I guess Im randomly asking but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
This is a bit of magic right before our eyes! Not very often does such a meeting take place of an actress meeting the woman she plays in a famous movie. And such wonderful chemistry they had with each other!
Hm? It's not really that rare. Actors almost always meet with the person they are portraying in order to portray them better. It's quite standard. What's less common is having it filmed like this.
Audie Murphy once played himself. That's why 'To hell and back' will always be my favorite war movie, the only one I know of where a genuine, real life war hero is literally being played by the man himself.
Great job people you should be amazed and to the actors and actresses who passed away my thoughts are with your family you may be gone but not forgotten still going strong after all these years later much love and respect and appreciation job well done you should be amazed and proud way to go stay safe and warm out there !! VONN TRAMPP DON'T REALIZE THE GIFT THEY GAVE ME: SPEECH. THANK YOU DEAR LADIES. AND RIP MRS. VONN TRAMPP. I AM SORRY I SPELLED YOUR NAME INCORRECTLY. GOD BLESS BOTH OF YOU. AMEN.
God bless Maria. She ended up being a loving mom, even a bit disciplinarian, but that's the Austrian in her. And a leader. Think about it, 2 world wars, a refugee, and with family.
@сладкий медвежонок I just finished watching the German language film from 1956 based on her book. Very similar to the Sound of Music, but it is truer to the real events and follows them to America at the very end.
Time was when films were works of art and cultural treasures. I was lucky I was old enough to understand and appreciate this film in the 60s. I still enjoy it after half a century.
I had no idea this wonderful footage existed. The Baroness came and spoke at BYU when I was a senior. She got a standing ovation before she had spoken a word.
Miroslava Maria Novakovic, I LOVED this movie for it is my homeland Austria. which sadly have not seen in 61 years, So when feel homesick look at this movie, and yes even cry. Wonderful story,Hope all will take time to listen to the great songs and it is a true story. Enjoy and thank you for reading this.
@@udaybaviskar1978 No in real life there were two Maria is one of them was one of the children and the other one was portrayed by Julie Andrews character look it up the Maria I’m talking about was called Maria Mitzi von Trapp
I was singing away during my regular church service, standing and enjoying the fellowship of the very nice lady next to me dressed in a Scandinavian outfit. My pastor, Kathryn Kuhlman, stopped the service and announced, "Today is very special. We are blessed to have the real Maria Von Trapp in our presence. Maria-Take a bow! We love you, dearly." Here I had been singing with THE reason for "Sound of Music." Not too many others can brag like I can!
Are you sure she was dressed in Scandinavian dress? She's from austria, which isn't part of Scandinavia. It's unlikely she would suddenly decide to wear their traditional dress
@@DreamBelief the Dirndl dress (Austrian national dress) does look a bit like the bunad, the national dress worn in Norway. Actually, I have seen Swedish traditional dresses a bit like it. But yes, most likely Maria von Trapp would have worn her Austrian dress! 😉
When the original musical play The Sound of Music first opened on Broadway in 1959, Maria von Trapp attended performances of the show about once a month. She became friends with Rodgers and Hammerstein. Many people in the audience didn't know who the nice lady was that was sitting with them. Then when the movie was made in 1965, she enjoyed that as well. And she became friends with Julie Andrews.
Awesome video! ^_^ Screen legend Julie Andrews, together with the original Maria Von Trapp...What a wonderful combination! :D I only wish I knew where to find Part 2 of the video...I wanna see that, too!
The real maria von trapp is funny I love the sound of music I wish I could know her she died in 1987 I was born in 2005 but at least her 3 children are alive still
2:30 That is indeed a different type of singing than in the movie- not just a different language! My God, you could make a whole second movie based on the Von Trapps moving from country to country making their living from singing!
That a special time capsule. Julie always special but lovely to see and hear Maria. Funny I'm in Vermont often where my sisters lives but never went to Stowe where they all resided. My loss as I think all are about gone now. Certainly one of the great films ever made in so many ways.
Kim Taylor The Maria that you’re seeing here sadly passed away in 1987 the Maria that passed in 2014 was one of the children portrayed by Louisa in the film that was the captains daughter
Julie did the real VonTrapp so very very proud & happy! She was incredible as Maria on film! I love Julie Andrews! How I wish I can get her Julie Andrews Hour in DVD!
Wow! I love this video because it helped me learn more about the real Von Trapp family. I have always eager to know more about what happened after they went over the mountain.
They didn't go over the mountain at all in reality. They just caught a train. They didn't even have to keep it secret. It was a reasonable change to make for the movie though
@@DreamBelief They pretended that they were going to Italy to sing. From Italy they went to several countries in Europe, then at last to the U.S., where they built their ski lodge in Vermont.
This was the 16th episode of "The Julie Andrews Hour", which aired on January 20th, 1973. The episode included Maria von Trapp, Eydie Gorme & Jim Nabors.

Hi Laura, do you by any chance still have the part 2 of this interview? I am very curious to know. But if you do, I am not sure how to contact you back or even know if you do.
@cilrogers Really!? I found this one surfing internet. I thought to share it here 'cause when I was looking for it I didn't find anything ;) You're so lucky! Here in Italy Julie Andrews is not so known but I'm trying to put all her vids together on my youtube channel p.s: sorry for my bad english! :)
really good yodeling is a skill. I recently came across some videos here with alphorns (those horns that are so long you have to rest the end on the ground) and they were amazing. It was almost like a trombone choir. they were able to play much more harmonically complex pieces than I would have ever imagined. The videos were taken at some kind of competition, so I would have expected them to be good. If your only exposure to alphorns is a Riecola commercial, you should go check it out.
I love how Maria von Trapp is still so hilarious. A sense of humour is lovely regardless of age.
I can see why so many fell in love with the real Maria. She's strong, intelligent, talented and witty.
To sir with love
And unashamed to be from Europe/Western civilization.
I agree on that

Julie is laughing a lot in this clip. Maria seems to have been born to be a great entertainer.
Perhaps the most talented person who ever lived. She could act, dance and sing.
Yes indeed. She is so special

Fascinating encounter! Maria von Trapp is just what one has imagined her to be, only much wittier. And Julie is just as beautiful, just more modest
When she gave Julie the book was probably the loveliest moment I´ve ever seen.
Julie Andrews is gorgeous; so far above this pre-written pap they have her saying - still, her beautiful voice still .shines
This is legendary status these two women.
Julie and Maria singing together almost tops Judy and Barbra. I teared up for reasons that i cant even explain.
