1:40 Just one thing to point out: while in English "the Jedi" can refer to make and female, singular and plural, in other languages it can't. In Portuguese, for example, the translated title is "A Jedi", which means the female Jedi (in the singular), referencing only Ahsoka. I don't know about other languages though.
"Grogu" is possibly the name, "George Lucas" altered through the Lucasfilm Star Wars name generator. Star Wars productions have a history of paying homage to some people by naming certain characters with altered creative spellings of their names.

A fun bit I noticed was that in the Mandalorian episode The Jedi, Morgan says she got her Beskar staff from her 'Master', assumedly Thrawn. In Rebels, we see Thrawn sparring w/ 2 of those super Dark Troopers using what looks like a metal staff. I like to think that's the Beskar staff he gifted to Morgan which then went to Ahsoka, then Din Djarin, etc.
Michael Biehn's character here is weiding a shotgun, just like his character does in "The Terminator" (where he hid from HKs instead of employed them).
Bruh he would be more likely to not know it if it was out for only 13 hours because we have only heard it a few times and I know that I could hardly hear it.
i would love to see luke appear but i could also see the jedi appearing to be Cal Kestis because Cals journey through all of Fallen Order was to get the holocron with the force sensitive childrens names and rebuild the order but at the end of the game he has a change of heart and thinks it should be up to the force sensitive children to choose whether or not they want to be a Jedi. Thats exactly what Mando and Grogu are going to do at the top of the mountain so perhaps if Grogu chooses to go down the path of the jedi Cal will appear to collect him.
Tython was covered quite a bit in the novel "Dawn of the Jedi: Into the Void" which takes place about 25,000 years BBY. It deals with the Je'daii who used both the dark and light side of the force and later split into Jedi and Dark Jedi. The moons were Ashla and Bogan which symbolized the light and dark respectively. Those terms were also used by the Bendu in "SW Rebels" in talking about the force.
I thought the “take baby yoga to a force mountain and see if a Jedi comes” was a clear opening in to the obi-wan live action story... I agree, likely also an Asoka spin off... turns out Mandalorian is like Iron-man 1, the start of a screen universe..... all linking together for occasional cross over mega arc’s....there is a reason they gave it to John Faveau.... 👍 (edit, thanks for all those pointing out he’s dead... you’re right of course..I was thinking as a force ghost, given they have Euan Mcgreggor robed up in front of the cameras at the moment anyway..?)
If the fanbase was mad over the last jedi already, I cant imagine the rage people would feel if Kylo killed Grogu. Grogu is by far the most marketable and loved star wars character in years (even my 90 year old grandma knows who baby yoda is) so I really doubt they'd kill him off

This entire episode was a Princess Monoke reference, which is pretty blatant because Filoni designed Ahsoka and the Loth Wolfs after them.
Thought i had been the only one to note the resemblance to Princess Mononoke!
@@ccoday LOL... (Greetings from Kobe)

@@kimchi_b Indeed!
Now I'm going to have to go out get some. 👍🏼
This was the best episode of the mandalorian, not just for Ahsoka in live action, but all the Easter eggs from the films, video games & animated series
The way Grogu reacted when he was called by his name 😭🖤
You forgot to mention the theme song that plays on Ahsoka's last appearance of the episode, it's a remade version of her theme that plays in Clone Wars and Rebels. My heart felt beautiful hearing that.
If Luke takes baby Yoda at the end only for him to survive another temple destruction, im just.... im gonna cry
1:02 reference to Kurosawa
this episode was all Kurosawa
always has been
Kurosawa and a lot of Sergio Leone
Loved the Parks and Rec reference.
Cones of Dunshire😂
Man it’s so awesome to finally see Ahoska Tano in live-action :), I was 11 years old when I first saw her in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” in theaters back in 2008.
It’s a dream come true
1:40 Just one thing to point out: while in English "the Jedi" can refer to make and female, singular and plural, in other languages it can't. In Portuguese, for example, the translated title is "A Jedi", which means the female Jedi (in the singular), referencing only Ahsoka. I don't know about other languages though.
The spear is definitely a reference to the Red Viper of Dorne aka Prince Oberyn
Maybe
Hopefully Boba Fett doesn’t pop his top and gouge his eyes out
Beskar Viper has entered the chat
luckily, Moff Gideon is not build like the Mountain, and Pedro Pascal has a helmet this time
"Grogu" is possibly the name, "George Lucas" altered through the Lucasfilm Star Wars name generator. Star Wars productions have a history of paying homage to some people by naming certain characters with altered creative spellings of their names.
It reminded me of "Goku." And they both eat alot 😬
Or it could be a nod to Daigoro, from Lone Wolf and Cub.
no one notices that the gear nob is actually a nod to one of Lucas early movies, American Graffiti.
it also kinda looks like a death star but thats just me. 2 halves with a horizontal trench line
God its just a knob. Keep it in your pants already
@@adityasharma6579 Hehehe, you did a knob joke... I'm such a child.
You show what I, and perhaps many others, don’t take in when watching films etc. So many twists and turns with one character that I would of never have known....I’m certainly rewatching all the films and shows just so I can fully understand the story...it’s a much much bigger universe than I first thought and may be done to space travel is why I’ve taken much for granted....thanks mate.
When she mentions the seeing stone and says “there aren’t many Jedi left,” Luke’s theme plays.
Oh woah...
The mandalorian would probably be a great video game
It definitely seems to have enough side-quests for it
@@MathiasBjrnskov yes, it has plenty of lore and immersion to allow a lengthy in depth experience to take you into the galaxy.
It‘s one of the rare flaws of the Mandalorian, its structure looks more like a video game than a old feuilleton ou a serie, the movement is not organic enough and yet still too linear.
@@alvinoveritas2033 that’s because it uses digital backgrounds through the unreal engine (same one used to make thousands of games, i.e. world of Warcraft) it is flawed as it’s still new tech but it’s advantageous too with lightening and stuff, TH-cam it there’s some cool behind the scenes content
I also liked the scene between michael bein's gunslinger n the mando. Most specifically the words he said to mando. A direct callback to "Tombstone".
Are you really hearing “Gorgu”? Bruh, it’s *Grogu 🙄

Loth-cat appeared twice in the episode.... check out the 31minute 45ish second mark for the best shot. Must be a reason he's there.
Mace windu defenitly survived the fall, and took baby yoda from the Jedi temple. Then yoda will connect with mace through the force. It makes so much sense because it sets up a perfect mace death to boba fett who is taking revenge for his father
HK-series droids date back to the Old Republic, as does the planet Tython as an ancient home of the Jedi.
Tython was mentioned in the Bane novel only I belive, we first saw it in SWTOR MMO as the Jedi starting zone (not canon I know)
@@mrmeanjeans5929 not canon YET. 😜

I'm glad I caught that HK-47 reference
Hey Ryan, when day ask Dave Filoni about a Ahsoka being dead he said that she was not even though we heard her voice ..she was alive
That's not been confirmed, they just said that there was a possibility of her being alive, that's it
She’s likely alive. Filoni wasn’t involved in the Rise of Skywalker. So they likely went over his head with the decision to have her voice there.
Though she’d also be 71 by the time of rise of sky walker. So if she is dead. I don’t really have a complaint. She likely lived a full life.
@@awesomechainsaw who knows what’s possible through the World Between Worlds, and Togruta may age differently to humans so 71 may not be terribly old for her

Kudos to Jon and Dave for saving Star Wars!
To everyone that has watched the latest episode, has anyone seen a loth-cat in the village? I thought I saw one.
Yup, it was there.
Technically a tooka and not necessarily specificly from Loathal. It would be like a specific species of cat... it could be, but not necessarily.
What Jedi should Grogu contact?
Mace windu
Ezra
EZRA 100%
i think you misspronunced his name as "Gorgu" many times this whole video
I think Gorgu should contact Max Windex or Eczema Bridges if he doesn't reach out to Lurk Skunkfunker. Otherwise he's destined to become the next Analrapist Skunkfunker... also known as Dunk Vadersmooch.
I'm extremely impressed at the speed you find these comparison film clips.
Was anyone else put off by the folds in Ahsoka's prosthetics?
Were those meant to be folds like her species version of wrinkles? I saw them more as scars she accumulated over the decades of fighting and being on the run.
@@thedoctor4327 I thought they were scars to start with but after a second viewing they're folds in the rubber. Scars would've been awesome.
This, and also I felt a bit put off because of how short they were compared to Rebels, or even the end of Clone Wars.
@@1471dw Yeah, I've just rewatched RotJ and even the prosthetics in Jabba's Palace better in comparison. I'm still loving the episode and season 2 is pretty epic so far....
They were a little distracting but I’m okay with seeing them as age wrinkles or some such. Ahsoka’s look is tricky to translate to live action.
If you look at the new magistrate’s cloak buckle, you can see that it looks awfully similar to Count Dooku’s; just though that was a cool little Easter egg
The reason I’m so hyped for each new episode is because of this, keep up the great work my guys
Now everyone is going to name their cat’s Gro-gu.
You Missed An Easter Egg, When Ahsoka And Mando Are Talking, Mando Calls Ahsoka’s Lightsabers “Laser-Swords” Which Is What
George Lucas Originally Called Lightsabers Before Calling Them Lightsabers, “Laser-Swords”
Luke calls them that too in Last Jedi.
@@mzaite I belive the term is used in The Phantom Menace, too, either by or to Qui Gon.
The bescar spear will fit well to our beloved Oberyn 🤗
He wears the helmet so no one can crush his skull. That’s a 200iq move
Unbowed, unbent, unbroken.
I was thinking Aliens, where he pulls out the shotgun that he "likes to keep handy for close encounters"
@@mydrynn I thought the same.
He’s only been named for 13hrs and you’re already messing it up lol
😂
Yeah, that's why, we only herd his name twice
Ryan probably started working on this at 4am in the morning. While it was hard to listen to during the vid, I’m cutting him some slack
They should just use Cameron Monaghan the guy who plays Cal in the game. Peoples brains would explode.
Maybe Ezra if Thrawn made it I think he did too.
When Ahsoka sends the stone to baby Yoda, it resembles when Anakin sends a grape to Padme when thery are having dinner
Baby Yodes looked so sad, poor guy.
Grogu, not Gore-goo. Repeat after me: “Grow-goo.”
*Looks up*
Idk why but the little knob Grogu steals vaguely reminds me of the deathstar
I thought the “take baby yoga to a force mountain and see if a Jedi comes” was a clear opening in to the obi-wan live action story... I agree, likely also an Asoka spin off... turns out Mandalorian is like
Iron-man 1, the start of a screen universe..... all linking together for occasional cross over mega arc’s....there is a reason they gave it to John Faveau.... 👍 (edit, thanks for all those pointing out he’s dead... you’re right of course..I was thinking as a force ghost, given they have Euan Mcgreggor robed up in front of the cameras at the moment anyway..?)
It can’t be a connection to Obi-One unless he contacts his Force ghost since he’s been dead for a while at this point.
Yeah this is after Obi Wan's death and the whole OG trilogy
well, both of those sagas has Samuel J Jackson too- so there's that :)
Obi-wan is dead by at least 11 yrs at this point I'm time. Cal Kestis, Luke and maybe even Kyle Katarn are around at this time however.
If Luke trains Grogu, does that man Kylo Ren kills Baby Yoda?
If the fanbase was mad over the last jedi already, I cant imagine the rage people would feel if Kylo killed Grogu. Grogu is by far the most marketable and loved star wars character in years (even my 90 year old grandma knows who baby yoda is) so I really doubt they'd kill him off
The thought has crossed my mind. One more reason people would hate TLJ if true
Watching this again, I realized how amazing and BEAUTIFUL the score is!! **
2 things:
-When Din enters the city the first droid favors a T-800 which is cool since Michael Biehn is in the ep also
-The scence where Ahsoka attacks Din is certainly an homage to when Luke is attacked by Tusken raider in ANH. Hero in wilderness looking for a Jedi, sees huge animal in distace through scope, determenes danger isn't immediate then gets attacked.
2:42 "Baby Yoda", "Grogu" or just known as "looks like Anakin missed one" 😂
You kept calling him “gorgu” and it hurt. But that isn’t something to hate the video for. Great video!
The HK-87 assassin droids are the same droid types from Legends including various comics and KOTOR. The droids also have a logo on their headpiece which resembles the Seventh Fleet which is the fleet under the control of Thrawn, tying in the Magistrate’s link to Thrawn
They're not the same tho, KOTOR's was HK47, these ones seem to be next gen of them
@@amin_taheri Not all of the HK droids were 47, there multiple different types of HK during KOTOR

At the beginning of the show, when Ahsoka runs behind the tree and uses the force looks exactly like when Asajj takes on Anakin in Tartkovsky series.
I saw Tombstone; Doc vs Johnny in that final duel. Mando’s pistol spin was Doc after shooting Johnny.
I just noticed that Ahsoka’s eyes are the correct color
@Greg S. RIGHT! I was even happier when I saw they got the scar on her forehead right

In Legends, Yaddle disappeared because she died preventing a terrorist attack on Coruscant, which had a grave effect on young Anakin. Shaak Ti then replaced Yaddle on the Council afterwards.
At the start of the episode, when Ahsoka is addressing the village, you can hear a snippet of her theme playing in the background.
