    What did we learn? Belts slip, bottles run dry... turbos rule!

    • @brianfrost303
      @brianfrost303 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you're trying to run 900hp with anything less than a 10-rib, you're gonna have a bad time.
      So many blower kits are woefully optimistic with their drive system.
      Top fuel motors sure don't have a problem with belt slippage.
      Turbos do rule.. but so does the instant torque of a PD blower. Can never go wrong with boost!

    Cant wait for the 1000hp video. I’d love to see a comparison of how different sized twin screw superchargers behave, between having the right sized on vs to big or to small. A twin charged build would also be awesome.

    Sir, we always hear about the 302 Windsor splitting blocks at around 600 horses, is there any possibility you could do a 302 Big Bang engine??
    I've seen a lot of blown up 302s but never one that cracked the block through the middle.

    Great series, looking forward to the next video. But for future series, I would like to see stuff that relates more to us that are running these on the street. There are way more LS engines on the street then are racing. Like the 6.0 all stock truck guy that wants a turbo but still being able to use his truck around town. There we are not talking about any big bang stuff, but the smallest turbo that makes 8-900 flywheel. How to make it work and how to build it. Plus videos like the back to basics cam swap video you made for comp cams. It has 380.000+ views. We like hands on videos that encourage us to do these mods. We watch these videos because we want to do stuff like this. Keep it up, great stuff. Thank you.

    After watching a few of Richards videos now... I have formed the following opinions:
    1. A 7000 rpm turbo 4.8 is totally sick 🤩
    2. Best of everything stroker LS motors seem to underperform compared to a similar built SBC or SBF 🤨

    Thx Richard for these HP recipes series :), and I was wondering if you could make a video about pistons, cause It seems to be widely accepted (on internet) that cast and hyper pistons are only for NA applications, but I see you running a lot of tests of turbo engines with cast internals so I thought that it would be neat to have a video of you busting some myths regarding the piston materials.

    How about a test to see if plumbing makes a difference? As in rear mount turbo kits or turbos in the bed of a truck where there’s quite a bit of plumbing involved.

    First off.. I want to thank you for truthfully and definitively taking out as many variables as possible with this series.! Excellent content. I love your passion and dedication to this platform. What can expect from a iron 6.0 (L96)..stock LSA cam and crankshaft..6.125 connecting rods.. -11cc dishes pistons..65cc combustion chamber heads 660 springs trunnions 1.7 rockets stainless valving (ls3 hand port) with my 7875 vs gen 2 turbo..(turbosmart 2X 44MM wastegate and 45MM BOV) mishimoto "R" line intercooler.. trying to stay on pump gas or maybe add an additive.. stock LS3 intake.. coils..etc etc.. goal is 700whp with.. am I on the right track? And how beneficial is a haltech 2500 elite over a stock ecm refreshed for my goals? I've been watching alot of your "camshaft" swaps vids.. and feel a little more confident about my cam selection staying on 93 octane. Any input or suggestions will be appreciated.

    Good morning this is about my target hp for my twin turbo 6.0 LS 1971 GS if I could have anyone give me advice it would be you. So far the only thing I ave for it is the Cross Ram intake, a beautiful 05 gen 3 block that had gen 4 guts, I need to get rec port heads (thank you for recommending 823 heads) but I have so many questions for you lol. Should I replace pistons? What cam should I get? After how awesome Edelbrock was I would like to stay with in the com performance group. If you could shoot me a message on my Facebook page for my TH-cam channel I would really appreciate you wisdom ty your the man

    • @richardholdener1727

      If you want to do it right-add pistons and rods (like the Summit stuff). If you want to do it cheap-use stock with ring gap. Add any stage 2 or 3 turbo cam or something similar. Good luck with the dual throttle bodies-that can be tough.

      It's amazing that Richard finds time to genuinely help others in the comments with solid advice for their own engine builds, especially since the relevant information on these engines is truly abundant.. I mean we're talking unavoidably common. There's probably more turbo-related LS-specific info out there on the internet than there is for literally every other engine family combined.

    Quick question, what were the twin turbos that you used on 4.8 LS to achieve ~900HP I might even be able to use slightly smaller twin turbos on a 5.3 LS to achieve around the same or similar numbers. Sometimes a 5.3 LS is easier to find than a 4.8 LS depending on how far I want to go to find one. Thanks

    • @richardholdener1727
      @richardholdener1727  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      twin gt3076 will do close to 900 or gt3582s

    • @rifleman7313
      @rifleman7313 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @richardholdener1727 Thanks, I really appreciate it. I like symmetry, and after watching many of your videos, I thought that it had to be twin gt30's or gt35's if around 900HP is the end goal. Just wanted to know if my thinking was correct. I also thought that I would be able to keep the rpms lower with a 5.3L LS than I would with the 4.8L LS simply because of increased displacement.

    Richard, NASCAR Cup motors make some 850hp from 358 ci why couldn’t it be done with a sub 400 ci LS motor. Turbos coverup all things wrong about your combo, NA high hp motors are far more interesting than a “crutch” turbo engine which have become so dull to watch.

    • @Polygraph2131

      i realize this is a year old, but from what I can find on google nascar cup motors are cost at minimum 50k, these motors cost less than 15. you can definitely build a 900hp na build but it ain't gonna be as cheap as a budget turbo build, and believe it or not most people don't have nascar budgets to drop on a motor.
