Started in Puget Sound as a boy in 1951. We filled up buckets with flounder and cod from the docks in Tacoma. Once were flooded out of our family of 6 tent a hundred yards from the waters edge on the Columbia beach near Longview when two ships passed in front of us on the North Shore. Mom was the determined fisherman in our family, she spotted the Russian Sputnik satellite from the same beach one night. I imagine you got a battery powered camera camel. Poor fellow fishes the Puyallup River, crashed his new drone into a tree while making a fishing vid. A Medford, Ore. carpenter I watch always says "Keep up the Good Work.: Put God first. Dennis

Paul Monaco - I’ve only fished there once and it was just a quick stop since it was at the very end of the season and the tides sucked. I realized why it was a good area when we had a big low tide and was able to see how that channel runs right up along the bank. I’d love to get out there on a boat and do some trolling. For how simple those tacos were, they were delicious 🤤
That's my fishin' spot . . Hobsonville Point...inner Tillamook Bay...surfperch to go up into estuaries when spawning and delivering young (livebearers)...and sometimes salmon approach the shore, there, as it's near the lower reaches of "The Ghost Hole"....red hot salmon location.

How often would you say you catch red fin perch off the jetty? I'm studying the field and let's face it, most people on the jetty don't want to answer questions about species and their feeding ranges.
John bickle - I have had plenty of luck fishing the jetty for red tail. It just depends on the time of the season. Obviously mating season being the best time. I’ve caught quite a few full of babies so I just released them...

Google is so useful 😂 With these fish, rainbow perch just seems more appropriate with all their colors how they light up. Whatever works and apparently there are others names people call them as well 😆 They are the tastiest perch I think I have tried as well🍻
When you are Deep frying fish in a skillet it is always best to put few pieces of the fish in the hot oil that way you do not cool it down as fast Is just idea

I haven’t fished either river recently, what I know is only what I’ve heard and I don’t like passing that info along to you guys without spending time on the water myself. It’s the best way to keep things accurate and up to date...... with that, we usually see the last push of steelhead around this time on the Clackamas, so that’s probably a good bet if you want a shot at a steelhead. By may it’s basically just springers. I’m not sure about access but both rivers should start seeing fish when the water goes up a bit. The temperature has been looking good. Give it another week or two and I will have some solid info
I thought I read that greenling was closed until July in Oregon.... this is what I hate about oregon regulations. They're all over the place with dates and limits.
Northwest Oregon Fishing - Cabrezon usually opens in July. Shouldn’t be any issues with Kelp greenling this time of the year. But I agree. It’s like you have to check multiple sources to get accurate info.
ODFW's site is the worst website in our solar system. It's practically designed for entrapment. And don't get me started on their 16 pixel fish ID photos.

Save yourself some gear and learn a dropper loop and Albright knot
