    I made it and it was perfect 🌹
    Creamy, soft, and perfect moisturizer،with that gentle texture of scrubbing 🌷
    I just used sweet almond oil instead of watermilom oil.

    Hey hi! Love all your DIYs ❤️. Just wanted to know you have used stearic acid in your lip scrubs (which is emulsifier and surfactant) and have never used it in body scrub receipe..and have istead used cetearyl alcohol.. Is there a specific reason? What if ceateryl alcohol is replaced stearic acid.. how much would that change the end product?

      Hey! You'll find the answers you're looking for in the Humblebee & Me Encyclopedia at www.humblebeeandme.com/diy-encyclopedia. Simply look up the ingredients in question to learn about why they are used in formulas, substitutions, what they do, usage rates, and more. Happy making! FYI, stearic acid is not an emulsifier or surfactant ;)

    I've seen lip scrubs that has water in it and looking around water can cause microbial growth if you don't place any preservatives, I was wondering on what kind of preservatives people use in lip scrubs or body scrubs in general or does lemon extract work as a preservative in lip scrubs? and I can't wait to try this when i buy the ingredients needed ^^

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! You'll find the answer to your question + lots of formula-specific and more general information about shelf life & preservation in both the partner blog post for this formulation (linked in the description box below) and the Humblebee & Me FAQ (www.humblebeeandme.com/faq/preservatives/). That said, lemon extract is not a preservative in any way, shape, or form-ever :)

    Question I under stand that this is scrub which is normally a wash off product. However, my question is if I omit the sugar can this also be use as more of a lip butter or you still are required to wash it off? thank you.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could leave it on, but I don't think you'd enjoy it much as a leave-on-it's quite light and runny.

  • @lianne2830

    I am curious, wouldn't it have been better to add the sugar after the steric acid and other ing were melted? Steric acid has a high melting point which would also melt a lot of that sugar needed for the scrubbiness?

    • @colvenpc
      @colvenpc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lianne ****** www.humblebeeandme.com/watermelon-mint-lip-scrub/. Regarding the sugar melting: Sugar is water soluble, so it cannot dissolve in the oil base. Its melting point is 186°C (367°F), so it cannot melt in a water bath, where the heat is capped at 100°C (212°F).

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The melting point for stearic acid is 69°C-sugar's is 186°C :)

      No; there's no emulsifier. I opted not to as I find it too drying for the lips.
