Another great song from the greatest decade in the history of music. From 1970 to 1979 there was songs by the thousands and bands, duo’s and solo artists in the hundreds that no other decade can even come close to compete with. Start with ABBA and go all the way to ZZ Top. Have fun counting all of them. Whew!
Ron Gurtiza Well that would be really cool .While their at it how about putting back here on you tube the version of her singing Desperado from this very same concert. Imo. it is the very best version ever. At the end she really puts her heart into it.
Especially if you can completely ignore Janis Joplin or Mama Cass Elliot. A great singer but a bit too controlled, polished, and disciplined to suit me.
john c Waddy Wachtel is still out there today. You are correct he plays with Stevie Nicks at times still. Performed with Kim Carnes and heaps of others. He is in a band nowadays to. Watch him with Stevie he warms up the audience with his guitar. In later life I notice him there. Waddy to me is like the loyal foot soldier to some of these great artists. Look right there is Waddy alongside.
A great Warren Zevon song she made very successful. He always loved Linda as he said she made him successful and financially successful. but have to say, Warren did it much better
Fox Theater, Atlanta Georgia she was absolutely the Queen, at that point time, and still is one of the world's most unforgettable female artist, I say Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for her!
@John Payne - Hi John. Are you sure it was at the Fox? Bill Lance, who claims* he was the video recording engineer for the concert, and many other comments left on various tracks of the playlist for the concert, indicate THIS concert was at the Atlanta Civic Center. No hostility intended here. Just trying to settle the matter. If you stand by your claim, please leave a comment under Lance’s comment at the link below. Thanks. 🧨 *Comment by ‘Bill Lance’ can be found under the “Linda Ronstadt - “Blue Bayou” (Official Music Video)” on the Linda Ronstadt YT Channel at: th-cam.com/video/Kp9G0zkorio/w-d-xo.html Note: Bill Lance comment at URL above was posted approx. When this tour played The Summit in Houston in Nov. 1977, they used the performance in the 1978 rock radio film "FM." Her band here includes Waddy Wachtel on lead guitar, Dan Dugmore on guitar and pedal steel, the late Kenny Edwards (an original member of her mid-'60s band the Stone Poneys) on bass, the late Don Grolnick on keyboards and Rick Marotta on drums.
I saw her on this tour in Allentown PA. The first concert I ever saw. I was 16 years old. The show began, and Waddy walked on stage with his red Strat........from that point on, my life was never the same!!!
yea now adays seem these girls moe scream and holler to try to sing so loud. no need for all that. just sing good, and if your good your diaphram will take you there. no hollering like underwood. linda is a natural.
pure rock n roll gold here. NONe of the crap you hear these days. real musicians and linda pure talent.no auto tune and all that crap they use these days
O.K. What's the deal here.? They leave this up but they take down her version of Desperado from this same concert which I think is the best version of Desperado.
Linda has one of the best voices of all time 3:56 ❤

Another Warren Zevon classic written tune. 😎🎸👍🏻
He should be in the RnR Hall of Fame!
It's not fun getting older but I'm glad I lived in the 70s
Me too! BEST DECADE TO GROW UP IN!!
Just a god of a woman. With a voice of endless gold. Wish we could all redo it! Luved her, luv to her.
The record company should get the master tapes to this concert and remaster it and release it as a live 2cd and double vinyl album set.
Ron Gurtiza Well that would be really cool .While their at it how about putting back here on you tube the version of her singing Desperado from this very same concert. Imo. it is the very best version ever. At the end she really puts her heart into it.
I AGREE!!!
And it would put nearly all of the last two decades worth of singers and bands to shame
@@lilorbielilorbie2496 I'll get on it right away.
She's the greatest ever female voice from the 70s
The greatest all round singer ever. As Dolly says of her “she could sing anything.” A truly sublime vocalist.
Especially if you can completely ignore Janis Joplin or Mama Cass Elliot. A great singer but a bit too controlled, polished, and disciplined to suit me.
I CAN EASILY IGNORE THEM
@@alkholos Close but Linda is still on top of them. Here range an emotion is unparalleled
78 years young and still beautiful. These recordings are such a treasure.
Poor Poor Pitiful Me another Warren Zevon classic.
One of my favorite singers the other is Stevie Nicks
She nailed everything she did. It's unreal. And Waddy right there backing her. That guy was everywhere. I swear there must have been two of him.

Don't hurt me Momma! It's a pity such clarity of voice we've lost, luckily we can listen to her past. Luvya Linda, the "Best"!

She did get into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.. Finally..

How not to get a crush on this lady back in those years?
Great song from one of the best live concerts ever recorded!!! Brava!
Every interview I heard from Linda was never about “me”. She always spoke highly of her band.
Real Truth!
I saw her on this tour in Allentown PA. The first concert I ever saw. I was 16 years old.
The show began, and Waddy walked on stage with his red Strat........from that point on, my life was never the same!!!
The perfect voice. So powerful but yet so clear.
Only one same was Karen carpenter

Awesome jam session, great voice, lead guitar, drums, etc., love one of the best videos with Linda in natural setting. Good health..Linda.
She's a joy just to listen to!!!
One of my first concerts, Never will anyone sing like her
Lucky Kimberly!
yep so true... yet swift is a billionaire and is terrible.i dont get it.
Always the best of the best whenever she did she defined generations of music Amazing talent always having a great band behind her.
IIs 2022 and I am blown away by this woman ,super sexy in this day and age ! you were a musical genius !
Whew....she and her band are something else.
Linda was soooo thin here! What a red-hot rockin' mama. She's one of the best.
+revin togo Seems like she was always so tiny. My guess is that the med for Parkinson's caused her to gain some weight.
Such talent.
She weighed a lot during her teen years. I've seen the photos. Don't know how she lost the weight.
@@bustercherry9643 Maybe a weed, whites, and wine diet.
Remember 1977? Cocaine.
Diet pills (speed) were here drug of choice back in the day according to bandmates.
At heard very first time of this makes me stuck on my mind so humble.
Listening again....she was an original. NOBODY has replaced her. Name one singer who sings as good as her since these days.
One of my favorite singers the other is Stevie Nicks
Absolutely... I would purchase that set!
Excellent.......although I love Warren Zevon's version too, tough to argue with Linda's voice and her amazing band.
Great song. Love Warren.
What an awesome lady
Love Her A pure Treasure!!!!!
I love her dearly
What a great talent!
A credit to her gender.
Love waddy a real master.
Great song great women.
Warren Zevon (writer of this song and a number of others) said he loved Linda because she made him more money than he ever did recording and playing.
No tape or auto-tune, just walked up to the mike and let it go. Real music by real people.
pure rock n roll gold here. NONe of the crap you hear these days. real musicians and linda pure talent.no auto tune and all that crap they use these days
MISTAKEN: Warren Zevon composer, but Peter Asher produced Linda's album w/this song and slowed it down a bit...it's a WOW.
Magnificent
This song played by this group has dimension, a real 'full sound'--cow bell!!
Excitable Boy ✨

EAGLES OWN DESPERADO!
@@musicsavant1079 You do know that you don't need to use all caps. right? I know it's all about the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
@@lilorbielilorbie2496 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Glen Frey and Don Henley acknowledged Desperado was not a hit until Linda recorded it; so they owe her.
(As do lots of others she covered)
@@fredkozak762 Don't hold your breath on that.
GREAT ZEVON TUNE - WADDY CO- WROTE WEREWOLVES OF LONDON
Well back in those days of course you had Black Sabbath at the Atlanta City auditorium Deep Purple, there too
Civic center in the fox also with the other bands like Jimmy Buffett and of course Bruce Springsteen and E Street Band, great times.
so much better than Terri Clark's version
What a shame Jerry Brown tapped that. I'd be okay if Dennis Kucinich had. Jerry Brown, though--may as well have been Reagan.
Anyone know if there's an album/bootleg for the Atlanta concert?
Is that Mick Fleetwood on drums? just kidding, but he does look like him.....
i just thought that too!!
@@kenharcombe7976 Its Rick Marotta
written by Elvis Costello--this album produced by Peter Asher
Warren Zevon
Wrong - Warren Zevon

Who worker her over good in Hollywood? JD Souther?
