    To avoid confusion between salmon /trout issue ,(from a side angle)the eye on a salmon sits level with the corner (scissors)of the mouth , a trout eye position is in front of the corner (scissors) of the mouth.,hope that helps.

    I rarely hook trout on a lure casting down stream that was a nice start. 👌have to agree with you when you said theirs nothing quite like a wild brown trout that or a sea trout cuz both fight amazing regardless of size I'd say pound for pound they are the best UK river species.

    If you ever come over to northern ireland, theres excellent wild trout fishing, for brownies and sea trout, huge in strangford, also look into the dollaghan trout, a lough neagh fish that runs rivers late in the season and they go up to 20lb+

    • @adventurefishinguk
      @adventurefishinguk  ปีที่แล้ว

    • @northernirishviking7283

      The dollaghan although predatory are not ferox, they are our own strain of brownies that migrate to lough neagh and then back up the rivers to spawn, they are huge, also our own river gets double figure sea trout

    • @adventurefishinguk

      Looking for a rod for both carp and perch is a bit of a tough one, I’d say maybe the X5 or the infinite ultimate 👍 I do like the predator rod, but at 10-30g it’s a bit too heavy for perch

    Great video again George. Most of the rivers round me are fly only. Sometimes you need the spinner to cover the water properly. Lovely seatrout at the end there worth getting drenched all day for 😅.

    • @adventurefishinguk
      @adventurefishinguk  ปีที่แล้ว

      That would be really frustrating for me I’m awful with a fly rod 😂 I wonder if those kinds of clubs will eventually allow single barbless hook lure fishing

    • @Hardlinesangling
      @Hardlinesangling ปีที่แล้ว

      @AdventureFishingUK I doubt it they have been fly only for years. Some if the water is really high early season would let you spin rest of the time it's fly only.

    • @adventurefishinguk

    What exactly is a sea trout if I have it right. Never seen one of those before. Was a nice looking fish

    • @adventurefishinguk
      @adventurefishinguk  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a brown trout that has left it's home river to feed out at sea. They lose all their brown colour and turn silver, I suppose it's our version of what you'd call a steelhead 👍

    • @karlney8769
      @karlney8769 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adventurefishinguk thanks - it would be a awesome fish to eat as steelhead is a lot like salmon. Our steelhead are big and fat and usually put on a huge fight. They are also very weary so hard to catch. Thanks again.

    • @louiechidwick6034
      @louiechidwick6034 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@adventurefishinguk The easiest way to tell the difference between sea trout and salmon is to pick it up and hold hold it by its tail, a salmon can be held like this but a sea trout will slip from your grip because salmon have outer bony ribs in its tail making it stiff and easy to hold but the trout doesn't so it will slide out from your hand.
      I use this identification all the time on my local river and it works for me.
