Cleanest, sweetest fish I've ever caught. When I used fo fish off norther Cal and caught lingcod, it was always a treat to cook the filets with olive oil, salt, lemon, lemon pepper, butter and baked in foil. Always came out so flaky and sweet. No fishy taste. If thr filets are extra thick, I slice it to make a pocket and stuff it with mushrooms, olives, onions and cook as above. Oh so good.

Doug Covert lol I figured you were but it also brings up a good point. It’s harder to measure accurately with this type of tape measure. It’s better to have the type that will go with the contours of the fish. Being a little off can be the difference between a keeper and an illegal fish. I love having the options of another fishery when things are in the state that they are right now
Blktailhunter53 - i do that A LOT. It’s never been an issue for me though... and when it comes to a ling running for the rocks, line twist is the last of my worries.
You really need to figure out what you’re doing. You done know how to skin, and I stop thinking about yourself and what could have taken place if you would have fallen and all the other people lives you would have put in jeopardy!
No the blue color comes from biliverdin. It's comes from the bile and somehow mixes with the blood serum in a small percentage of ling's. It's perfectly safe but even the biologists can't explain why it happens.

AnglingAddictsPNW , only Walmart carries that bait, unless you order it online through Berkeley gulp
Nice tape measure lol
Doug Covert - you do what you gotta do lol. I didn’t need to be exact since I wasn’t really planning on keeping any. Pretty sure I will invest in a better one since I know I will be doing more of this fishing
Just giving ya a bad time...looks fun salmon an steelhead in a terrible state that's a good choice right now
Doug Covert lol I figured you were but it also brings up a good point. It’s harder to measure accurately with this type of tape measure. It’s better to have the type that will go with the contours of the fish. Being a little off can be the difference between a keeper and an illegal fish. I love having the options of another fishery when things are in the state that they are right now
You are putting a lot of line twist on the reel.
Blktailhunter53 - i do that A LOT. It’s never been an issue for me though... and when it comes to a ling running for the rocks, line twist is the last of my worries.
need a rope net.
Haha I definitely need SOMETHING. That trip was fun but a pain in the ass
You really need to figure out what you’re doing. You done know how to skin, and I stop thinking about yourself and what could have taken place if you would have fallen and all the other people lives you would have put in jeopardy!
Cliff fishin'....no !
Blue lings are poisonous. LOL
Blktailhunter53 - lol where did you hear this?
No the blue color comes from biliverdin. It's comes from the bile and somehow mixes with the blood serum in a small percentage of ling's. It's perfectly safe but even the biologists can't explain why it happens.
Aaron Riutzel - exactly. That was the only blue one I caught the whole time. All others were the brown and tan
AnglingAddictsPNW just pulling your chain
@@aaronriutzel2231 Blue lings are due to their diet. They get this color mostly from kelp crab.
Damn. That’s some sketch shit…
