Summit Racing’s Project 1000: A 1,000 Horsepower 6.0L LS Engine Build (Part 2, Top End & Dyno Run)

In Part 1, we introduced you to Project 1000, a 6.0L Stroker 408 engine based on a Chevy Performance cast iron LS engine block. Our goal is to build a LS motor that’ll deliver 1,000 rear-wheel horsepower, and we’re using off-the-shelf parts right from the Summit Racing website to do it.
While that first video showcased much of the engine’s bottom end and rotating assembly, now we’re going up top to show you Project 1000’s cylinder heads, ignition, EFI system, and perhaps most importantly, its twin turbo setup.
Then we take our Project 1000 LS high performance build to the engine dyno for some tuning and to see if we hit our horsepower goal. And we’ll show you the results, dyno chart and all. Then, we’ll recap the whole build and share what we learned along the way.
