Thanks for watching, and wishing all a great day!
Great. I needed this video. Perfect timing. Thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
I love the realness to you showing how the mix that had less cement in it being harder to work with. I will remember that if I'm having issues
That is a fact. Cheers.
I like watching your videos, it's interesting to see the differences over in the states. I'm a plasterer in England, was taught by a guy who worked until 73 yrs old and had done it since he was 16. he knew so much.
Morning Andrew, thank you,
You sure you're not referring to me? I started about this age and often feel 75 especially after working on ladders all day, what we're doing here is fun as it's on solid ground.

I use this method often and picked it up from you. Thanks Kirk.
@@BigB2316SB Morning Big B, lol cheers
Loving your videos Kirk. As a time served plasterer (25+years) in Scotland its great to see your way of working and most importantly your attitude of 'it's ok we can make it work'....
Sometimes these jobs are affected by time, weather, materials, and a great tradesman never gets beat. I recently had to use Hawk n trowel to form corners on a chimney stack as had no corner beads on the roof and mud was stiffening. worked a treat...Keep it up mate 😃🙋
Howdy Graeme Walter fron the UK, thank you,
we do improvise a lot, stiff or sanding mud no problem, soup for mud no worries, but I do prefer rich mud, but, where's the fun in that?
Cheers you Plasterers from the UK who invented plastering or as you guys say there,

Happy holidays from the Giordano clan
Another great video as always. With the great Maestro Kirk and family. Nice corner. I too did a corner that way on a friend's house and also dealt with the Sandy mud issue because my friend bought some premix stucco from the store and I wanted the mud a little richer as well. lol. but we make it work. have a great day. ☺
Howdy Daniel, I yelled at looooou earlier so he tried to get even but making me appear incompetent in this show and tell, it almost worked, but I was on to his tricks.
I told him there was a gal across the street checking him out, he forgot he was mad at me and mixed normal mud for the second corner.

haha. the ol' tit for a tat lol. hilarious 😂😂

@Hugo Cristiano I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out now.

@Hugo Cristiano it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy!

PVC Angle beads for the outside and galvanized or stainless steel for the inside. Some guides also would help
Good evening CPS, we use corner aid which is galvanized, but that would be too easy.

Here in the UK we have lots of different additives we can add to the mix, retardants , plasticisers etc.. To make the muck more playable , how about over there.
Howdy Jason, we do here also, like bags of lime or gibco, but I usually rely on my brothers 30 years of mixing to make perfect mud,
sometimes he does sometime he does not,
he's beginning to show sign of sometimers, or is it old timers?
Louuuu, has a 50 gallon drum of water and he's supposed to be counting shovels, but again sometimes kicking in.

Easiest and best way. Throw the mud on, you'll get mud on both sides, then trowel over. When dry enough you dont just float and be a cowboy, you screet then patch then float. My lesson for the day.
Morning Boss Dude, I'm not in the mood to educate you at this time as you are to be too rude and I'm too busy.
This is BTW, ignorant advice by an idiot no doubt.

Mastering Plastering for the beginner’s to experts
I noticed the plywood platform for your mud. Does it draw some moisture from the mud? Do you have to take that into consideration?
Howdy David, yes it does suck up the water from our stucco, this is always a consideration.
Wishing you and yours a happy and prosperous New Year.

what are you using for stucco?
Hi Quint, just regular Quikrete portland stucco with three times as much sand to stucco amount.
Very good kirk, i also did something similar with my hawk and trowel (gypsum plaster). Will your corner be just as strong with or without one of those corner aids? (i think that's the name of it)
Howdy Goldenalex, doubtful, however, these corners are stronger than necessary and without the corner wire bead showing.
If I leave a corner with 1/2 in on each side, this is a very strong corner, will it stop a heavy wheelbarrow full of dirt from gouging it,
Good question, glad you asked, if hit just right again doubtful, but even with a corner it won't stop the perfect storm of the dreaded wheel barrel or a refrigerator on an out of control dolly from chipping.
Cheers,
kirk giordano rendering
hi Kirk,do you not use plastic or metal floating beads on your external angles
Morning Chloe, interesting comment, the stucco not going to jump from the board to the wall by itself, you're thinking of the old movie "I dream of jeannie starring Barbara Eden"
Cheers,
kirk giordano Rendering
I want to work for you. Love all your videos ..
You did use the boning liquid (wild creek)
Good morning, the bonding agent I prefer is called "weld Crete" sold by Larson's.
You can purchase at plastering material yards as not sold yet at the big hardware stores.

Sound advice for plastering issues from your favorite stucco geeks
How come you didn’t use the bonding liquid
Good morning Farid, we did, however when dry it does not show on a brick surface.
BTW, if a wall of brick, cement, cinderblocks are pressure washed well ne stucco will adhere by a macanical bond where no bonding agant is reguired. Only misting the wall with a garden hose is necessary for proper suction from existing to new.

No lime in the mix??
Howdy Mary, the bags have lime added with the cement plaster, we just add sand and water.

Easier to just use a angle bead
Good morning Gut Dude, no doubt, I do explain and show this method also in other video's.
