I love protool. I had my 5 series for a year and it always had airbag and seatbelt ligjts i recalibrated the trac control system airbags and body control modules and the lights went away and never came back. They literally jjat needed a recalibration. U can do so much with this program

Just as a note on the FRM, when doing a swap you wouldn't use the write vin function if it's a used module. At that point you would factory code the module and we write the vin in that process.

Is there away to unlock features? Like the automatic side mirrors. I has some function with those, changed my FRM had to code it to get my windows to roll down again but now the automatic side mirrors don't work.
Protool its a beast i was able to get my dsc pump recalibrated got rid off all those traction warning lights..digital speedometer activated..my headlights and taillights coded for led and few other stuff great product and really easy to use worth every penny!
Does this work on 5 series? I'm trying to get rid rid of the TPMS light after installing aftermarket wheels.

Hi , have you got some special functions as steering angle sensor reset or key coding ( not remote ! The immo key ) ?
You are using it in a E60 so I guess you can use it on a e64 ?

I use it mostly on E90/E92 but you should be able to do steering angle reset. Key programming requires more advanced equipment

Hi i have had protools for a long while now. My bluetooth adapter broke and am waiting on replacement. In the meantime i am trying to use the cable from my ohone to the car and i am having problems getting it the 2 to connect. Pls help

Does the MHD wifi adapter work with any BMW or only with the N54 motors? I have MHD but I’m wondering if I would need another adapter for reading other cars.
It depends on the car and year. I usually use a separate cable for other BMWs

Hey quick question: I understand you have to connect to wifi from a router to download the app, but do you have to be on a wifi signal from your router to use it afterwards? Meaning, when the tablet hooks up to the wifi adapter on the OBDii port, do you need to be connected to some sort of internet network? (I ask because in the event Im not near wifi I'm wondering if this is rendered useless?) I also saw a blutooth one on the protool website. Thank you
Generally no need for wifi signal when connected to the car and using the app. The app runs off background files that are stored offline on the device. Occasionally these files will need to be updated, which does require internet signal, but once updated you can go back to using the app offline as usual
@@lifebycars5849 Thank you so much. The adapter you have is hard to find now. (Apparently that was for E chassis, and had separate ones for F/G). Now the main one they sell supposedly works for E/F/G. Are you using that same adapter in your video still or have you tried/updated to any others?
Do you know how to find the electric diff code on the dme? I installed an lsd on my e82 and it’ll lock the wheels to simulate the diff and it’s annoying lol
In ProTool you disable the e-diff option under the DSC/ABS coding
Will this work for 2006 e85? I THINK my car is in transport mode bc when I swapped out my battery for a new one, the hvac system stopped working. Ac light, hvac light won’t turn on.
Actually just picked up an E85 myself, the app will work for diagnostics only. They’re still developing the coding side and it hasn’t been released yet

I have changed different control units in the car including the FRM and the MRS(airbag steuergerät). The FRM not working properly the driver door buttons not working also the mirrors. Can i recodd this units with the coding license?
Those modules would need to be factory coded to the car when replaced, ProTool can do that

Yes it does
Can you repair FRM module ?
You can’t repair the FRM - I believe the only way people are able to do that is with an external programmer that is hooked up directly to the FRM board. However, if you replace the FRM entirely with a different unit, ProTool can code the new one into the car to work properly
I’m going to replace my right rear shock with adaptive active drive. Can this software code after I replace?
I assume you have an M3 with the EDC suspension? To my knowledge you don’t have to code anything if you’re just replacing a shock with another EDC compatible unit. However ProTool can code out (delete) EDC if you’re going with a suspension that doesn’t have the adaptive shocks so you don’t have error lights
@@lifebycars5849 My e70 x5 sport premium has adaptive shocks and struts. After they are replaced they have to be coded. One shock cost $1,500 quoted by a independent shop to put in. I don’t think so. I’ll replace it my self used OEM, and then code it. If the shock isn’t coded, I have no sport mode in the x5.
Gotcha - sounds like something ProTool would be able to do. I’m not 100% positive since I’m not familiar with your platform but if you reach out to bimmergeeks to confirm they’re always really quick to respond
How much does this cost
I mechanically unjammed the parking brake, I'm told I need to clear the stored error code for the parking brake. Do you know how to clear? I only found transport mode disable? Thanks.
Sounds like you just need to clear errors for that module

Can I program my steering wheel buttons with this?
Depends on what you’re trying to do. If you swap a different wheel on with different buttons, you can edit the Vehicle Order so the new buttons work properly. If you want to change what each button does when pressed, ProTools can’t do that because they’re wired directly in

The functions option in the CAS should have the ELV reset
How do you convert the tablet to run Google play store? I bought the tablet on your link but it’s not allowing me to download the app
If you do a google search there’s some basic guides you can find. It’s pretty much just clicking a few download links

That doesn’t sound normal, mine takes like 10-15 seconds to read the modules then I’m good to go. I’d guess maybe an issue with the cable you’re using to connect?

There are several that will work, not sure if carly is one of them. I use the MHD WiFi adapter or the cable from bimmergeeks but they have several options on their website

Hey bro I just purchased the master license. I was wondering if you knew how to do the valvetronic start up on protools? I just installed a new valvetronic motor for a n55 435i and was wondering how to do the programing.
It’s in there somewhere but not 100% where - maybe one of the functions options in the engine section?

You shouldn’t have to go into expert mode for that, they should have it set up as a preset operation
Can you view transmission adaptation values on this app?
I’m not sure, I usually use xHP for that. I’d bet you can do it though
Yes. I replaced my transmission in my 08 335i. and I reset adaptions it immediately shifted perfectly. you also do the relearn procedure

yeah , i've just check that, and also i think that you need special OBD adapter which supports Bimmergeeks ProTool because i have tried with iCar-Vgate adapter and it couldn't connect with the app.

I use the master but you might only need the diagnostic if you don’t want to do any coding. Check out their website for what they both offer and choose from there

I use this with a cable as bluetooth can have data packet loss. Don't believe me go look at zero to 60'c channel he was having a hel
l of a time trying to code until he used a cable. after seeing that I'm hard wired in every time.
Why expert mode is in German.
Certain options are, but bimmergeeks has translated most of them to English. You can also find translation files specifically for coding online
The Expert is raw coding files being read. We include descriptions on most all of the files where common features are. We wanted find a common ground where expert users coming from BMW Standard Tools as well as novice users can use the app without limitation.
One of the worst modules I’ve ever dealt with. They are hit and miss.

U can pretty much enable/disable/reset/test all electronics with this app
U can even turn off the front diff on xdrive vehicles making tjem rear wheel biased
