I wish Ford didn't call this an automatic transmission. That is misleading and can lead to using the wrong fluid. In reality, it's a manual gear box with a clutch. They just use the TCM to move the internal shift forks and to engage and disengage the clutch instead of a gear shift and your foot.
damage will occur using this procedure...thats the vent plug he used to fill the transmission....the fill plug that should be used is further down...guarantee this transmission is now toast

Do not use the vent tube. Use the filler hole.
Don't use the vent. It's a vebt. Not a fill area
If you are not sure the amount of fluid to pour in just measure all that came out and fill to the same measurement.
What about trans filter?
Are you supposed to fill it all the way
Is it true that if you DON'T use the original transmission fluid transmission will suffer damage?
Possibly yes. On this trans u need to use the dct.

I've done this method on a few Ford Focus's with no issue at all. Fluid just drains down to the pan.
U don't know what ur talking about. A guy took one these trans and shows what happens when u fill from the vent. If anything iys actually better.
