    Very, very true man. sometimes people just get hated on and the ball just rolls. Jonny is a champion though there is no doubt. His heart is devoted to the game.

    I'm Irish and I have to say he is without a doubt the best Fly Half of all time, I mean it's not a coincidence that England just happened to reach the world cup final when Wilkinson was playing. That England team was playing terrible Rugby leading up to the tournament and then went to shit again when he left.

    A chest press not a bench press. But you have to love Johnny

  • @vinniechan

    Any comparison is unfair. Carter is becoming the all completed fly half the game will have ever seen, his composure and game management even when he's having off day is outstanding.
    Giteau is an exciting player on the rise. Let's not forget he's played several position (12,9) and is finally finding his foothold at 10. He is not quite the finished article.
    Wilko is just a shining example for all sportsmen in any code. Let's not forget he spent 4 out of 10 years injured.

    He was 23/24 in 2003 - and he trained incredibly hard. Plus after the world cup he learnt to relax a bit more. If he hadn't been injured so much he'd have kept improving. He's never really had a long run of game time since 2003. Although he definitely contributed to his injuries through overtraining and tackling very hard.

    Bench Press Machines allow you to keep perfect form, and it's alot safer because you don't really need a spotter.
    I prefer traditional stuff though.

    To be honest, I wouldn't even say we played GOOD in 2003 when we won it or indeed, pulled any trees up when we got to the final last time. The utcome though doesn't lie! Brian Ashton will still be in stitches! Everyone I knew in England was negative about him yet we still got to a final, compare that with the state of our game now with the so called "Mega God" Johnno???? I actually love the guy but IMO he has a thankless task due to the reasons I gave earlier in this post. We need to wake up!!!

    whoever compared carter's tries to wilko's just shoots your agrument in the foot really. It emphasises even more how great a kicker he is if he can be world record points scorer with only 6 tries.

  • @like2surf

    Mate I was talking about the last World Cup in 07. England were struggling to win games in the six nations, then Wilkinson came back for the World Cup where they reached the final, he got injured shortly after and England started loosing matches again.

    He has achieved more than Carter has, but dont forget, those achievments are a team effort and the Kiwis are chokers haha.. I think they are almost on par Carter better on attack and Wilkinson better on defense, but who would you pick, if you were the coach and could have one or the other??
    Tough one, but I would go for Carter by the smallest of margins. Both great players though!

  • @tyrant1505

    Well, no wonder his shoulder got screwed. The strength curve and movement "plane" on this machine is completly out of kilter! I love Jonny's work ethic, he's a real role model BUT his loyalty to Newcastle and Blackie held him up, even knocked him back ay times IMO. Will be intersting to see how he performs and looks fitness wise in France. I think it'll do him the world of good, shame it's taken so long!

    @bobmatthewsJNR you need to work on how much 140kg is mate. 140kg = 22 stone. and i havnt seen jonny tackle a 22 stone man, ive seen him tackle a 18 and 19 stone guys, but 22 kg?! thats a prop forwards weight and i havnt seen him do that but anyway you are right about everything else

  • @Redrocket14
    @Redrocket14 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    u think he couldve been btr that wat he was in 2003? wow that would be scary. how old was he then?. maybe he got injured from takling so hard which made him the great player he is

    @RupertNorth i wouldnt at all be surprised if he can bench around 160, i know for a fact that dan carter of the all blacks can bench around 150, carter's a little cmaller than jonny,

    whats that stick thing hes using in the last bit of the video

  • @Slippedibob
    @Slippedibob 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    wilkinson is a very good tackler, especially compared to chabal? chabal can't even play rugby? he just runs into people and to me that requires no skill, just a body like some caveman. he's nobody to look up to, however, jonny is. especially because of his dedication to the sport and the huge amount of talent he has. go jonny :) and i hope he gets better soon.

  • @wintertrumpet
    @wintertrumpet 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeah, that's right, a pro rugby player such as JW has 'side-stepped' the all blacks, pretending to be injured so he doesn't have to face dan carter. that's a very informed point of view. how thick can you be?

  • @Splotched
    @Splotched 15 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @caledfwlch 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wha-?!?!? How does it work?

  • @yowwow
    @yowwow 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    and most unlucky. The only way most other fly halfs are able to compare to him is because he missed most of his peak years through injury.

  • @natedognate616

    @paullovrey who exactly are you insulting and why?

  • @sohailsabar4
    @sohailsabar4 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    He won't be able to lift that much if you put those weights on a barbell. Chest press machines make it a lot easier.

  • @leonwelchthesex
    @leonwelchthesex 16 ปีที่แล้ว

    richie mccaw is a good tackler but lima you have probably just seen a few good tackles that doesnt means hes the best tackler in the world look at chabals ratio for missed tackles then ull agree!

  • @wintertrumpet
    @wintertrumpet 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    you started by saying JW is faking injury because he's scared of the all blacks and doesn't want to play them, but that he'll be back for england after these tests.
    now we see that he says he's not bothered about playing for england anymore.
    so you were wrong.

  • @Redrocket14
    @Redrocket14 15 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @tyrant1505
    @tyrant1505 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, the damn RFU are sad! I can tell you as an Englishmen that the game needs an overhaul from the TOP. Rid the game of the money grabbing, gin swilling characters that are the outdated RFU, including the ridiculous appt of Andrew, and bring some pro-active thinkers in again. Reduce the number of games, up the intensity and as Graham Henry said last week and I have been saying for the past few years, STOP allowing an influx of Southern Hem players coming over here for their pension?!?!

  • @mollers92
    @mollers92 14 ปีที่แล้ว

    why are so many people using this video as a shit reason to tell everyone how much they bench... nobody gives a shit how much you bench press. Alot of rugby players, like josh lewsey, never even did bench press and he'd fuck you guys up royally. It's not like it even matters whether you can bench more than jonny either, chances are he's probably a bit better at rugby than you.

  • @PartyOEntertainment

    Johnny was good. Carter is ok.
    Both have NOTHING on Giteau!

  • @BAR901
    @BAR901 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    Completely and utterly incorrect.
    Firstly, I disagree with Wilkinson being the best fly half of all time, I believe he would be in the latter half of a top 10 of all time (if that). But that is just opinion.
    However what you said about Englands form before the world cup? Wrong.
    England went into the world cup as one of the favourites after winning their first grandslam since 1995 followed up by wins against NZ and Australia.
    Their form was amazing before the world cup. That is a fact.

    i won't argue with that. you're formidable competitors.
    but i will say you bottle it when it matters most - i.e. in world cup knock-out stages.
    and i will say that calling martin johnson and jonny wilkinson cowards and then relying on the reputation of your national rugby team to defend yourself is a bit sad.

    sure mcrae was lying on top of him hitting him. O'Gara probably didnt even know what hit him. They were gay ass cheap shots. O'Gara is one of the most talented players around and others get jealous. Even tho im Irish I have to admit that Wilkinson is class and has scored many more points than O'Gara per game. But the Ireland team, until this year, always scored enough to win the match, whereas the england teams wilkinson were on scored as many points as possible. O;Gara is better than both ATM
