    I'm a huge Bond fan and I've seen a million montages of clips and soundbites from the series but this is well and truely the best I've ever seen. Puts the Academy Awards tribute to shame, and rightfully so.

      I have been a fan of the Bond franchise since they began. My friends and I did our own version of 'Secret Agent Man', and I edited images from all but one of the films to it....
      Enjoy...

    Ugh, if they had shown this at the Oscars, then have Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig step out in tuxedos, it would have been one of the most epic Oscar moments in history. They were all still alive and well at the time. Such a missed opportunity.

    • @QKvox
      @QKvox 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      That would be amazing, i have a cool idea for when the next bond actor gets revealed where they do the gun-barrel sequence but on stage and with an unevenly cut red curtain for the blood

    • @007johnsnake
      @007johnsnake 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      That only shows how little interested the Academy is with the James Bond franchise. As a Bond fan, I was really disappointed with its tribute video in that Oscar ceremony.

    • @TheDoubleD441

      How the next bond should be announced, have the remaining actors on stage (Lazenby, Craig and Brosnan) and then we cut to the new gunbarrel with the new actor and then the new actor comes out on stage

    Reason why I love this tribute more than the one they showed at the Oscars: this tribute features ten times more clips from Dalton's Bond films than in the Oscars. Dalton deserves more credit for playing JB.

      Timothy Dalton makes a great Time-Lord in Doctor Who. Even in an interview, Dalton knew all the names of the actors who played various incarnations of the Doctor including Hartnell or the great Tom Baker. I also liked Dalton in the movie "The Rocketeer."

    "Made weak by time..."
    (Roger Moore, who stayed too long in the role)
    "...and fate..."
    (Timothy Dalton, who never got to do a 3rd Bond movie because of legal issues)
    ABSOLUTELY AWESOME EDITING. Kudos.

    • @thejesster1104
      @thejesster1104 9 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      I always noticed how well edited it was, when Dalton's eyes lift up simultaneously with the word "fate", seemingly responding to the word but I hadn't thought of the context that he never got his planned next movie (most of us know that Dalton was originally going to be in GoldenEye but I also read somewhere that in around 1991 they were planning for a film called "Property of a Lady", also with Dalton. So realistically, he could have been in at least 2 more films) due to what some would call "fate". I also had noticed before "When worlds collide and days are dark" shows the first time we see Dalton as Bond, who as we know, was the "darkest" Ian Fleming faithful portrayal up until that point.
      Good job catching the Roger Moore "made weak by time" moment. I hadn't noticed that but I guess I could add that it's fitting how "heroic hearts" lines up with Lazenby in OHMSS/Tracy's death, that being easily one of the most emotional and heart full moments in the series!

    • @stuffedsheepshead
      @stuffedsheepshead 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Jesse Bond Indeed. It's upsetting that Dalton only got to do two films. Many people consider him to be a poor Bond for reasons lacking such nuance. They say he was bad because he was only in two movies; there is no correlation there. Of course the change from a lighthearted Roger Moore to a more serious and dark portrayal that Timothy Dalton brought, would've been jarring for some. Had Dalton got his third film, I'm sure many of the audience who disliked him initially would've warmed to him. He certainly put a great deal more effort into the role than his predecessors, reading all of the Fleming novels and trying to figure out who this man was. Shame.

    • @cornelisvandijkhuizen
      @cornelisvandijkhuizen  8 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    • @BatsAndNights

      @oliverholmes-gunning5372 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Brian Lindsey I don't know if it was on purpose or not, but another one I noticed was that "but strong in will" was superimposed over a shot of Craig, who keeps valiantly returning to the series despite feeling he is too old to keep up the necesary energy.

    • @needamuffin
      @needamuffin 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matthew Williams Everyone assumes Christoph will be Blofeld. It's been confirmed that he will play Bond's ski instructor. I know that given the circumstances, keeping Blofeld a secret would be good, but I'm hopeful that that secret is kept for several more movies. You were aware of his presence in the first few movies, but you don't ever actually see him until a fair ways into the series. I would love to see a similar thing happen this time.

    • @needamuffin
      @needamuffin 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Havel Clyde A part of me feels this way too. The older movies were goo and all, but Casino Royale is my favorite movie of all time for a reason. It stripped away the corny dialog, the ridiculous gadgets, and left only pure, unadulterated Bond broken by what he had become. You can almost see it happening in real time with Vesper. One minute he's in love, the next "The job is done. The bitch is dead." I'm sure SPECTRE won't be as campy as Die Another Day and it will be handled well, but I certainly don't miss those aspects.

    • @stuffedsheepshead

      Caesar Sterling That's exactly my opinion. I was disappointed by Skyfall as it abandoned the idea of Bond being a cold blooded killer for the British government. It's like the producers want to return to the Brosnan/Moore era.

    The franchise which reunites all the family and has something for everyone.
    Romance, comedy, action, edge of your seat moments, some good twists and very good eye candy in all this 50 years.
    for woman: Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan( my personal favorites) and guys have the Bond girls for every taste: Curvaceous, thin, french, Italian, Asian, American blondes, Brunettes, red heads, sophisticated and classy or your typical american Bimbo.

    This is completely outstanding. Just want to add this Bond fan's voice to the many here who have already let you know this far outshines the Oscar clip package. Really, really first rate.

    The cutting is perfect, don't worry. The dialogue makes it all the stronger. I watch this every now and then. Whenever I feel I need my fix of James Bond I watch your clip first and then I'm ready for a marathon.
