Great video! Do you by any chance know something about the availability of the FormD T1? I’m really interested in a build with one, inspired by your great videos!
I'd really like to see that setup but with both montiors CRT, a retro keyboard and hide the pc, or make a sleeper build in an old case so it'd be truly retro EDIT: mouse + mousepad too
Hey! The ocean theme is my build, thanks for taking a look! Lighting is pretty poor, and my phone doesn’t take great photos aha. But temps on the 3080 peaks at about 54* on stress tests, it’s killer with the Noctua fans I tossed in there.
@@okaythisisepic6196 for sure, it’s from Neon Mfg! This is actual neon, and they have LED neon-style as well. The actual neon glow is awesome and real tough to photograph on a crappy phone aha
My build starts at 12:46. Can't express how happy I am to see it featured by my ITX mentor. I'm glad to answer any questions If anyone is interested in a similar build
Nice build man, I personally think you should try and hide those cables on the right near your Macbook pro under the desk other than that it looks good. And mute some of those servers and check your dms on discord lol.
10:00 I can't second this enough. Going from dual monitors on my desk to mounting them on an arm that clamps on gave me so much desk real estate back. I can't recommend it enough. It's probably one of the single largest QOL improvements I've made.
On the CRT: I like the way they respond vs even fast LCDs. I held onto a CRT for quite awhile because I had something that was reference type color accurate and less smearing than LCDs of the time. They have gotten so good now that I don't know if it would have any benefit but some games (Like super smash melee for gamecube) suck on modern screens unless running in emulation.
omg the guy with ghost minimalist 5:00 setup is #1 CLEAN SETUP ive EVER SEEN to take his idea for credit I WANT MINE TO LOOK SAME - very very clean and professional - wow
The first one features a Planck keyboard (40% ortholinear), same one I've got. It can be more practical than a standard layout (after training), as you don't have to move your hand position minimalizing finger travel and keys are accessible through some nifty shortcuts you can set to your liking with extreme customization. Popular among programmers, but it isn't for everyone with the learning curve. The efficiency is worth the retraining, but even just trying it can fix some horrendous typing habits you may have not been aware of.
I'm currently on a binge of your channel! Just subscribed, I'm hoping to build my first Mini ITX set up soon after 10 years of gaming on a Macbook Pro!
Just built an N500 lite and actually found it to be pretty sturdy and an overall fun case to build. The open ended construction really got my mind going with mod ideas and I would recommend taking a look at the n500 lite.
@@optimumtech Yeah I just recently got into PC gaming and wanted some insight into how others have their setup and maybe take something from their setups to implement into my setup, genius video idea ;)
@@optimumtech What would you recommend for the best gaming earbuds or in general because I have the Astro a40 with the mix amp but the headset is too heavy so I use cheap earbuds straight into the mixamp just wondering what you'd recommend for earbuds?
i like how your actually reviewing the setup and not just use a outrageous setup just because you are making a video out of this like some other youtubers (randomfrankp)
17:04 i have the a50 plus and they fixed most of the issues and changed some acrylic parts inside to metal.. the case doesn't feel good until u finish the build... it becomes rock solid after that
Those 40%s are actually much easier to use than you think to be honest. Sure it takes a bit of getting used to, but all your keys are still there, just you have 2 fn keys either side of space for different keys.
The CRT setup is a killer setup. He is probably one of the better players with that CRT monitors, I mean even an soon 40 year old casual gamer like me will be on top of every game run with my old budget 17" Samtron CRT while with an lcd I am always below the mid if not in the lower end of the end of the game runs.
That crt monitor might look old and cheap but people pay many thousands of dollars to get the high refresh rate higher resolution models. Insanely good response times and an amazing picture with depth.
woah !! that’s my setup there at the end. surprisingly i managed to get an intel i5 10400 and nzxt motherboard n7 z490, as well as a corsair 4000D. very glad i could see my own setup in an optimum tech vid. much love
Two monitors, Big beautiful desk, 50/60% custom keyboard, nice mice, small itx with custom liquid cooling, no RGB and u have the BEST setup 4 gaming/straming/editing :)
That is way too much. Unless you are building with all the best components out there making no compremises I can't see how you could go above $10,000 even for a near perfect setup. Also consider buiying used sometimes, it really makes a ton of differenece on some components that you can get for half the price in new condition.
Cool setups! Recently finished my PC build and will be transferring it to main desk soon! Good point about the backlighting, i've none but will look into it now!
I know the color of that first wall. I think the guy was going for grey and that is the color that looked most grey among all of the color swatches. I know because I did that before. Then I was watching HGTV and they said if you want a grey that actually looks grey instead of light blue on the wall, get a grey with a warmer colored base. Next time I got a grey, I got one with a warm base and it actually did look grey.
It's the opposite for me: if I game in light, my head and eyes start hurting. Because I see light distractions in my peripheral vision. It's not so horrible during the day, but I almost never can keep room lights on while gaming/using PC on the evening.
6:00 pretty shure (haha, badum tss) this is a Shure MV7 and not a SM7B. This is their latest mic that can function with USB and no audio interface, and have XLR outputs with awesome quality if you upgrade your setup down the line and don't want to throw away your 250 USD mic in the bin
These are good. I have an ATX build, but ITX has always interested me so I like seeing the variety. I'm also thinking of building a budget mini ITX PC for my TV in the future, so I get good ideas here.
0:40 Yep, that's a 40%, an OLKB Planck to be specific. I daily and rotate out like 5? 40% keyboards atm. 40s are a good time and I highly recommend that you at the least try one out. Planck is a nice little beginner step, either that or find a Minivan on r/mechmarket as they won't kill your bank account and they give you the 40s experience without too much compromising.
With small keyboards, you can configure the layers on fn keys, which are easy to reach with your thumb. So you never have to move your hand, which can actually make tour typing experience faster. (For example, you can hold a key and have a number block without reaching for the numbers etc.)
You should have heard me gasp when you said you didn't like the blue. I love that color -- it's also known in paint circles as Thundercloud Blue. Man, that hurt!! :)
