Ahhk, thanks. I just made a rep team for league and so one of the trainers is gonna run us through a few workouts etc. Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to mention it.
i think i started when i was 15 and that was about average in our football team. i was tolled that 16 is actually the preferred age to start so that it wont stun your growth but dont knw how true that is. you would be surprises how much progress is made in the first few years if you work your ass off, but that progress generally slows down a lot unless you start taking performance enhancing drags and supplements.
Rugby and American football are both good sports, I have played both of them. They both require lots of strength and toughness. However, football players generally have to be bigger but rugby players have to have more stamina because of all the running.
aahhhh the redfern brothers! I have had the pleasure of being coached by Steve Redfern at county and midlands level aswell as Paul Stone, but sadly Dusty Hare felt I wasn't big enough to play 7 in modern day rugby and I was never offered a place to train with Leicester's academy haha who am I to argue with that
You do need it, you just don't have to take it as a supplement. It helps supply energy to muscle. That's why its so useful in weight lifting but not as potent in other sports apart from sprinting. It isn't artificial either as it's naturally found in red meats and other foods.
LOL...relatively few people could: A- afford to go the route to becoming a pro driver B- Actually have the inclination to drive a race-spec car and take turns at high speeds. Your definition of 'driving fast' is doing slightly over the limit on the motorway. "to play footbal you would need not only to pay it urself but make sure your friends are also interested in it." You actually hit the nail on the head in this sentence. Outside of America, virtually NO-ONE IS INTERESTED.
@MDI49 I've actually played both as well but football is more demanding in different areas. Rugby is more demanding in other areas. However, the positions in football are so specialized that actually some positions are more demanding than any rugby position.
I've played football and rugby. Rugby is simply a more physically demanding sport. The hits in football are bigger, thanks to pads and helmets, but 80 minutes with no re-entry, a bigger field, less stoppages, and more demanding penalties makes rugby a lot more difficult.
yes i was that is how it is usually done in high school as most schools, at least where i live, dont have teams large enough to field separated offense and defense. body-armor and helmets that most cants afford. way do you think it is restrictive? the only thing you can do in rugby that you cant in football is kick the ball and score during a play which is not a field goal.
alright dude u got on any acadamies yet? you sure make yourself out to be great....all your records reminds me of my player journal i keep myself with all my weight and crap in it!
@superninjapenguinH Again American Foorball is purely Anaerobic... You play 10 second plays... and then teams are switched/// Rugby lasts 80 minutes.. When you're not exploding, or making hits you are running/sprinting etc... And you are expected to play full 80 minutes
ive noticed the same thing, props are never the loudmouth idiot, well the good ones aren't. most are just down to earth good guys, probably because they do most of the grunt work and you have to be pretty humble to do that :P
@Crazylalalalala Im not so shore about high school football player... but American Footbal is a different game.... Rugby players need to push output for 80 minutes... So it is both aerobic and anearobic threshholds... In American football plays only lasts max 10 seconds before teams switched... it as all anaerobic workloads
Absolutely agree. I play both but it bugs the shit out of me when people say that the pads in football make the sport a "pussy sport". People internationally never give American Football the credit it deserves as a tough sport. They also think that when were in the huddle, were "taking a break".
zero padding in rugby (scrum caps and material shoulder pads hardly count) its just the body that is used as the battering ram. Rugby is one of the best sports ever invented!
in football a Defensvie team player plays defense because they like to hit people more then the like to score. Offensive team players like to push people around or run them over then tackle them.
@joeho87 ye but he didnt make the lift and never was going to make it. 220kg without a bench to sit on is much harder if you go down far enough. power squat basically. what im saying is the bench takes out the eccentric phase and he helps him on the concentric so why put on 220 when you can only lift 200-210 on your own and your not even training the eccentric
@trulypimpinhard mate great rugby league players struggle to play rugby union, so average NFL players would struggle its so much more technical. The hits are only bigger coz the laws are more relaxed in the NFL.
Been to that gym in Auckland, it's awesome, everything you need!
inspiration !
ur the man bro
Niiicee Hayman!!
Carl Haymans the MAN!!!
"you don't want to go heavy, aye"
"why's that?"
"cos I'll just pump all the weights here in this gym!
what do ya say bout that?!"
It was uploaded in 2007
that officially impressive
Ahhk, thanks. I just made a rep team for league and so one of the trainers is gonna run us through a few workouts etc. Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to mention it.
Ahhk, thanks for the info. I've never done weights so I just had no idea what the difference was etc.
Ma'a is tooooo funny! Haha!
asley jones is a cool guy, we got to work with him in PE class when he came to town
Nice box squats!!
@Thushal92 could i ask where are you from just out of curiosity?
Damn.. thats a good song...
Hayman is strong, 3 reps with 220 and without a belt or anything...
what is the diference between a box squat and a "full parallel free weight squat"?
Rugby is a marathon of contact sports. You smash and wrestle the ball when it goes
Carl just warming up I hope 220 is a warm up
i think i started when i was 15 and that was about average in our football team.

Can anyone tell me why hayman sits on the bench at the bottom of his squat.
@fixdeluxe1 You are right to a point. You can use the technique in the video to work your chest muscles only.
meeean vid quality
anyone know where to get this tune? checked itunes and nothing
@sarm4538 What position did you play in football and what college?
ok thanks. Is there really much of a difference? It would only change slightly wouldn't it?
Hayman lifted 3 of ME!!
Hayman's squat scared the shit outta me! Would not wanna prop opposite of him...
anyone know who/what the music is by?
That's alright, so am I! :)
well said
anyone know the soundtrack ??
"u don't want me to go heavy aye"
"why's that?"
"cos i'll just pump all the weights here in this gym! whadya say bout that?!"
where can i get this song to dowload? aprt from Itunes.
I am the same size and have the same body type as Daniel Carter. I wonder how much he can bench press... Does anyone know ?
damn hayman is crazy strong. how much was that in pounds?
@rugbyking32 thanx bro... !!!!! ill keep that in my mind .......! thanx again!
Rugby and American football are both good sports, I have played both of them. They both require lots of strength and toughness. However, football players generally have to be bigger but rugby players have to have more stamina because of all the running.
can anyone give me the title of the song that starts at 0:06

nonu...man huge
Also I don't think people are taking into consideration that his speed and agility for his size is phenomenal !!!
Nonu is too damn big! What a man!
whats this song?
LOL...relatively few people could:

No...with a fishbowl
Karl hay man was a one off

hayman is a monster.
see the bar bending over his back? xP
@trulypimpinhard do you play rugby by any chance?
non-stop jogging and only hitting another person ones in a while while in football you hit every single play at full speed.
they are both great games.
551 lbs to be sharply exact!
Carl use open hand grip makes ur body relax
@biglittlejujitsuman
He's spotting him in case he fails with the lift. 220kg box squat is much harder than a regular 220kg squat.
Thumbs up for Maa' Nonu
Im not quiet sure about your facts but that is impressive
holy shit who's the sasquatch doing the squats?! Jesus Christ you breed em' big down in Kiwi land dont you. thats awesome.

@superninjapenguinH Again American Foorball is purely Anaerobic... You play 10 second plays... and then teams are switched///

nonu's accent is the best new zealand accent, wheres it from?
Carl Hayman would eat The Franks brothers for breakfast!
Bring the money back

ive noticed the same thing, props are never the loudmouth idiot, well the good ones aren't. most are just down to earth good guys, probably because they do most of the grunt work and you have to be pretty humble to do that :P
englands andy sheridan is said to be squating roughly 300 kg, and benching somewhere around 230 kg, he is a fucking tank
@Crazylalalalala Im not so shore about high school football player... but American Footbal is a different game....

Terrible quality. Does NZ have HD yet?
Absolutely agree. I play both but it bugs the shit out of me when people say that the pads in football make the sport a "pussy sport". People internationally never give American Football the credit it deserves as a tough sport. They also think that when were in the huddle, were "taking a break".
@savozi yeah looks bigger than Hayman's lol
core work we do it in nz u18s
@willausten guess that's why he's playing in France ;)
there called box squats for a start.
I expected Ma Nonu to have a much deeper voice...still, wouldn't say that to his face though haha
Yeh !! looks liek added 40kg ontop of his bodyweight! mental ennit!!
zero padding in rugby (scrum caps and material shoulder pads hardly count) its just the body that is used as the battering ram. Rugby is one of the best sports ever invented!
hayman's beard adds on another 2kg's lol
you dont need rest.rugby everyday day!
I wish those guys were at my gym!!! Do the haka!!

Totally different.
...to ground, you rush back and forth in defences
@rugbyking32 ahha tht's cool man
nonu's legs are so big!
WTF?? Hayman's an animal, he looks like a UFC fighter! Maybe career move after rugby?
@mandrilmalo ever seen them perform? they're the best rugby team in the world... i wanna see you train at this high class level, though.
in football a Defensvie team player plays defense because they like to hit people more then the like to score. Offensive team players like to push people around or run them over then tackle them.
