Amanda, I’d like to see a sock mending tutorial. For Finish It February, I plan to start+finish a pair of socks and finish my Nightshift shawl and a square for my Tunisian crochet blanket which is my only long-term WIP. I’ll also be working on a Weekender Light and hope to finish the body by the end of month.
For the game night - if you also have some Euro-style adult board games, it would be easier for knitters to participate because they’re turn-based as opposed to video games.
My maternal grandmother was Grandma Shorty (she was very short), and my paternal grandmother was Grandma O (which was not any of her initials). Although I have some hibernating projects, none of them is planned to be picked back up in February. Now that you've mentioned it, though, maybe I'll pick up one of the smaller ones - like a second mitt with a lace cuff that I'd like to finally be able to wear. Thanks.
I plan to finish my Hitchhiker Shawl and/or my first Curling Mist Sock. And now I have this song stuck in my head, "White silver bells, upon a slender stalk. Lily of the Valley on my garden walk. Oh don't you wish, that you could hear them sing. That will only happen when the fairies sing."
I always love watching and was delighted that you chose my opinion question this time. There are so many facets to Ravelry and hearing your favorites was great. For finish it February, I have a pair of socks for my grandson’s birthday, and an adorable crochet dress for my granddaughter to finish. A stretch goal would be to finish my cozy memories log cabin mash up that I started in 2018 🤣 - OK that’s just embarrassing….
So I started a blanket for my oldest kid that needed to be done back in 2022. My love note that I started that same year and a comfort fade that I yup started in 2022. I will definitely be joining the finish it February.
I am snowed / iced in and this podcast was very good medicine! Thanks. In February I hope to finish the honey moss shawl (Andrea Mowry) which has been languishing on my needles for a loooooong time.
I had no idea that Sylvia Robinson was the Mickey and Sylvia song! I sing it to myself all the time 😂 My Wild Angelica socks need to be my Finish in February project. They've been on the needles for three years.
I have too many wips! But I am going to keep a pair of mittens downstairs in my tv chair, and an Irish Hiking Scarf upstairs at the computer, where I watch knitting podcasts. And I will try to concentrate on finishing those 2 projects, then pick another 2 wips to concentrate on. I never miss your podcast..I enjoy it very much. I love that skein of Lily of the Valley!
I want to finish my Hermoine Everyday socks and start as many more socks as I can 😊 Lily of the Valley is my favorite flower. The yarn captures the color perfectly.
I have lots of WIPs and so many kits so I am doing a WIP and kit finish along this year. My favorite Ravelry aspect is yarn ideas. I have a sizeable stash so it’s fun to see if my stash yarn has been used on a pattern that I want to knit.
Good morning Kathleen, Jen and Amanda! Thanks again for another inspiring and enjoyable podcast! Happy New Year! Congratulations MeMe 🌸 Amanda! Had fun shopping at Yarnia yesterday... thanks Kathleen , Hailey and Saysha! Great Funko!!! For "Finishing February" I need to finish my🎉 flax sweater! Happy Knitting!
One of my 2024 goals is to focus on fewer wips at a time so that I feel like I'm making progress. I think in Feb I would love to finish my Eastwind jacket,m because then maybe it will get some wear this winter
I don’t run many wips one pair of socks, one sweater and maybe a hat or a cushion cover, so I’ll finish whatever’s on my needles. I ADORE your videos. Y’all are so much fun.
My February Finish - I have two sweaters, the Trestle Tee and the Chalet Days pullover. Both are 75 percent complete so no reason why I shouldn’t be successful!!
Another plus of looking at Ravelry projects is that you see the pattern in different colors. That can make a big difference! Sometimes the pattern page features a sample that doesn’t show the stitch pattern well, or you can be distracted by the designer’s color choices that you don’t like.
So true! I completely agree. I would love to be a freelance advisor to designers on which photos they should use to show off their patterns in the best possible way. I'm surprised by the choices even some very well known designers make in this way more often than you would think! ~K🧶
I love this podcast and my LYS! In February, I need to finish three projects: a sweater for one of my BFF's daughter, a sweater for myself and a shawl that I have left on the needles for +8 years!
Happy New Year Ladies! Congratulations on becoming a grandma Amanda🎉. I plan to finish my Guernsey Sweater by Sandnes GARN. I become bored so have stopped and start about 3x to knit up hats, cowls and currently, my first pair of fingerless mitts by Inese Sang.
Hello Ladies! I just found you. Thanks for the tips on advanced search in Ravelry, I learned how to make my searches better. I would love to finish my Vanilla Sweater by the end of February. If I don’t finish it, that will be OK just as long as it fits nicely when it is done.
A 1000% Amanda about your brain can shut down while hanging out on Ravelry. It's not as fast pace or consumer shopping driven. You can just enjoy the hobby. It's so helpful when people post on Ravelry! Game changer and so appreciated! Kathleen, that funko pop is soooo fun! I'll tag you in a couple but my son caught on and both he and my husband thought it was so fun! Thanks for sharing! I have a lot to finish like my Moonbumps and Tesselated Vest, but I had to cast on new things too haha - Kimberly
My Finish it February will be my Pink Velvet sweater. It was in time out because I finished one sleeve, tried it on and it was too tight (I found Andrea Mowrey’s patterns are always like that) so had to rip it all out and put it in time out! 😔 Now I just want it done!
Happy New Year .. I was up there the week after Christmas … beautiful shop . For finish February I am going to complete my Piosa cardigan .. I only have sleeves and button band to go. I. started it at the beginning of covid … and don’t know why I haven’t finished it yet ….
I am excited for Finish It February! I am planning to finish my Inclinations Cowl. I got stuck because I have to make some modifications due to not being able to accurately calculate how much yarn I was going to need. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️. I just need to spend the 15 minutes thinking and calculating and get on with it. February sounds like a perfect month to get it done in!
My finish it February project is a sweater that I started in 2020 that I wanted to try my hand at designing for myself (it's been ripped out and re-knit at least 3 or 4 times now 😵💫) I am up to the armhole decreases for set in sleeves and it has been a big challenge!
I’m a monogamous knitter! I don’t have anything to list for Finish It February. I am working on a pair of socks for my sister’s birthday in February, does that count?🤣😂 I would love the flowers sock yarn, what a great colorway for lace socks!
My project for #FinishItFebruary is a Kolorblok shawl using mini skeins inspired by Taylor Swift album covers! Very excited about Amanda's vest pattern!
In Feb i hope to finish a sunshine baby blanket for the first great grandchild of a friend. My rav name is irishgirl1. I adore your podcast. I get many ideas, and am always entertained. You are a hoot!
I started a pressed flowers shawl that was put on hold for a wedding and holiday knitting. That will be my finish it February. I’ve never heard of Finish it February. Is it something more formal or just a fun way to get on top of things?
We first heard of it through Roxanne Richardson, but upon a bit of Googling, it looks like there are a few stores/brands/podcasters that have done something with that tagline. Alliteration makes things so catchy! ~K🧶😊
Haha, no, it’s Amanda, but the AI “predicts” how I want my name spelled and threw in another i. 🤣 It seems to do short names well but struggles with longer ones. ~A🥰
My husband mentioned that AI has a hard time with type in general - which is so odd to me, because the specific data is right there... If you look closely most of the boxes say Chronicles of "Yannia" rather than "Yarnia"! ~K🧶

I hope to hear it in Intermediate class tomorrow! ~K🧶

Oh, 2018 is not so long ago! 😂 Enjoy your projects thanks for submitting your question! ~K🧶
Kathleen your sweater is sooooo beautiful. Thank you for showing it to us.
Thank you!!
My February finish is absolutely going to be my Habitation Throw, which I started in 2022 from an Advent.
So I started a blanket for my oldest kid that needed to be done back in 2022. My love note that I started that same year and a comfort fade that I yup started in 2022. I will definitely be joining the finish it February.

My Wild Angelica socks need to be my Finish in February project. They've been on the needles for three years.
I will be starting a pair of socks probably next week and want them finished in February.
I'm going to try and finish a knitted item. I am a crocheter so this is a huge challenge! Congrats on your promotion to Mimi Amanda!!!
Sounds like a great plan!
Okay Jenn, I love, love, love the yarn you are working with. What is it?
It's Berroco Dash!
You all look so cute in your knits!
Thank you! 😊

Good motivation to finish my First Frost capelet.
I would love to knit s sweater from a pattern I bought but never started. Thanks for the update on your projects.

I began the mystery Do Ewe Yoke sweater. I plan to finish it in February.
Love you ladies! I need to finish my infinity scarf!
Hi Pam!
I want to finish my Hermoine Everyday socks and start as many more socks as I can 😊 Lily of the Valley is my favorite flower. The yarn captures the color perfectly.

Hi Maureen - so good to see you as always! ~K🧶
One of my 2024 goals is to focus on fewer wips at a time so that I feel like I'm making progress. I think in Feb I would love to finish my Eastwind jacket,m because then maybe it will get some wear this winter
That's always good motivation, isn't it!

Thank you so much! 😊😊😊

That is a big one! Do you post your projects on Ravelry? We'd love to see it!
Red leg, green foot for the socks Jen❤
My February finish is another sweater and a few hats to put in the donation chest at my LYS.
Nice plans!

Hi - welcome! We agree - it's great to use Finish it February for motivation, but not at the expense of having a piece you're happy with!
A 1000% Amanda about your brain can shut down while hanging out on Ravelry. It's not as fast pace or consumer shopping driven. You can just enjoy the hobby. I really really want to finish “The Rebel’s Last Stand” sweater for my husband. I started January 1 and he’s size 3x so good luck to me 😉🤞
That is commitment!
I am want to finish my sweater that I am working on.
My Finish it February will be my Pink Velvet sweater. It was in time out because I finished one sleeve, tried it on and it was too tight (I found Andrea Mowrey’s patterns are always like that) so had to rip it all out and put it in time out! 😔 Now I just want it done!
I have so many WIP’s I need to finish, that I could add to the “Finish it February” list. My problem is I keep casting on new things.
Believe me, we get that!
Happy New Year .. I was up there the week after Christmas … beautiful shop . For finish February I am going to complete my Piosa cardigan .. I only have sleeves and button band to go. I. started it at the beginning of covid … and don’t know why I haven’t finished it yet ….

I’m planning on casting on a cardigan for myself in a few days & I’m sure it’ll be way into February before it’s finished..if then😆
Any progress is good!

You can do it!
My daughter is def a Jen. Only I tend to call her Jennifer no Jenny for her.

First time viewer- you had me a knitting funko pops. Where do I get one of those 😉
Aren't the great! There's a link to the site I used to make them in the show notes! ~K🧶
In Feb i hope to finish a sunshine baby blanket for the first great grandchild of a friend.
My rav name is irishgirl1. I adore your podcast. I get many ideas, and am always entertained. You are a hoot!
Thank you!
Happy New Year Ladies. For Finish February i need to finish my Sunday sweater. I only have 1 1/2 sleeves to go - what am I waiting for?
😅 Happy New Year

My daughter Amanda also hates Mandy. I was wondering why the box of Amanda’s character says Amandia. Is that how you spell it?
Haha, no, it’s Amanda, but the AI “predicts” how I want my name spelled and threw in another i. 🤣 It seems to do short names well but struggles with longer ones. ~A🥰
