I know what you mean but... Gladys Knight takes some beating. Then, Sheen Easton is also up there with the top favourites. You can't fit a razor blade between them.
@@sylvester-jb3ljThere’s a funny story behind that line you may know. As they filmed in Egypt, the Egyptian government had an official on set to make sure the country wasn’t being slagged off in the film. Consequently they couldn’t use the line. So Moore mouthed the line rather than saying it out loud, and they dubbed it over in post, the official was none the wiser! 🤣

The Spy Who Loved Me was the first Bond film I ever saw, when I was 10 and it premiered on British TV. The ratings were 22.9 million, meaning 40% of the then UK population was watching it. I've been hooked ever since.
@@dhart28Great opinion! IMO the best Bond actors are Timothy Dalton, Roger Moore, Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and George Lazenby. Daniel Craig is great. My personal favorite is Timothy Dalton.
One of the ole fella's best Bond films. I appreciate that these films were formulaic and repetitive at that time, but they have a certain charm. Charm that's just not around anymore.
Best Bond Movies from the 80s, never to be repeated, cheers to all of you who were born in the 60s and grew up on these amazing times like me, we had the best of the best.
Roger Moore was a joy to behold. Always charming and never took himself too seriously. I had the pleasure of doing busness with him on a screenplay I wrote for him, and he was the most kind and helpful individual I ever encountered in the film world. A million best wishes, Roger.. Indeed, you are the best..
I’ll never forget when I first saw this movie as a kid. As soon as the title song started playing, I got chills. I thought that it was the most beautiful love song my young ears had ever heard. During my next viewing of the film on vhs, I put a cassette recorder next to the tv-speakers to record the song, and I listened to it endlessly.
One Bond persona that is sadly overlooked is Rick Sylvester. He did what no one ever dreamed of doing. For 12 seconds you could hear a pin drop in the theater. When the Union Jack deployed, the British theaters erupted with cheers, clapping, and laughter. Rick really was the hero in that film, and set the stage for excitement during the rest of the movie.
How right you are!!... Another thing that changed for the worst...The criteria used to select a Bond Girl has gone way down.( The Daniel Craig series).... They all look like stylized heroin addicts and as plain as day....lol
The Goldfinger of the Roger Moore era. Beautiful song. Best Pre-Title sequence. Badass Bond Girl(Anya/Agent Triple X). Best Bond Villain Henchman(Jaws). Nobody does it Better indeed. 😌 R.I.P. Sir Roger Moore and Richard Kiel(who played Jaws). ♥️♥️

I watch this, and the Moonraker version every morning when I get into work. Yea, it makes me cry because I miss those days, and it kinda grounds me in purpose.
Goldfinger, The Living Daylights Never Say Never Again, From Russia With Love all better films. I will rate Jaws as Bond’s best villain along with Goldfinger and Scaramanga ( Christopher Lee)
@@lawrence1318 Likely the best Roger Moore Bond film along with the Man with the Golden Gun, but Dr No, Goldfinger and From Russia with Love are on another planet to those.
@@deletebilderberg Think of it this way: If the series was started with Connery and then left out Moore and went straight to the others (Dalton, Brosnan etc) it wouldn't have been anywhere near as successful as if it had left out Connery and then went straight to Moore and the others. Moore is the Elvis of the franchise. All the others are expendable: Moore is not.
