As a parent, I'm appreciating the sounds choosen for Grogu. Takes me back when I got goose bumps listening to my own child babble new sounds while aquiring language. At least twice Grogu has used a two syllable word to denote something bad. "Ba" and "too". ... Like Batuu. (I don't think it's the planet'ls name being said.) He says it while facing the soup-squid, s2e3(?), and after being insulted by the master of arms in s2e5.
Great video! I love how this “simple” show provides SOOO much Star Wars love. It allows fans to deep dive into lore and actually engage with the Star Wars Universe. Why couldn’t the sequel movies bring up this same sense of wonder and contemplation?
Grogu was hidden by yoda, he was small, so probs was hidden in the temple vents or something, I doubt the clones and anakin went searching in the small vents. When yoda went back to the temple he sensed his presence, got him and then hid him somewhere and tried to block his connection to the force, now that yoda is gone, his powers and memories are coming back
@@KevBoughen yes he is, however grogu could of hidden himself in the walls, or could be in a section of the temple people don’t know about, i mean Ashoka didn’t know about him, so fair chance anakin didn’t know about him either
Thats a good theory. Also the fact that he looked at Ahsoka when she mentioned Yodas name. Is not a bad theory and also means Grogu saw Yoda sometimes probably. Or connected with him through the force when they were both at the Temple at some points.
I wanted to comment about this too. They weren't born on the same day, they were born a day apart (Neville was born on July 30th 1980, Harry on July 31st 1980). Both born "as the seventh month dies".

That would be cool, like an older former youngling at age 40-50 or 60 meeting grogu and saying something like "you're exactly how I remember saving you" or something like that
I think windu took him; fighting palpatin he only lost a hand and we know he can survive really long falls as we saw in the fight against jango in the episode II
Well, if maul can be cut in half and fall and survive, and the emperor can fall and hit shit on the way down and survive long enough to do what he did, and the plenty of other evidence throughout all the cannon then is vary possible someone like Mace could survive.
@@VinnyGuardino Palp came back, than Mace could definitely come back you dumb af you don’t even know Star Wars lore. And like Charlie said if you don’t see the body they could still be out there.
Here’s a thought: Grogu was taken by Palpatine for a future contingency plan, which is playing out now in the Mandalorian and which culminates in Palpatine’s clone in RoS. There are a few clues that may point to this possibility. For one, Grogu tells Ahsoka that his memory went “dark” after he was taken from the Jedi temple. Perhaps he was being forced to convert to the Dark Side against his will by Palpatine. This could explain why he chooses to suppress his abilities, or is afraid to use them. Second, he exhibits some Dark Side tendencies, especially when he’s hungry. Lastly, he’s obsessed with that little ball on top of the lever in the Razorcrest’s cockpit, and that ball bears a striking resemblance to the Death Star (look closely and you will see). Perhaps he spent a great deal of time on either the first or second Death Star as a caged prisoner/lab rat, awaiting his future use as a source of “high m-count” blood for future clones of Palpatine. Just a thought. Also, on a semi-unrelated note: It’s such a missed opportunity in the sequel trilogy to not have explained that the First Order were tracking down and conscripting Force-sensitive children to eventually break down and turn into Storm Troopers, further suppressing any chance of the Jedi Order rising again after the destruction of Luke’s school. This would go so far into explaining so many inconsistencies in the sequel story. For one, it would explain Finn’s turn from Storm Trooper to conscientious objector to vaguely force-sensitive leader of the Resistence. It would also lead into the idea that the Force began to “awaken” across the galaxy after the fall of Palpatine and his oppressive Empire, where even a scavenger on a desert planet, or a slave kid in Canto Bight could have inherent connections to the Force.
But in Revenge Of The Sith, Palpatine was focused on Anakin and wanted to train him. Palpatine did not want any other force sensitive persons, so Anakin had to kill the younglings
@@masterjedi5674 The theory could still work. If Grogu is kept in solitary confinement and not being trained at all, his abilities would wain. Ahsoka stated that his abilities will diminish over time without training (which would be a good thing). So if he was kept aboard the Death Star and not trained in any ways of the Force, his abilities would deteriorate, and he wouldn’t be a threat to the Emperor.
Ok... I thought more about this because it was such a brilliant idea. Problem is they would have to retcon the fact that Han Solo was the first this method was used on. Remember them not being sure if he would survive the process? Because it was some industrial technology they rigged to freeze a person. This is why some were critical of the fact that Mando would utilize this technology in his ship during episode 1. The cannon way of explaining this is that word of Han’s survival spread amongst bounty hunters being such a high profile case, and the act of freezing in carbonate quickly spread being such a convenient way of transporting a catch. Maybe Grogu was under a different sort of suspended animation.
@@IronPsyde I'm pretty sure that Vader was just testing that specific chamber bc it wasn't typically used for human transportation. Theyve also used Carbonite as a form of transport in the clone wars if I remember correctly.

If you can tell us all what Species Yoda is we would call him that but they never say in canon so Baby Yoda was the obvious choice. And the fact that everyone thought he was a clone of Yoda...
Maybe I'm taking this too literally, but I saw darkness as lack of memory... like frozen in carbonite, or kept unconscious while leeched. That could help explain his stunted learning.
I think it was Yoda himself who saved Grogu. Think about it, he was one of the only ones in the movies that we saw escape order 66. So, he would've known about grogu, since he was one of the last of his kind. Yoda prob knew how strong the force was within him, so he wanted to keep him hidden so he won't be harmed.

I don’t know about this. If this was the case, an ancient master of Yoda’s species, who was on the council many hundreds of years before Yoda, who was also extremely powerful and probably more would have lived much longer. His species is naturally said to age slowly. Grogu in reality is probably close to 50-60 years old (The master from Yoda’s species actually died because of someone else, but he likely only had a few years)
@@manavsharma5649 Grogu is 50. He was born in 41 BBY, the Mandalorian takes place 9 years after Yavin. That's according to Wookieepedia. Also according to Wookieepedia, they must mature well enough to completion between 50-100 years of age because Yoda began training other Jedi at 100. The "what if" scenario is just for thought-provocation. For example, if maturity represented the development of a species' connection with the Force, their death would be a poetic embrace of it. What people normally think of as a lonely experience would, for this species, become the ultimate unison. I know we have the concept of a Force ghost for that, but this would be a process where the identity is preserved less, akin to when Ben "let go" of himself and became one with the Living Force.

Dont buy it. We saw the before, during, and aftermath of Yoda's ordeal with Order 66. Nowhere in any of that is there another member of his race. Not to mention such a thing wouldnt add up anyways. Jedi's dont form emotional attachments, let alone Yoda. If he was going to save younglings, he would save younglings not just a singular one because it happened to be of his race.
You are forgetting that Yoda was on Kashyyyk when Order 66 was executed. And the first target was the Jedi Temple. That would lead me to think that Grogu had to be hidden BEFORE Anakin went and killed the younglings ...

I don't think there is a Force Choke "spell" to be taught, we have seen younglings manipulate, lift and move objects with the Force. The user is just using their hand to force-project a larger one to do what they want, which in this case is choke out someone. I imagine Jedi wouldn't normally use this technique cause they would find it barbaric, but anyone could do it. You could also use the force to depants someone... Which is probably why they wear robes and tunics, just in case!
@@papageorgegeo I didn't mean it like he learned it from a book. I mean he must have seen someone use it to know how to do it. There's a dark gap in Grogu's memory. I'm just saying there's clues to suggest someone tried to teach him the dark side of the force or at least influence his emotions into darkness. The producers are playing too much with the idea that he could be warped and influenced into the dark side. Why would they do that if they don't mean to pay it off in some way? Anakin wouldn't be able to follow him so he'd just moves on to sack more of the temple. It would be a heartbreaking scene.
*Still curious why Ahsoka just all-out attacked the Mandalorian ~ I know she's not a Jedi, but I can't see Yoda doing that, for example, as seen when Luke is searching for him on Dagobah ~ Or when Obi-Wan scolds Anakin on Coruscant: "Patience. Use the Force. Think. He went in there to hide, not to run." With the Force you can sense someone's intent, which is what both Yoda and Obi-Wan had used in that scenario - Vader uses such a technique with Luke in EBS and ROTJ ~*
Ashoka is no Jedi and we Know Palpateen is still alive so the Darkside is still overpowering the light side of the force and not to mention the planet she on is Dark and not much of light so the Darkside will be stronger and Clout the vision of a Jedi!🤔
Maybe it was Anakin who saved Grogu, full on Dragon of the West style prison escape. "Hey Grogu, you don't look so well, you should take the rest of the day off"
"no body no death, it's a universal rule in movies and comics" Shit applies in real life too. So many real crazy stories of people who "died" coming back
Didn't she die at the temple? I thought she had sensed in the force that her fate was unavoidable and thus went to meditate to try and reach through the Force before joining it.
Wildcard theory: Yaddle shows up again because she isn't confirmed dead. Bonus wildcard: Grogu is the child of Yaddle and Yoda! More likely theories: They will reach the temple, but Gideon reaches them and at the very end of the season will capture Grogu, leading to the dark side victory for the second act. This will push Din into teaming up with others like Bo Katan and Ahsoka to take down the imperial remnants in order to rescue Grogu. Or, They encounter Gideon before the temple and defeat him (probably temporarily). Grogu at the end of the season decides that he wants to stay with Din and doesn't want to leave to join whatever Jedi is out there. Din then finds himself without a mission given to him by an authority figure for really the first time in his life, so Grogu isn't the only one that has to make a choice about his future. In season three, this will wind up with him choosing to help Bo Katan defeat Gideon, and possibly Thrawn in order to protect Grogu's future.
I hope Grogu gets to continue training as a Jedi in between seasons and than also continue adventures with Din in the way of the Mandalorian. Like he can be brought up in both worlds. And Grogu needs his own beskar armor!
What if we see flashback scenes in future seasons where we see how Grogu was rescued from Order 66, similar to how we see Din is rescued by deathwatch?
Oh my god.... that IS a BIG twist I NEVER even given thought. the Group that WAS protecting Grogu weren't actually bad people. Holy Hell I never given that a thought AT ALL. That's amazing.
I think that Anakin Skywalker took Grogu from the temple and hid him. I think that Anakin did this because he wanted to save Grogu, both from the massive carnage he caused and because Anakin wanted to have an “ace in the hole” in case the Emperor betrayed Anakin. I think that Grogu is Yaddle’s child. She had stepped down from the Jedi Council BEFORE Order 66, and I think this was because she wanted to care for Grogu and keep him safe.
The librarian is the most logical choice that springs to mind for most of us and I love the idea that because of Darth Plagus two chosen ones were created, Anakin who wasn't found early enough and Grogu who was. And it would be good if it was Ezra Bridger who was the jedi to answer Grogu's force call.
I like the idea of Zett Jukassa (the kid fighting the clones on the platform in front of Bail) finding Groku and ushering him into the hands of the fleeing Librarian before returning to fight the clones. I think an interesting back story can easily be found in that bit of clay.

You forget Vandar Tokare, another of Yoda's species that served on the Jedi Council. His name did not start with a Y
If Mace Windu was alive wouldn’t Boba Fett be interested in that bit of info?

2:10 Theory: He was sealed in carbonite, that's why things went dark, and he'll actually age up faster than we've been lead to believe.
Best theory I have heard yet
@@IronPsyde there was a suspended animation I'm the clone wars, but it required big tanks. They used it to sneak past lifeform detectors.

@Cyrille Van Daele I suppose we'd need to distinguish age from maturity here, but that would be an interesting nuance to a species.

@@delmarfrazier2727 I thought Palpatine was a clone?
Maybe it was Anakin who saved Grogu, full on Dragon of the West style prison escape.
"Hey Grogu, you don't look so well, you should take the rest of the day off"
"no body no death, it's a universal rule in movies and comics"
Shit applies in real life too. So many real crazy stories of people who "died" coming back
Yeah my grandma came back and voted last month 🤔
Maybe it was Shaak Ti. She could have been using the force to hide his presence that could be why Anakin stabs her literally in the back.
Nice theory! I talk about what happened to Yaddle after The Phantom Menace and Order 66 during the video!
I hope Grogu gets to continue training as a Jedi in between seasons and than also continue adventures with Din in the way of the Mandalorian. Like he can be brought up in both worlds.
And Grogu needs his own beskar armor!
I wonder if 'Groot' had any influence in Grogu's naming.
I think Grogu probably means something awesome in his native language. Like maybe "a new hope".
May be Goku?
Can't wait for SNL to get a hold of this their grogu been slamming groot only to have a similar name
Oh gosh... just no to all of that..
Well I think of “grogue” as the child of yoda and yaddle
The librarian is the most logical choice that springs to mind for most of us and I love the idea that because of Darth Plagus two chosen ones were created, Anakin who wasn't found early enough and Grogu who was.
And it would be good if it was Ezra Bridger who was the jedi to answer Grogu's force call.
4th!!! I'm reminded of the movie The Gladiator. "Are you not entertained?!?!" Well yes, yes I am!
That music splice in the beginning was awesome. Wish they had done that in the episode, woulda been insane.
Order 66 / Anakin Betrayal music.
I like the idea of Zett Jukassa (the kid fighting the clones on the platform in front of Bail) finding Groku and ushering him into the hands of the fleeing Librarian before returning to fight the clones. I think an interesting back story can easily be found in that bit of clay.

The question is who removed him from the Jedi Temple? Some possibilities...and if they are still alive?
Clearly it was the Jedi Librarian
@@seanpatrickcain2 All the Consulars in the library died protecting the Jedi Archives
@@coreywilliams1454 well, in current canon, Jocasta Nu survived for awhile after, eventually fighting Vader a few years later.
