Same. I'm glad they put it after the TWINE music video by Garbage. In my room, I always rewinded it to just a f e w seconds before it started, but after the music video. So, for me, this was the start of the VHS.
I went to a charity premier of a James Bond film. Behind me was a seat reserved for someone. Desmond was interviewed about his role and he was asked what Q stood for. Desmond replied it was Quartermaster. I later discovered that the seat had been reserved for Desmond and as he sat he said hello to me. I was over the moon because I loved him as Q in the bond movies he made. The world is not enough
For as long as civilization survives, every generation will have millions of new fans of Desmond. There will always be debates about the best Bond, but never about the best Q.
This video brings me to tears every time I see it. I miss him in the movies so much! There was only one Q and no one will ever compare to him! R.I.P. Desmond Llewelyn 😞
If my memory serves well this was one of the opening media on my World is Not Enough VHS. Always brought me to tears watching it because thanks to my dad's mother I was brought up watching all the Bond films from Dr No to The Living Daylights (I already had Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough). He was a great man and actor and I still miss him terribly. Oh...and Die Another Day SUCKED
0:55 I love how James examines the sub sandwich as if it's a gadget that could shoot a stinger missile or a dart out then finds out it's just a boring sub sandwich "Don't touch that, it's my lunch".... Gets me Everytime 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Desmond Llewelyn’s best film was undoubtedly “Licence To Kill.” After that, we have “You Only Live Twice,” “For Your Eyes Only,” and “Goldfinger.” Although gadgets played a very minor role in “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,” Q displayed a remarkable rapport with 007 at the wedding finale. However, running “Nobody Does It Better” throughout gives this a maudlin edge. Grates on one’s nerves after awhile!
I’ve seen this video several times and I’m just now noticing that there are no clips from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in it. Still, a very nice tribute to an indispensable actor and character.
To me to this day, Desmond Llewellyn will always be the main version of the character Q from James Bond, but at least Roger Moore and Sean Connery are with him as well. At least they can all be together and rest in peace you guys amen.
My god what’s bond doing!? Q: I think he’s attempting reentry sir (And just seeing Roger Moore’s smile just perfectly made that scene at the end of moonraker)
I went through my bond phase in the early 2000s, you know, when it was still cool to be into the Bond films before craig 🤮. My my mom got me the collection of bond movies on video tape, but the first on
Craig was dead in the water without the camraderie which powered the top drawer Bond movies. (He had his moments but I probably won't revisit Craig often.)

He had such a presence when he appeared and impeccable timing. A scene stealer. So much missed.
I’m impressed he actually started playing the character at 50 yrs old!!
The greatest supporting character in action movie history, and it's not even close.
The nostalgia of watching this on VHS.
YES! With the world enough video
Great they found a way to get this out on TH-cam asap it happened right way now rip Desmond Llewelyn at 86 tragic and true peace
1:00 *Don't touch that! It's my lunch!* My favorite part. I remember watching this tribute on The World's Not Enough VHS

This song fits so well with this tribute.
The spy who loved me

Desmond will never be replaced as Q. Regardless of what actor takes his spot, he truly was the best.
“Q, have I ever let you down?”
“Frequently.”
Forgive me father I have sinned, That's putting it midly 007! Legend
Don't touch that! That's my lunch!
They are all great but the way he says 007 will always make me laugh.
If it hadn't been for Q-Branch, you would've been dead long ago!
Somebody seems to have stuck a knife in my wallet.
Oh, they missed you. What a pity!
For as long as civilization survives, every generation will have millions of new fans of Desmond. There will always be debates about the best Bond, but never about the best Q.
Rest In Peace Desmond Llewelyn. Nobody did it better.
Our beloved "Q" 🥲👍✝️🎗❤🎬
i remember this from the world is not enough vhs
Right
I even remember feeling emotion about this tribute at such a young age
@georgematthews5797 same here. Did you know Desmond died in a car crash? What a way to go 😞
Desmond was my personal favorite.
Nobody could truly replace him, in my opinion, but John Cleese made a good successor.
I would say the same. Seeing Q was always a highlight in the films for me.
"If you're Q, does that make him R?"
This video brings me to tears every time I see it. I miss him in the movies so much! There was only one Q and no one will ever compare to him! R.I.P. Desmond Llewelyn 😞
He will always be the definitive Q. What a hell of a great way to be remembered as an actor!
Desmond Llwelyn was the best Q ever and irreplaceble
Q is probably the single greatest gadget maker in history
indeed... no body will do like him
Kind of gets to you as Q descends at the end there. RIP Desmond Llewelyn
Such a great dude. May he rest in peace.
I grew up watching the men in this video.... we've lost Q and so many bonds. Breaks my heart, but damn do I love this franchise
Man this is the first video in years i've been loking for that has this resolution thank you it bring soo much memories!
Thank you. I was in the same predicament, that why I searched to find it and put it on you tube for other can watch.
@@dalewootton absolute legend m8!
You're the reason I love TH-cam - may Llewelyn's memory live long in all our hearts & minds.

Now that was a smashing ending, well done
Des années que je cherchais cette vidéo, découverte en bonus DVD de "The world is not enough" en 2000.
Merci beaucoup.

I tried to get it on dvd but no dice. It was on vhs.

12th of September 1914 - 19th of December 1999
He will always be remembered, put some new Q he’s great
If he were still alive....he would've made an excellent professor at Hogwarts.
When I look on Google, it says Desmond's birth year is 1914 but on the VHS tape of The World Is Not Enough, it states as 1913. Was there a mistake?
I love Q
And same with Sean conncery both r missed
So then why have senior citizen Roger Moore in the thumbnail?
Craig was dead in the water without the camraderie which powered the top drawer Bond movies. (He had his moments but I probably won't revisit Craig often.)
Probably what killed him not a good enough Q to come up with the life saving gadget.
