Christopher Plummer was my first "crush" at the age of 9. He was so handsome debonaire AND he knew how to sing and play guitar. That led me on a lifelong path of dating musicians...some great, some not so great !!😄 Not many people are aware of this, but when the Von Trapp family fled Austria, they settled in New England. I believe it was Vermont because they said the beauty reminded them of Europe.

In 1969, he transferred into my high school as a senior and played the Artful Dodger in our production of Oliver. He was kind, unpretentious, and very helpful to the other kids in the production. Respect for his nonego, despite being in one of the greatest movie musicals of all time.

Lovely music, beautiful scenery, an interesting true story about the von Trapp family during World War 2, appropriate actors playing the parts & particularly Julie Andrews who held it together. It suited her very much. Seen it many times since on tv. A memorable film.

I just came across this & thought I need to hear what’s gonna be said about each character in this precious movie. Each individual (character) was very unique & special in their own ways. I’ll always love this movie, it never gets old. Christopher Plummers died two weeks after he had a fall in his home. Charmaine Carr died from frontotemporal dementia RIP all the actors and actresses some have gone too soon. 😭
Vivid memories come alive as I watch the snippets about the actors whose brilliant performance made "Sound of Music" a gem of a movie. Sad to see many of them are not alive today.
Debbie turner... just one year older to me...I saw this movie as a kid, she too must have not known much of the movie... but happy that she acted in it...
You forgot Mary Wicke was quick witted and played characters like that up until Sister Act 2 1992-4. and Sarah .....who later played Alan Quartermain' s mother in General Hospital.
Mary Wicke was a marvelous addition to any film she appeared in. She often played a crusty, no-nonsense, delightful character who added spice to a sugary script. I'd like to chat with her in the Sweet By-and-By.
