Yes!!! Watermelon oil is one of my all-time favs. I use it in my DIY face oil blend. Great ingredient for 40-somethings like me who are in that crappy in-between phase of dryness / dehydration fighting against an acne-prone t-zone. I used to get deep, painful cystic acne on my chin and nose for most of my adult life until I started making this face oil blend. Now, no acne beyond minor surface stuff for over a year! 🍉 🙌🏻 🍉
Going to try to make a watermelon seed, sea buckthorn (or maybe buriti oil) and argan oil eye balm soon as it seems gentle enough to use in my eye area. 🤞🏻

Very timely recipe! I am a little unsatisfied with the last cuticle butter I made - I prefer something less waxy and more creamy buttery to apply at night (I like a waxy balm in the morning, I think I've gotten to the point where I am too weird about nail care). Will definitely go read the full post, but sounds like this is perfect! Anything with lanolin gets along with my skin so nicely, like your soothing hand butter recipe :]

Made this today - love it on my cuticles - but wanted to share this for anyone else on a lanolin learning curve: there’s a reason Marie picked peppermint e.o. You need a strong scent to cover up the earthy smell of the lanolin (actually it smells faintly of gasoline to me, yuck).
I used tangerine e.o. as I love citrus and it’s non-photoxic and I upped the % a bit as I could tell it wasn’t coming through (to the point that I was right on the edge of skin safe) and it is still barely detectable; the lanolin is dominant. So, yeah, take Marie’s advice and go with peppermint or maybe spearmint (which I personally prefer).
On the plus side: between the orange-hued essential oil I used and my watermelon seed oil (mine looks different from Marie’s oil from Mystic Moments; mine is from Sunrise Botanics in Canada and it looks almost like sea buckthorn oil), my balm came out a beautiful orangey-yellow colour 😊

Love this 💗. Do you have a recipe for peel off mask? There are some called Esti Mask. They come in a powder and you mix it up with water. It is supper expensive and you only get 10 uses from one tub. I’m a body waxer and it’s a nice way to finish a calm the skin after a bikini wax.

Hi! I made this last night and I love it as a lip butter. Can I use flavor oil? Would it be strong enough to cover the lanolin scent?
You could certainly try it; I can't advise on if it would be strong enough as I never use 'em. Happy making!

I know you said watermelon seed oil has a fast speed of absorption, but have to ask...have you ever used hazelnut oil? Wondering if I can use this instead.
I have! I'd say hazelnut oil is even lighter than watermelon seed oil-you could use it instead for an even lighter end product :)
Also-I FINALLY got some pine resin! I haven't played with it yet, though :)

That's so cool! I've used 2 types of tree resins so far. Pinion pine and white spruce. The pinon pine has this very unique acquired scent to it. White spruce (picea glauca) has a Christmas tree scent for sure! But with a hint of skunkyness...I made soap using this white spruce resin and it filled my house with a pungent smell. 😜
Hi, wanted to know if lanolin can be a good replacement for soy lecithin?

@@HumblebeeAndMe thankyou, I saw a different creamy lip balm recipe video of yours, where you stated soy lecithin as the main star ingredient, wanted to try making it, have everything in stock but the soy lecithin, so thought if I could use lanolin instead 😅
It's worth a try in that case! Just start small :) And remember the lanolin can stink... you may wish to get the deodorized stuff that's sold as nipple cream for breastfeeding at the drug store. Happy making!

You can put a lip & cuticle butter on your lips AND cuticles :) Please read the blog for substitutions etc.
Hey, I know you usually don’t do face masks but I can’t figure out what I do wrong and perhaps you could help. I’m trying to make algae peel off facial mask but all I come up with is brownish pulp that won’t dry up for hours so I have scrape it. My basic recipe is 85% diatomaceous earth and 15% alginate. I tried 20% but it didn’t help
I'm afraid I've never done any work with peel-off masks so I can't offer any insights here. Sorry!

It's a term that encompasses all natural, basic sort of ingredients for skin care... or at least it does for me. I just googled it and there sure are a LOT of definitions, many of which encompass a lot of political stuff that isn't exactly relevant for skin care ha.
