I'll never understand why modern American horror films feel the need to put in obnoxious sound cues. It's not scary and takes away from the tension.

    • @brandonhosman4697

American horror scares stupid people, that’s why people watch movies like “The Nun”. It’s for people with short attention spans that just want the movie to jump-scare them. Personally, I like horror movies that build tension overtime.

@@brandonhosman4697 It is just bizarre to me. There have been scenes in modern American films that were pretty creepy or tense, and then suddenly some loud dumb noise goes off and ruins the whole atmosphere.

The original also had those loud noises to scary you.
I think the original is great but some parts, some transitions could be better. There are scenes that just "ends".
Anyway, back to the loud noises, this original was from 2003 and already played with that "trope". It's played like a "ghost" horror story, but uses this to distracts you from the real drama, that the protagonist is crazy. But then reveals that yes, there's also a ghost there, it's both.

But A tale of two sisters is the only psychological horror in that list. its a subgenre of horror movies that none of those other movies can compare to. the creepiness o a tale of two sisters is what the movie makes great. i love the other horror movies but a tale of two sisters is amazing and better then all those combined.

A Tale of Two Sisters is a masterful psychological horror with so many greats things from the acting, the cinematography, the music, and of course, the story it tells. The Uninvited, on the other hand, while washed down and not as complex in comparison, is still pretty decent in my opinion and not as bad as other remakes of classic Asian horrors like Shutter or One Missed Call. But it honestly felt pointless in the end.... I mean, the original is flawless. It didn’t need a remake. And I would encourage anyone who hasn’t seen Tale of Two Sisters (or even those who’ve only seen The Uninvited) to give it a watch!

oh my gosh I forgot that the uninvited was a movie. I watched the movie in theaters years ago, but only because the new Friday the 13 movie at the time was sold out, and so me and my BF had to watch this because we didn't want to call our parents to pick us up. and we hated it. I still remember us getting out and him just saying, "Well that movie sucked!" I still laugh about it to this day.
but the fact it was based off of another movie called, a tale of two sisters a movie is very shameless. I will admit I have never seen until this moment, but the opening already has a very strong hook, that with the context I know from the uninvited I feel so bad for the ending. It feels like it's going to hurt those watching a lot more with the truth that they will not be ready for it. So A tale of two sisters looks really good and should be remembered, and I hope people forget that the uninvited existed like I did for years after watching it.
