Happy New Year Lesley, himself and family. The only problem with selling my knitting machine is….I can’t use the term…whirly whirly machine anymore. I need to find something else i can use that name on 😂😂 funny how we catch on to things we hear others saying. My mum’s best friend of over 70 years before they died, always asked when she spoke to me on the phone or in person “how you diddling” i loved that. I think the doilies are fabulous 😂😂They are my sense of humour. I made a hat from a pattern on ravelry that says the F word all over it. For my daughter’s partner. He wears it when he is on site and gets a lot of laughs. I can’t modify to the extent you do. But i always modify the length of the body or the sleeves to fit me how i like them. I started the Rug sweater on the 30th and i will be modifying that so i hope i can enter that? The domino star afghan looks very interesting. I like that. Happy crafting back at you xxx
Hi Pip. Love the sound of the hat - I bet it is much coveted. I had originally said no wips in the MAL, but I think everything from Christmas Eve onwards would make sense, so please do enter it. Cheers and Happy new year xx
And Many Happy Returns to you Lesley. Love listening to you while knitting, so want to say thank you too for being there. Wonderful to see all your creations - certainly a very productive year for you, and not forgetting your spinning projects.. May 2024 be just as good, and full of health and happiness xxx
Organisation is overvalued, I'm sure... Looking forward to seeing your spinning, too - did you ever move your wheel back to your sitting room? I don't think you did, but remember it was an idea at one point xx
My husband bought me crochet and Tunisian crochet magazines for Christmas, with a free gift of a Tunisian crochet hook with 30cm plastic cable and stopper. 😊. I will have more time for knitting and crochet this year than last, which comprised a lot of hospital visits, procedures and major surgery. I joined a Colostomy and Stoma support group on Facebook. Lots of members are from the US and, because my rectum was removed, I am now... 😅 Barbie Butt (men are Ken Butt). Wishing you a Happy New Year, Les, from me and Scarlett 🎉 ❤
Hi Christine - given the positive publicity that Barbie has received in the last year, that seems like a good name. Sorry that you've been through so much, but glad that you have come through it, and that you've found a support group, too - it makes a lot of difference. Good luck with your Tunisian Crochet adventures - don't forget to check out www.youtube.com/@VisitWithNanaAndPapa if you don't already watch Valorie - she's running a "stretch yourself" MAL - encouraging people to try new techniques or new variations. She's also an absolute expert knitter - full of tips and tricks. I hope that your health goes from strength to strength this year, and that you are able to enjoy all that you want to do. xx
I didn’t grow up with resolutions and I’m so glad that’s the case. I think it’s a bad way to live your life during the darkest days of the year. You’re a podcast was so very interesting! It also inspires me to think about getting organized. L O L.
Hi Genevieve. Organised is a relative term! My office still looks like a tip! I hadn't thought about resolutions being additional pressure during dark days - you are so right. Thanks so much and wishing you all happiness xx
Dear Lesley, I wish you a happy new year with all the good things and a lot of knitting and nice yarn! Thank you for entertaining me with your episodes! I wish you all the best! 🍀🥂
What a productive 2023 you’ve had. Very impressive FO show. More so since you’ve had a lot on your plate, 2024 looks like it will also result in many lovely FOs. Best of the New Year to you.
Thanks Frank. Compared with other years there were fewer FOs, but as I often say - it's not a race. Wishing you a very happy and healthy New Year. Thanks for being here - you are appreciated xx
You completed a bunch of knitting this year. I’ve done my share but only one garment (my very first) mostly accessories, socks, mittens, felted slippers, a boat load of hats cranked on my Addi knitter and only one hat. I’ve got 3 WIPS going but those won’t be done until next year. I love your channel and very rarely miss an episode. Thank you for sharing your crafty goodness. Onward to 2024. Wish us in the US luck we are going to need it. All the best to you.😊
Hi. Thanks so much and well done on your first garment - hope you enjoyed the process. Sounds like you've been very productive! Good luck - and wish us luck too - we are due an election and I get more and more worried about both the result and the divisions that the campaigners encourage. Let's hope that sense prevails, everywhere. Thanks and take care. Happy New Year. xx
It's mid-summer here in New Zealand, which would normally have temperatures causing sweaty hands and large projects too warm to have draping over one's lap. But this season the weather is all over the place - imagine that! - and I'm managing to knit a 4ply merino baby blanket on the cooler days, with small lightweight projects early in the day before the heat kicks in. I'm in your camp, Lesley, with lots of yarn in stash. Several bags with garment quantities, but rather too many single balls (we've always had our wool in balls here in NZ, it's only recently that skeins have appeared on the scene. Bit of a pain having to wind them up, frankly 😒) So, I appreciate your forays into striping, and plan to follow in your steps. Maybe even join in your Modification MAL! Happy 2024, Lesley, and thanks for your inspiration and humour xxx
Hi, I'm glad that the weather is enabling you to work on larger projects, but sorry that you're not getting the summer you might expect. Hope to see your projects in the MAL - I hope you enjoy making them. Thanks so much for being here and all the best for the year ahead xx
Happy New Year! I have loved all your podcasts this year and seeing all your lovely knits and spins. I love using up my oddments in stripy garments too! You are so lucky to have been gifted an alpaca experience. My daughter bought me a "trek with alpacas" experience for my birthday last year - and I had so much fun walking these gorgeous creatures around the countryside in Lancashire. They have such individual personalities, and at the end of the trek I bought some of their fleece to bring home and spin. I spun a lot of pure alpaca, and knitted it into a beautiful cowl, which is so light but incredibly warm.
Hi Rosemary - thank you - hearing your experience has got me looking forward to mine even more! I have an alpaca fleece that I've spun with in the past - I have some of it left, so should really bring that out for my next spin. Thanks for the reminder! Thanks for being here - I really appreciate it. All the best for 2024xx
Thanks Joel - I know what you mean, as I had no idea what colours would be coming out of those lovely little bags, but I am very pleased with it - I think it will get a lot of use and can see me using that pattern again. Take good care xx
I would like to thank you so much for all your weekly vlogs and podcasts. You are very good, down to earth company and I love your sense of humour. Rather than frogging your crochet boxy, could you use it as a vest over a shirt (in style right now and quite practical as it allows a jacket over top without the bulky sleeves. Just a thought. I hope your 2024 is much better for your Dad (and consequently you) than 2023 was. Warm wishes from Vancouver Canada.
Hi Margaret - lovely to hear from you. My initial thought had been to wear the Boxy as a vest - but I never did, hence the desire to add sleeves. I won't be frogging it, just adding to it. Thanks so much and wishing you all the best for the year ahead.xx
Happy new year Lesley, The slipper socks look so nice and warm. That yarn you spun look great. I like the purple/blue cowl your wearing. Love the naughty dishcloths. The make along sounds like fun. I appreciate you pushing me out of my comfort zone. You have made some beautiful projects throughout 2023. I wrote some down so I can hopefully make them. I have about 4 wips, trying to get them finished before starting another, lol (that’s never going to happen) have a great weekend. Thanks again for all that you do for us.
Hi Mary - oh, such praise and kindness! Thanks so much - I appreciate your being here. Hope you enjoy a small modification or two! Hope your New Year has started well and continues splendidly! Thanks and take good care xx
LOL, I chocked on my drink when I read it would take you 11 years to go trough your stash at this rate! You made so much, haha. Well at least you know you will be busy for over a decade 😅🤣
Ha! Sorry to cause you to choke - someone asked me once how much stash I had, so I thought I'd work it out. Hopefully it's not "Beyond Life Expectancy", but I must be careful not to reach SABLE! xx
Have a wonderful New Year. Your plans for the new year seem workable.....and maybe even some room for a "oh look,,,,,rabbit" LOL. Thank you so much for an enjoyable year for me.
Thanks Johanna - hopefully there's a bit of room for flexibility, but not enough to be distracted....squirrel! Wishing you all the best for the New Year x
I like the idea of working on a rotation for WIP’s ! Personally I don’t do too many cast ons (although sometimes feel tempted) bit I get completely overwhelmed with too many starts! I like to have about 4 maximum on the go and get them done! I think the modification KAL is a great idea and a bit different! Happy new year to you and himself and miss Heidi ❤ and thank you for all the time you devote to your videos throughout the year x
Hi Heather. Thank you for watching them! Four wips sounds like a good number - sadly my butterfly brain takes me onto the next thing far too easily. Hope you are all safe, well and avoiding the worst of the weather. Happy New Year xx
Thanks for the WIP walk through. I remember most of them 😊 I'm looking forward to the make along, there's something I made a right mess of and was able to save most of the yarn from during my Christmas Eve "frogging" party so I'll hopefully have a Christmas sweater at the end. Your cable holder can also be used as a shawl pin. Happy New Year 🎉 can't wait to see what yarn himself finds in 2024 🧶 Hugs to Heidi 🐾
Thanks so much - yes - a dual purpose bit of kit - I do love a gadget! I like the idea of a "Frogging Party" - sounds very satisfying. Thanks and all the very best to you for the year ahead xx
Hi Lesley. Wow, that was a bumper episode. Really enjoyed seeing all your wips and impending projects. I've been jotting down a few things that I'd like to make in the new year. Andy has got a couple of new base yarns for the shop, so I will be trying those out. Wishing you and himself a very happy new year. Xx
Hi Angela. Ooh - you get to be the tester of the new things - that sounds like a lot of fun. Hope you are both doing okay - here's to a good New Year. Thanks and take care xx
Thanks Liza - and thank you for the fab Christmas Card, too! It may require more than luck with my plans - but we'll see. Happy New Year and hope to see you soon xx
Happy Holidays to you. Truly enjoyed your year-end review. It was very enjoyable. So interesting to see what are going to be working on over the next year 🤪😝
Thanks Debby - It's been an odd year, but crafting has been the constant (and saving grace, at times). Thanks for being here and Happy New Year to you and yours xx
Hi there - and thank you for all the episodes this year, so many hours of pleasant knitting company! About the shawl from Skeindeer - it’s pronounced more like leasning (the y in Norwegian and Swedish is not a “why” more like the y in “symphony” or in the name “Cyril”) ”Lysning” (meaning “to put light on”) is not used in Sweden anymore as far as I know, (don’t know about Norway). But back in another era (when I was a kid😉) that was the month before the wedding, when the vicar - every Sunday for four weeks - mentioned names of couples who were to be married - and if someone knew of any hindering facts the should speak out… Hope you understand the meaning. So, basically it’s a wedding shawl, or rather a shawl for a bride to be…
Hi Carole - thank you - that's very interesting. They still do those announcements in UK churches - it's called "Reading the Banns". Thanks for your pronunciation help, too - much appreciated. Take care and all the very best xx
Happy New Year Leslie and thank you again for another endlessly enjoyable and inspiring year of podcasts. Love the MAL idea and it just so happens that my new years cast on is a sweater pattern I intend to modify from the jump. Enjoy the rest of your break and see you in the new year!🎉
Happy New Year Lesley. I have just done a binge watch catch up of all the podcasts since September including the December weekly advent episodes - was lovely to see you enjoying your advent calendars! Thankyou for keeping us entertained in your busy schedule. Glad to hear your Dad is doing so much better. I am hoping to make a start on weaving this year - I would love to see more weaving when you get time - although with all those WIPS, it seems unlikely! I was watching a podcast from a weaver who makes clothes from her fabric recently, so talented (I think t was called something like Get Weaving, with Sarah Howard) and I began to regret passing on many of my novelty yarns, as she very cleverly incorporated novelty yarn into her weaving and it was really effective...maybe that's another way of using up those novelty yarns you have?
Hiya. Thanks so much for watching - you are very kind. Using the novelty yarns in weaving has been suggested, and is something that I might look into. Thanks for the weaving channel suggestion - that might inspire me to get the loom out again! I hope you get started on your weaving and enjoy it - I feel like a very inexperienced weaver (lots of scarves and not much else), so will look to expand my repertoire. Thanks again and take good care xx
Hope 2024 is a better year for you himself and especially your dad. When I’m plying when I have that little bit or a big bit at the end I usually just wind the extra into a center pull ball reattach the end and ply it all together if you need another option of something to do with your leftover single ply’s. As always glad to see you happy new year stay safe and well
I’m using a term that I first heard from a TH-camr called Pearl together. When trying to organize anything really but your stash, your notions etc. it’s called getting your poop in a group.😅
Hi Lesley, have a safe, heal and fun 2024. I was watching some video on the Gideon method for working through your wips. It was set on a twelve hour rotation, but I'm not sure that length of time would be right for me, but thinking maybe three or four hours then changing project. Of course, this is dependant on hands and fingers. Have managed to do a little knitting today. Just five, six rows on some socks, but more than yesterday. I've kept my fingerless mitts on all night and day. Along with paracetamol it's helped a bit. Hopeful you can alter the alpaca top for your sister. If it's felted too much there is always scissors and a sewing machine! Take care xxJane 🐑🌼
Hi Jane. Glad to hear you were able to knit a little, and found ways of being more comfortable. I get the 12 hour thing - but agree that it wouldn't work for me. I like to keep things in my head, and if I was working on each thing for twelve hours, that would probably be most of my crafting time for the week, so it would be a while before I got back to a project. Yes - there might be scissors taken to that sweater...and I said I would never steek! Take good care xx
the calibrate is fantastic, as I knew it would be!!!! 😆 what marvelous yarn from Himself, you have trained him well. 😉 Megan's and Barb's advents will surely make a garment between them the year's FO's are a veritable production output from you a great 2024 to the three of you keep taking care xxx
Hi Enid. Thanks - I am very pleased with the sweater - it's come together well (nearly finished). Thanks so much for being here - I really appreciate your company. Wishing you and yours a great year ahead - take good care xx
Before you even finished your story about Barb, I had literally been thinking *people named Barb are the sweetest!* and then you said the same, 😆 we have a family friend named Barb and I just love her
Happy New Year, Lesley. I had intended joining in with your December makealong but unfortunately fell by the wayside. I look forward to hearing what you've got planned for next year. By the way, I thought your red jumper looked very nice on you. Xxx
Hello Lesley, Happy New Year - if it's not too late to say so. Thank you for enabling me in my no buy year (which luckily for me does not include needles) so I am going to try the new Knit Pro Mindful tips and cables that you show on here. I have always thought that the perfect cable combo would be swivel with a metal core. Best wishes for 2024 xx
Ah! I hope you like them - I haven't tried the tips, but I certainly like the cables. I'm glad that I've helped you in your quest to support independent businesses! Happy New Year to you, too. Hope all is well xx
I’ve had a rather full year this last year with 2 major operations 13 months apart in an effort to eradicate cancer…whilst I’ve been patient with all of the treatments and pills, I too have words that in private I use…my favourite lately has been: don’t give a …. So for my latest hospital stay my daughter make me a F blanket…using all the objects of that word..so: it, off, him, her .. and the in between blocks fly the bird…
Hi Annie - oh, that sounds gruelling for you. I hope that the treatments are doing their stuff and that you are coming through the other side. Love the blanket - and proof of what a versatile word it is. Take very good care and wishing you all the best for the New Year xx
Happy New Year, Lesley! I have already been researching patterns for a next project, but I can't find exactly the right pattern because, of course, I don't have quite enough yarn of the same colour! So I'll be joining you in the Modifications MAL, as soon as I finish one of my December projects!😊
Hi Frances - that sounds like some exciting planning! I look forward to seeing the project in the MAL! Thanks so much, happy new year and take good care xx
As the end of the year nears I need to say thank you for keeping me company and inspiring my knitting. I wish you and Himself, a Happy and Healthy New Year! 🥂🎉 Happy Knitting
Hi Deb. Thanks so much. Sometimes planning like that is the only way I can feel in control of what I'm doing. I allow chaos to reign for a while, but then I have to try to impose order. Hope you are enjoying whatever you're working on. Thanks for being here and for your kind words. Take care and Happy New Year xx
I agree a rethink would be a good idea. - it's meant to be fun. I used to have periods where I didn't knit for months - it's because I only ever had one project on the go, and if I fell out of love with that, I just wouldn't knit. Do what brings you joy - life can be crap enough, without having to work on stuff that's not fun right now. Love to you both xx
What a fantastic idea…a modification KAL!! My daughter is 6’2” and I have been modifying patterns since she was a teenager. Thank you, Lesley! Happy New Year!🎉
Hi there Lesley, No I don't do any yarn dying. I don't have the equipment to do so. I don't have the space either. I really envy those people who do it as a hobby or as a career. (like "Jude") it would take alot of patience to do it as a living.
For Jude, I know it took many months working as a dyer as well as working another job- and I think that's a common situation. He certainly has more patience than I do! Xx
I can't believe another year is over. I'm actually planning to only knit from stash next year (I'll tell you how this works out in the coming weeks/months 😅) Wishing you all the very best for 2024 (and for your family, too - especially your father!) - thank you for being a constant of fun and kindness in this crazy world - it is a real comfort. Cheers, N.🥂
Hi Nadja - thank you for your kind words - you are much appreciated. Good luck with working from stash - I'm planning to do the same, but I am also planning to go to a yarn festival in February, so... Wishing you all the best for the year ahead - hope we all have a good one. Thanks and take care xx
So happy to have found you and I wish you a Happy New Year. Love your content and thank you for showing everything you make I really enjoy it. I am a slow knitter and am still learning and rather enjoy seeing different things to make!
Hi Lesley, you have made some amazing things in beautiful colour combinations. I have very recently picked up my needles and hooks again and will be podcasting in just over a weeks time (if I can remember how lol) xx
Yay! That is very good news. I hope that also means that your aches and pains that prevented you knitting/crocheting have all gone. Looking forward to seeing your podcast. Happy New Year to you and Colin x
Hi - sorry to be so late replying, but yes, anything cast on since 24th December is fine. Funny thing about that song - I didn't know it until there was a cover in the 80s (the Bangles, I think), but then discovered the original. Hope all is well and thanks so much xx
Love all the advent yarns and can’t wait to see your finished item (be it sweater aka jumper or something else that your mind brings to life). Totally off topic - I want to knit my first pair of socks. I keep hearing about different bases on your channel and other channels. Where can I learn about bases pros and cons, wear-wise, dye-wise etc. Which is best for sweaty feet? And lastly which makes best squishy socks?
Hi Norma A series of good questions that I feel unqualified to answer. Podcasters who regularly make socks, that I know of, include Mandy of Mouse's Makes th-cam.com/channels/36fhwKFaOgTY4QWZOdbrPQ.html and Bente of The Epilogue Lady th-cam.com/channels/WLhSWZ7JV7FevbWdvcRTYw.html Most seem to go for a 75/25 Superwash Merino/Nylon - the Nylon adds strength and the wool adds squishyness. Hopefully, the high proportion of natural fibres will also work well with sweaty feet. I think that there is a lot of trial and error - try a popular pattern (Hermione's Everyday has had the most projects www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hermiones-everyday-socks) and see how they fit. Good luck and I hope you enjoy this new "string to your bow". xx
Hi Vida. I used to live near Jo, who was the dyer behind "Lime Green Jelly" (she started the knitting group that I go to). She ran a couple of yarn dying workshops which I very much enjoyed. Most of those yarns went into this cardigan: www.ravelry.com/projects/knittingordeath/all-my-favorites along with some other yarns of similar weight. I would certainly do more workshops, but wouldn't want to take it up as a hobby - for a start I wouldn't have the storage room for the equipment! Do you dye yarn? It's certainly fun. Thanks so much for being here, and Happy New Year xx
Happy New Year to you too. I use that sort of cable needle and I really like it. It works for me. I like the idea for your Makealong. I'm sure to have something to add to it during the time.
Hi Elizabeth That's good to hear - I figured it's the sort of cable needle I would like, so I am very grateful to hear your experience. I look forward to seeing your entry into the MAL. Thanks for being here and Happy New Year xx
Hopefully you would not be offended if I call you an amateur. It would take me 21 years to knit through my stash at my current rate of 25 finished projects last year. (no doping aka weawing used, and crocheting is definetely not quicker for me). 🙂 I was so happy for finding your podcast, so I started to binge watch from the very beginning. Thanks for very funny knitting company.
@@NotQuiteEnoughYarn I also like giving a second chance for people: you are not qualifying as amateur if your stash weights more than you do. As my stash reached that point last summer, I no longer call it a stash but a collection....
Hiya. It absolutely does - anything that varies the dimensions of the original pattern. Look forward to seeing your entries in the MAL. Thanks and take care xx
But I didn't want to blow my disguise! I wonder how we could use a sonic screwdriver to help with crafting - it could, perhaps be used to close the bulging yarn cupboard? Take care xx
Happy New Year Lesley, himself and family. The only problem with selling my knitting machine is….I can’t use the term…whirly whirly machine anymore.

Yay. I will enter it. Thanku xx

Thanks Muiread - I appreciate you being here. Wishing you all good things for the year ahead. Have lots of fun xx
Really love your spinning!! I'm getting inspired! 🤞
Love the FO round.
"Oh, if only I were organized!" I feel this!!!😂❤
Organisation is overvalued, I'm sure... Looking forward to seeing your spinning, too - did you ever move your wheel back to your sitting room? I don't think you did, but remember it was an idea at one point xx
I love yarn that gives me a visceral reaction and that’s what your stained glass hand spun did. Gorgeous!!
Hi Susan - there is something about that colourway, isn't there? Just love it. Thanks and take care xx
Those tray cloths/doilies were great fun! 😂😂
Thanks Savannah - and they were received with humour - thank goodness! Hope all is well with you xx
Glad to hear you have 11 years of content for us 😂
Ha! I fear it would get even more monotonous! xx
Wishing you and yours the very best! Big hugs! Marie Pickard
Thanks Marie. Happy New Year and hope all is well xx

Thanks so much for your company, Peggy. All the best to you and thanks for being here xx
My favorite is the crochet boxy! That looks fantastic on you! Great job. Looking forward to Wips!
Thanks Valerie - I just need to wear it! Sleeves will help, I am sure. Thanks so much and Happy New Year to you xx
What a productive 2023 you’ve had. Very impressive FO show. More so since you’ve had a lot on your plate, 2024 looks like it will also result in many lovely FOs. Best of the New Year to you.

Wishing you a very happy and healthy New Year. Thanks for being here - you are appreciated xx
I thoroughly enjoy your podcast!
That is very kind Cathy - thanks for watching. Hope all is good with you xx
Happy new year! This was a perfect video for picking up a billion collar stitches on a black cardigan.
Oh, you are a better person than I - well done on ploughing through that lot (the stitches and the video!)
Thanks and take good care xx
I keep hearing strains of music from Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat!
Yep - I know the song you mean! Cheers and take care xx
Really chuffed you are getting good use out of that bag =)
Thanks Cat - it's a beaut! Hope all is good with you xx

Happy New Year. xx
I hope you have Happy Healthy New Year!
I enjoy popping in and seeing what you are up to.
Thanks Jane - all the best to you for the New Year, too. Thanks for being here xx
Happy New Year. Love spending time with you.
Thanks so much - I appreciate your being here. All the best and Happy New Year xx

Hi,
I'm glad that the weather is enabling you to work on larger projects, but sorry that you're not getting the summer you might expect.
Hope to see your projects in the MAL - I hope you enjoy making them.
Thanks so much for being here and all the best for the year ahead xx
Wishing you a healthy happy New Year!🎊
And to you - take good care of yourself xx
I really wasn’t sure how your advent sweater was going to turn out and I love it. It’s beautiful I hope all is well with you stay safe and well
Thanks Joel - I know what you mean, as I had no idea what colours would be coming out of those lovely little bags, but I am very pleased with it - I think it will get a lot of use and can see me using that pattern again. Take good care xx
I’ve seen stunning wraps woven with eyelash yarn. Just in case you need enabling.
Hi Nikii
Ooh! That's got me thinking and Googling!
Thanks for the suggestion.
Happy New Year xx
Happy New Year Les! It's always a delight to spend time with you :^)
Oh, you are so very kind - thanks for being here, and here's to a good 2024 xx
Happy New year 🎉🎉Leslie. Looking forward to your tubing 😊😊in 2024.
Thanks Susan and Happy New Year to you, too xx
I am wearing my Pure Fuzz too. Nice to see you again, Lesley. Thanks for making this video. Hope you have a nice end and start of year. Nanja
LOL, I chocked on my drink when I read it would take you 11 years to go trough your stash at this rate! You made so much, haha. Well at least you know you will be busy for over a decade 😅🤣
It's a great pattern, isn't it? I think another one will be in the pipeline (after I've made all my wips....)
Oh my goodness, I buy yarn from Evergreen in Olympia. Happy New Year my friend!
Aha! Thus proving that Himself has good taste! Happy New Year to you too and thanks so much xx
Very happy new year to you all.
Thanks Judy - wishing the same to you and yours xx
Happy New Year
xx
Happy New Year Leslie, give your fur baby a hug for me.☘️
Hi Mary - Heidi says thank you very much. Happy New Year - let's hope it's a good one. xx
Thank you for sharing. Wish you and your family a Healthy Happy New Year.
Thanks Marilyn - wishing all good things to you and yours xx
Happy New Year, Lesley! Hugs from Deep South Texas.
Hi Nancy and thanks so much. Hugs back to you. Take care xx
Have a Happy New Year! Thank you for your podcasts. I look forward to them and find them very enjoyable.
Thanks so much and wishing you all the best for the New Year xx
Happy New year Leslie 🎉 ✨️ 💛. I loved your round up of finished objects and wips. Best of luck getting through them😂❤
Thanks Liza - and thank you for the fab Christmas Card, too!
Happy New year Lesley and hope you are safe from last night's storm.xxxx
Hi Fiona - thanks, we didn't have it as bad as elsewhere in the country, so were very lucky. Hope the weather has been kind to you, too xx
Glad if it was helpful. Take care! 🧶❄️
Happy New Year Leslie and thank you again for another endlessly enjoyable and inspiring year of podcasts. Love the MAL idea and it just so happens that my new years cast on is a sweater pattern I intend to modify from the jump. Enjoy the rest of your break and see you in the new year!🎉
Hi Pamela - ha! Excellent timing - I look forward to seeing your project.
Thanks for being here and take good care xx
Thank you so much for sharing I love the hat happy new year
Thank you - I was pleased with how it turned out.
All the best to you xx
Happy New Year to you and yours. Here’s hoping for a good 2024. Lots of love xx
Hi Louise. Wishing you all the best for the New Year. Thanks, as always, for being here. Take care xx
Hope 2024 is a better year for you himself and especially your dad. When I’m plying when I have that little bit or a big bit at the end I usually just wind the extra into a center pull ball reattach the end and ply it all together if you need another option of something to do with your leftover single ply’s. As always glad to see you happy new year stay safe and well
Hi Joel - that's a good idea - I do that (with a plying bracelet) when I'm making a two-ply. Thanks for the tip and wishing you all the very best xx
I’m using a term that I first heard from a TH-camr called Pearl together. When trying to organize anything really but your stash, your notions etc. it’s called getting your poop in a group.😅
Hiya - that's a good phrase!
Thanks and take care xx
Well, that's my Ravelry queue gone up by five........................
Oopsie - sorry about that.
Happy New Year and hope all is well with you xx
the calibrate is fantastic, as I knew it would be!!!!
💗@@NotQuiteEnoughYarn
Before you even finished your story about Barb, I had literally been thinking *people named Barb are the sweetest!* and then you said the same, 😆 we have a family friend named Barb and I just love her
Hi Savannah.
It's a name for good people - that's for sure.
Thanks so much - Happy New Year and take good care xx
Happy New Year, Lesley. I had intended joining in with your December makealong but unfortunately fell by the wayside. I look forward to hearing what you've got planned for next year. By the way, I thought your red jumper looked very nice on you. Xxx
Hi Anita- thanks so much. That red is always a popular one - and I do love a good red! Hope all is going well - take good care xx
Happy New Year my friend I hope you have a wonderful one.
Thanks Lorie - you too - thanks for being here xx
Happy New Year! I hope your 2024 turns out exactly as you wish x
Thanks so much - and to you - wishing you all good things xx
Something different yah!!!!
I hope so.
Happy New Year to you and yours xx
Happy New Year 🎉
And to you - thanks so much xx
As the end of the year nears I need to say thank you for keeping me company and inspiring my knitting. I wish you and Himself, a Happy and Healthy New Year! 🥂🎉 Happy Knitting
That's so kind - thank you for being here - you are much appreciated. Wishing you all joy and happy crafting in a good year ahead xx
That’s some serious planning! Enjoy your crafting in the New Year. Thanks for being you and for sharing with us. Deb in Florida
My Tuesday Zoom has determined Valorie means Modify.
I think I am knitting less because I told myself no new cast ons until all WIPS are done. Think I need to rethink this.
Aah, Man - you mean I should have called it the ValorieMAL? xx
Happy New Year!🎉
Hi Mary - yay! Your daughter may be getting a lot of knitted items this year? Thanks so much and take care xx
Xx
Happy New Year! Thank you for the long video, I’ve almost completely finished edging a room I’m painting today 😂😂
Hi Kristi
You are very welcome - glad the timing was useful.
Wishing you the happiest of years - take care xx
ps - loving your temperature dragon!
Happy New Year to you, himself, and Heidi. May 2024 be your best year yet! xx
Thank you. Wishing you all good things. Thanks for being here. Xx
So happy to have found you and I wish you a Happy New Year. Love your content and thank you for showing everything you make I really enjoy it. I am a slow knitter and am still learning and rather enjoy seeing different things to make!
Thanks Carol - slow and steady works - enjoyment is the key. Thanks and Happy New Year xx
Hey Girl, are wips okay for the Mal? My Christmas cast on is a "Mod"
Love the Hazy days of Winter Simon and Garfunkel my fav❤🎉🎉 Happy New Year!
Hi Norma
A series of good questions that I feel unqualified to answer. Podcasters who regularly make socks, that I know of, include Mandy of Mouse's Makes th-cam.com/channels/36fhwKFaOgTY4QWZOdbrPQ.html and Bente of The Epilogue Lady th-cam.com/channels/WLhSWZ7JV7FevbWdvcRTYw.html
Most seem to go for a 75/25 Superwash Merino/Nylon - the Nylon adds strength and the wool adds squishyness. Good luck and I hope you enjoy this new "string to your bow". xx
Hi there Lesley, I was wondering if you had ever dyed any yarn for your self? I want to wish you a very Happy New Year in 2024.
Hi Elizabeth
That's good to hear - I figured it's the sort of cable needle I would like, so I am very grateful to hear your experience.
I look forward to seeing your entry into the MAL. Thanks for being here and Happy New Year xx
Thank you for another great podcast, Happy New Year Caroline x
Thanks Caroline and Happy New Year to you, too xx
Hopefully you would not be offended if I call you an amateur. It would take me 21 years to knit through my stash at my current rate of 25 finished projects last year. (no doping aka weawing used, and crocheting is definetely not quicker for me). 🙂
I was so happy for finding your podcast, so I started to binge watch from the very beginning. Thanks for very funny knitting company.
Hi. Not offended at all. Glad to be in the presence of a professional 😉
Thanks so much for being here - great to meet you xx
@@NotQuiteEnoughYarn I also like giving a second chance for people: you are not qualifying as amateur if your stash weights more than you do. As my stash reached that point last summer, I no longer call it a stash but a collection....
@@kallis.kaihdin Ha! That's the only good reason I've every heard for going on a weight loss diet! 🤣
@@NotQuiteEnoughYarn Let me ensure you that getting my weight down is much easier than downsizing my collection...😇
Leslie l knit my socks with a longer leg. Does this qualify for an amendment?
Hiya. It absolutely does - anything that varies the dimensions of the original pattern. Look forward to seeing your entries in the MAL. Thanks and take care xx
Electric screwdriver?!?!?? Surely you meant to say sonic. 🤔😅
But I didn't want to blow my disguise!
I wonder how we could use a sonic screwdriver to help with crafting - it could, perhaps be used to close the bulging yarn cupboard?
Take care xx
