intensity. It's also very useful if you use your desk for other stuff like writing by hand or drawing.
I find that light bars are nicer when you hide them behind the monitor and shine them under neath it to land on your desk. Super nice indirect lighting that makes your desk shine.
26:08 I can't believe these back to back setups have literally the same exact desktop wallpaper... Kinda crazy coincidence, also that's a super clean one I might steal myself!
As a guy who seems to be the only one with an actual ceiling light above my setup, I dont see any point to monitor lights, even for lighitng up your desk space. The only sort of light I would see a point to would be one of 2 options: diffused rgb leds lining your desk/walls, and keylghts or diffused lights of the sorts for cameras which one would use for streaming or content creation
Great video as always! I'm kinda bummed I wasn't featured tho. I'm super proud of my build since getting my protolyth slate, and I know you've been following that project yourself judging from your Instagram :p
I don't like lightbars right in front of the monitors at all. Its like highlighting every nano sized imperfection on the screen from every dust corn to not uniform blacks and it takes the black values away from the screen. I always end up putting the light behind the actual screen which I feel is much nicer.
7:20 I normally listen to your vids while doing some productivity work, but i flicked my head when i heard “julius” It’s so rare to come across someone with the same name as me😂

Lightbars. The single biggest issue I've run into is using one with my logitech webcam. Lightbars really suck to use if your webcam/dslr is not rigged on its own arm. I typically have my webcam above my main monitor which is where you want the lightbar. I ended up returning it because adjusting the lightbar would move the webcam messing up my focus settings and what not.
In terms of monitor light bars, I find they hurt my eyes even though they supposedly designed to not bleed onto the monitor at certain angles. This is even after I put my one on low brightness and yellow spectrum. See how you go mate, doesn't work for me
About the guy with the 60hz, I was doing that at one point too. I had spent a lot of cash getting a 1080ti Lightning Z with a i7 4790K if im not mistaken and yeah... I need to wait a month to get the monitor so I used some old monitor from ebay for 35bucks :)
3:45 The All intake kinda makes sense? the bottom 3 fans blow into the gpu which is designed to vent out the rear, while the 2 vertical fans should be intake because they are on a radiator for the AIO. I still don't understand that last fan though?
th setup you choose for the price is c;ear;y the best choice i really felt it was amazing but some things are missing and ty for the video I always love them
Man, You seriously need to try the light bars. Even cheap ones get the job done. And it seriously decreases eye strain, but you appreciate it the most when the room you play in has no lights.
just adding this but there are versions of fans that are build the same as intake just the other way arount to have the clean asthetik idk if that person with the white one had that but he might have
mhm i think people use all intake/exhaust couse of looking for an homogenic set up. I personally have intake above and bellow for air cancelation and exhaust on the side to take that cancel air out. Its what gave me the best thermals inside the case.
TO play devil's advocate (and I'm sure this isn't the case for any of the builds in this video) they do make reversable fans now, so you can have an intake and still see the pretty side
I love this light i do have one. But i realized the pressure from the holder is a little bit to strong. It seems to press on the display and make this white interuption when you press on a screen. Im not sure if this will hurt it over time.
I think the worst Setup needs the Money more. 🤣🤣 Great Video.
