Don’t worry too much about people saying “I’m not buying yarn this year!” We’d NEVER stick to it! The first lovely skein dangled in front of our noses and we would be off the wagon …. Xx
Just a heads up from someone who lives relatively close to the village of Winwick, the second 'w' is silent so it is pronounced Win-ick. I love the idea of the bingo board and it is such a fun way of giving yourself knitting or crochet challenges across the year. I'm usually useless with things like that but I do have a couple of "intentions" that I want to focus on such as create a better balance between yarn coming in and being used up, and finish some long-term blanket wips.
Year-long challenges have always been a huge “challenge” for me - I get about half-way and then things fall apart. I’m starting with a bingo board though. We’ll see. I don’t have a space to hang it on the wall, but I’ll give it a go anyway. Nice to start off the new year with a nice long chat with you. Hope you are all well and happy. Wishing you a calm and peaceful January after the hectic December. Salam wa sa’aadah
Hi Helen, Happy New year to you and your family. I'm joining in on your knitting, crochet crafting bingo challenge. I think it's an excellent idea and hopefully it will help me track everything this year. I'm really new to sock knitting and loved your idea of a sock box. Your parents hats look lovely, take care 🙂
Lovely to catch up Helen! The bingo board is great idea. Your gnomes look amazing! I must start making some, they are always so gorgeous! thank you for sharing Helen. Hopefully see you at East Anglia yarn festival x x
I discovered your vlogmas this year and really enjoyed watching, especially the joke of the day. Looking forward to the bingo challenge. Have a very happy New Year.
I’m currently using up all my oddments into a scrappy crochet hexagonal blanket, to make room for new projects, now I’m retired. I’ve got a red jumper, part lacy, which has been on my needles for around 5 years (yikes) and a rowan jumper of a similar age, to get on with. I’ve been down the rabbit hole of machine embroidery for the last 5 years, so looking to get more balance around the different crafts. I also have a jaguar cross stitch on black aida (so hard to work on black) which must be over 12 years part completed!
Just signed up to your Patreon after thoroughly enjoying your Vlogmas this year 😊 looking forward to all the content. Happy new year to you, Thom, Arthur and Jasper xxx
I am sure there will be plenty of your colors that I won’t be able to resist despite a use my stash resolution. At the very least I will have to get your Advent again if you are doing one this year.
Happy New Year! I Very much enjoyed Vlogmas-lovely family. My stash is colorful, and I have a beautiful collection of yarns in my stash with a wide variety to choose from. I placed my sock yarn with patterns in plastic bags. Sweater, presently working on, you can never have too much yarn. It can also be gifted to others who would enjoy it just as much as you did when you bought it. We all win.
I put "More yarn out than in" on my bingo board, telling my friends on new years day, they just laughed🤣 I have already ordered the first three months of your clubs this year - could it be there was a reason behind their laugh?😛
I’m a beginner knitter so don’t worry I’ll be buying plenty of new yarn 😊 I’m a bit of an introvert but I’ll try and make a knit and natter if I’m brave enough
I'm hoping I'm going to be able to take part in the knit and natter, but hard with a 5yo running around and bedtimes, but if they're at different times/days of the week I'm sure I'll be able to make it to a couple. The Blogger Tier is £4.20 with the VAT on Patreon. I'm hoping to do the same as you this year, more out than in, finish a couple of garments and blankets and knit more socks and hopefully my first gnome. Looking forward to seeing how we all do with our bingo this year 😅
I've set the first one for 8pm on a night that thom is away and I've got to do solo bedtime with the kids 😆 my brain was thinking it'll give me something to do that evening with Thom away. Didn't think so much of the fact I'm going to have to be super organised 😆.
Both are very easy to use, you can add them both as apps on your phone too so you get notifications when there's anything new. Feel free to drop me a message if you need any help at all 💜

Thank you, I'm terrible with pronunciation 🙈.
I'm also useless with goals and challenges but I'm hoping you'll all keep me accountable 😆

I'm so glad so many people like the idea and want to join in. I think it's going to make for a fun knit along.

Oh you really should make some! They're so so fun! Looking forward to seeing you at EAYF!
Like the unique sock cuffs. Your Bingo Board is such a great idea. Much more attainable. 🧶😊

I'm so glad you enjoyed vlogmas, I hope you enjoy the podcast and the other videos I add to my channel 💜
I like pooling, I think it looks neat some times.
I really enjoy it on socks, I think it can be really fun! I'm not so keen on it in bigger projects though

There's so many things aren't there and so little time for them all!

Yeah, unless I'm super productive this year and finish some big projects I'm definitely going to struggle with this one 😆
One of my bingo card squares is “buy more Giddy Yarn!”
Hehe I like that square 💓
