- The end of another week of keeping ourselves to ourselves. However, via the Teatime at the Ritz videos and the Tricia’s Super Trooper’s Facebook page, it’s been another week of meeting some truly delightful women from all over the place - including a few from ‘down under’ and some from ‘over the pond’. Welcome to all of you and I am loving your company via the photographs you are posting and the comments that you are leaving.
Today I have decided to go into my beauty salon before my tea date at 4pm to brighten up my face so that it looks more youthful by adding just three colourful products at my eyes, cheeks and lips. Restoring the magical ‘luminance of contrast’ to the face is the quickest and easiest way to banish the inevitable ‘fading’ that comes to an older face like mine. Do hope you enjoy it! Thank you Tricia, enjoyed that. I do my makeup the same. I love colour and contrast, I don't do the no makeup look and I have never been a beige sort of person. I do look washed out without my makeup, so colour and contrast are a must. What I do do though is, every two/three days I put some self tan on, which gives a bit more colour to my face, and then my LFF foundation looks even better, well I think it does. All my life I have worn blue eye shadow, but a little while back I ordered the browns, the one with three in, and I love it. I look completely different with dark eyes, I don't think I will be going back to blue any time soon. In fact it seems to have given me a new look. Who would have thought you could have a 'new look' with just a different colour eye shadow. Look forward to Teatime on Monday.
not worn my make up for over 2 weeks but you inspired me to make up my face today which is Saturday Going to use up the foundations I have put aside as not sure if they suited me in the "other life" Going to have face time with family this evening so I don't want them worrying that I look ill !!! You are absolutely right about the concept of the older face needing colour & definition - it all came together when the eye colour complemented the lip colour & brightened your face. I always hesitate to apply any sort of colour to my cheeks as I tend to have a florid complexion & can become quite literally red-faced for no obvious reason. I also like your hairstyle very much. Wonderful, you look fabulous. Years ago, I trained as an image consultant, in fact you are giving me ideas for the future, as I have all the gear in the loft ( drapes, cool, warm, tones etc. They could all be resurrected and the colour wheel etc. ) I could start doing people’s colours again. I am 74 in two weeks, still supposedly , employed as a nurse tutor 2 days a week, but in lock down due my age and vulnerabilities. I feel I shall not return to nursing after this episode and was wondering what could I put my energy into. Thoughts are going around my head now. Your make up , is the icing on the cake as it is so simply understood. I used another range of make up , which was specifically used by image consultants, but yours is better. Wish you had been around then!
Anyway that was 30 years ago.....a lot of water under the bridge since then, but who knows?

Looked for your videos regarding lipstick colours and found a couple in the tutorial sessions demonstrating or showing some of the warm and cool tone colours, which look fabulous. What would really help is if you show the full range of cool and warm tone colours in a video. Have been on the website and have seen the colours there, but seeing the colours through a video will really assist purchasing decisions. Hope that's OK.

I appreciate what you're saying about how wrinkles are not the main problem, but I have a 65-year-old face that grew up in Arizona living outside as much as possible. When I look in the mirror in the morning, all I can see are deep canals of, okay, sun damage but also laugh lines. So what can I do not to hide, because I don't want to cake anything on, but to minimize those deep lines?
Hi Robin - Laughter lines (your words) are the result of a life well lived with joy and a normal part of ageing. Since I launched my makeup line 6 years ago I have met hundreds of older women. Some more wrinkled than others, however all of them have looked lovely with some colour and definition added to their faces. I have no magic wand to wave over your face, but I am sure that the right makeup applied in the right way (definitely not caked on) would help you to better like the way your face looks. Unfortunately we live in a world which makes wrinkles (especially on a female face) into a problem in search of a solution. Tx

Hi Tricia. Enjoyed the video. I have a problem with foundation. I bought the LFF foundation but it “piled” (think that is the correct term) on my face, used it with a different brand of primer. Bought an LFF primer and tried again but it is still doing the same thing. Any idea why this could be. Loved the earring today.
So sorry about that - its caused by your moisturiser. Try it on the back of your hand with and without your moisturiser and see what happens. Boots Protect and Perfect causes the pilling I am afraid, but many don't. If you use your fingers to smooth it after brushing on the foundation, it will absorb and you can use a big brush to sweep away the little pills. Not ideal but the foundation will look fine.

I wish my face colour would fade, 2 days short of 70 and I'm still very healthy looking, far too red across the cheeks!
