Someday when you are passing thru the D.C. area go to the annex of the Air & Space Museum out in Chantilly, VA. It is called theSteven F. Udvar-Hazy Center and if comprised of 2 large hangars containing thousands of exhibits including the Space Shuttle Discovery, a Concorde jet, and many full sized military aircraft.
sick as a dog right now... curling up with tea and watching ur videos always makes me feel much better. youre my favourite content creator in the world... u definitely had a part in sparking my love for roadside attractions and theme parks! thanks. come up to canada sometime
Oh, this is awesome! I haven't been to DC since I was 17 in 1976. I really want to go back!! Such a cool place. You could spend a month in DC and not see all the exabits. Thank you!!
It’s fun very quiet. You hear the burners. Go but it’s very peaceful. Depending on winds. Easy landing or at times a few bumpy / hard landings. Well worth. The fun.
Thanks for the tour , we’re going in August, after 4-5 days in Gatlinburg. visiting from Australia. First saw Gatlinburg here on TCB, decided to visit!
It's cool that you visited both the Air and Space Museum and the Postal Museum because my grandfather had a job who intersected both as he was a Postal Inspector at Logan Airport who was responsible for managing the process of inspecting any domestic or international mail that came through Logan Airport. He had the clearance to go out on the runway and everything.
I grew up in the Baltimore area so school field trips often went to DC and the various Smithsonian museums. Crow and I enjoyed at least a once a year trip there until we moved to the Eastern Shore. It's been 4 years and holy crap do we miss it! Thank you for this vid. We enjoyed it soooo much!! PS How sad is it that they closed down the Newseum????
Morning Jacob 🤓📸🌞 the Smithsonian I would love to see in person, I'll just see threw your video for now. thanks for sharing this. Stay awesome my friend.
My favorite Smithsonian museum, besides Natural History. It's been a while since I've been here. The last time I visited a museum there again it was Natural History 7 years ago. I grew up going to the Smithsonian museums. I went on school trips and with Girl Scouts and family members.
Jacob, have you ever travelled the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel? It's the 8th wonder of the world according to their hype. Some neat little museums on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The Stuckey's there is a must visit. Oh, and Jen would LOVE the Chincoteague ponies!
I've only been to the Smithsonian Museum of History and the Aquarium back in the early 80's. One thing I really remember was the black squirrels in the front lawn that were so tame they'd come up to you to be feed.
I always love the ASM. It's what I always figured would be heaven for aviation and space exploration nerds. I need to go back since i last went in 2018. And as for your anecdote on Columbia, that is a partial truth as Apollo's 8 and 10 also visited the moon before Armstrong,Collins, and Aldrin.
Great museum Volluntaired there 3 times at the Garber Facility. Did one day at the Air n Space Museum with a bug infestation on a Japanase pilor gear. And did restoration 2 times on the Japanse Serian float plane.. cool place..
Northrop Grumman won the contract to research and develop a railway to the moon. To transport people and equipment to the lunar surface . Crazy. Love this museum video
here's a future idea for you Mr. carpetbagger, You should go on an Owney inspired roadtrip and stop in all the same cities he did and bring the plush Owney with you and add a pin/tag from each city. it would be really cool if you could recreate Owney's travels. and while you're at it you cold visit other unique attractions in those cities.
9:31 That was actually the 1950-1986 Frontier Airlines displayed there. The current Frontier Airlines today was founded in 1994 by a former United Airlines pilot and former employees from the old Frontier Airlines due to Continental Airlines ending their hub at Denver Stapleton Airport and no plans to use the hub at the newly constructed DIA Airport opening in 1995. Frontier Airlines became the worst airline after 2013 due to transiting to an ultra low cost carrier. I remember Frontier Airlines having TVs in each seat where you can pick which cable TV channels to watch and their seats were more comfortable then, but they took the TVs out by 2014. I flew Frontier Airlines from Louisville to Denver in October 2007 and I got to watch TV Land at 30,000 feet.
Glens Falls NY has a hot air balloon festival every year! Might be fun to look into. It's called the Adirondack Balloon Festival. 🙂 So many different hot air balloons are there. Very pretty.
How is there not a movie about the life of ROSCOE TURNER? Flying around with a lion cub as a copilot? You described him as "eccentric" which just makes me want to learn more about this guy! Which I'm gonna do... I'm going to Google him right after this. I lived in the DC area for five years until last month...but you saw more fun stuff at the museums than I did in all that time. But hey, if you see the Voyager spacecraft there, my dad was one of the lead Engineers on it and in the room where its displayed is the International Halley Watch project, which I worked on. ;)
If you want try air balloon riding, I think they give them in Anthony Kansas Lake during summer it's called balloon fest. They bring them from all over.
Disappointing they've moved the original 11' filming model of the "USS Enterprise" off display - that's a highlight. Also, yeah, visit the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center out by Dulles airport - amazing collection.
As far as postal inspectors go, at every postal plant, over the workroom floor, there was a hidden corridor with tiny slit windows all around the room. A very large room.. Inspectors would use this space to watch mail clerk’s incognito, make sure there was no theft. You never knew when they might be watching, although once when I was opening the postal counter for business I could smell cigarette smoke above me. Smoking was prohibited in building. Pretty sure was Postal Inspector up there watching me and the mail carriers. Kinda unsettling even when you know you are innocent of any wrongdoing. LO! They still work that way.
lol You almost would have had chance to meet up with Adam the Woo, there in Washington DC. Adam was at Reagan National airport on Tuesday to connect with a flight to Orlando. But after a long delay, he was able to fly home. But he was prepared to stay in DC unexpectedly & make the circumstances turn out to stay to make some vlog videos. Adam was able to keep his original plan & posted a blasé vlog Disney Hollywood Studios. I commented on Adam’s video DC would have made for better content! lol
There was other capitols of United states(9 over all) Trenton, Philadelphia, New York City, Lancaster PA, York pa, Baltimore, Annapolis, Princeton, Now: Washington D.C When comes to mail delivery many hotels was used as post offices 1962 is when first zip codes were used
I never fly, and I did one time and got covid bad. This lady was sick on the flight, and I was sitting beside her. I'll never fly again. I drive everywhere
My bad I was thinking of the wrong dog. What with what's in the news lately. Both stories are horrible! Something's crotchety because of old age instead of finding a good place for it, it's just shot!
Great recommendation! Ton of aviation goodies + they have Enola Gay
Better than the Mall museum in my opinion.
Great museum .
_Correct. Those items are there._
sick as a dog right now... curling up with tea and watching ur videos always makes me feel much better. youre my favourite content creator in the world... u definitely had a part in sparking my love for roadside attractions and theme parks! thanks. come up to canada sometime
Hope you feel better soon.
_Speaking of dogs __35:24_
I love the Smithsonian museums, Ive been to several including the Air & Space. There's so many that you would need several days to explore them.
VERY COOL museums!! Thank you for the tours, Carpetbagger!!!
I think I’ve been to that museum more than any museum. It’s a great one. I haven’t been in forever, but I would love to get back over there.
I guess time really does fly 6:25 ! Thanks for the elevated video, CB!
I LOVE the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Washington D.C. They have a lot of interesting exhibits there. Hope you have a great day Jacob! 😊
That dog is like you, wearing badges of where he has been.😅
Always look forward to your videos! Safe travels!
I would love too go too this air and space museum it looks fun
Oh, this is awesome! I haven't been to DC since I was 17 in 1976. I really want to go back!! Such a cool place. You could spend a month in DC and not see all the exabits. Thank you!!
Speaking of evil canevil, you need to visit the evil canine museum at the harley davison dealership in Topeka, Kansas.
One of the best channels out there. Keep up the good work! 😀
There are two way Wright flighters in North Carolina one in Spencer Shops or NCTM and one at Kitty Hawk.
Happy Day, Jacob ❤
Hope you get to check out the "Church Hill Railroad Tunnel Collapse Memorial of 1925 in Richmond, VA.
Great video! Today I learned there is a Smithsonian Postal museum, so many amazing displays.
Thank you for what you do. I cannot travel as much as I want, so I travel through your eyes. Inspiring.
Thanks again for a great video, Jacob. Take care my friend and safe travels as always.
It’s fun very quiet. You hear the burners. Go but it’s very peaceful. Depending on winds. Easy landing or at times a few bumpy / hard landings. Well worth. The fun.
Space pens are the best pens to write on tires as a tire engineer.
Cool museum.
You would love the Virginia Air and Space Museum in Hampton, VA!
I concur. Plus the Hampton Carousel that's next door just reopened. And i believe there are pressed pennies in the VASC!
18:48 I can see my country when Jacob show the giant globe 😆❤
Thanks for the tour , we’re going in August, after 4-5 days in Gatlinburg. visiting from Australia. First saw Gatlinburg here on TCB, decided to visit!
Hopefully I'll get to go to check out the Smithsonian museum someday

Hot air balloon flights are the best! They are noisier than I expected but so amazing! You HAVE to try it!
Moon pie what a time to be alive
Hey Jacob you should come to Wichita Kansas and check out the museums that we have here
I grew up in the Baltimore area so school field trips often went to DC and the various Smithsonian museums. Crow and I enjoyed at least a once a year trip there until we moved to the Eastern Shore. I really enjoyed this video of museums in Washington DC, Jacob! 👍👍👍👍
Just love the Moth man shirt ❤
Thank You for stopping by DC to check out a couple Smithsonian museums 🌟💖 I could spend a week, at least, just visiting all of them ❣️ Amazing 🤩 🙏💝
This one's in the mail bag 😂
"Failure is not an option", it's just the way we learn and improve.
That was Apollo 13, not 8
Post office museum was cool!!
I live 10 miles from D.C. I have not been to the air and space museum in years. Thank you for the video
Very nice , great place to go all those smithonian museum !

Good Morning " YA ALL " Jacob the carpetbagger ..!!
Thank you Jacob that was another great video enjoyed it very much.

I would love to see you go to Kitty Hawk N.C. and vlog the Wright Brothers monument and museum.
The Wright Brothers were from Dayton, Ohio, and that's were their bicycle shop was

One minor quibble, Armstrong did actually say "a man", it just got mushed together because of his accent.
Interesting choice of flight pattern the primitive gps appears to be flying
Very interesting! Hope you go to the International Spy Museum there next.
Love your videos as always. Hey did you hear that the Queen Mary Halloween attraction is back this year. I know how much you love Halloween 🎃.

The wright brothers were right

PLEASE! Add pins to Owney. That would be awesome. He'd match your hat and would be great to do in his memory. ❤❤❤
Good video x
When are you going to visit the intrepid and liberty science center?

Thanks you
Yes he films things and yes he keeps it for himself and he does publish it
I love you video keep up all the hard work man love from uk
Wrong entrance again 😂 Do you have any Star Wars plans with Jen for Sat.
Fun video
I bet a lot of the things you were wanting to see are at the other air and space building
You can still get a very good view of the White House from the North lawn
My husband toured the white house on our honeymoon last year. It was amazing
I can attest to the sounds produced by a Tri-Motor, I've flown aboard a couple of them. Only two or three are still air-worthy.
Dang penny machine stole your money. I hope you told an employee so they can put an “out of order” sign on it. They’ll give you your money back too.
Do you know where you should go? Someday you should the Corning museum of glass in Corning,New York.York.
One day we need to put a pair of Jacob's Crocs in the Smithsonian
Disappointing they've moved the original 11' filming model of the "USS Enterprise" off display - that's a highlight. Also, yeah, visit the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center out by Dulles airport - amazing collection.

Thomas the tank engine going to be at Henery ford village may 11 12 18 19 in michigan and you get to visit the village at same time.

When comes to mail delivery many hotels was used as post offices
1962 is when first zip codes were used
Proof drones everywhere a worker I saw today was flying one over a roof to survey it so didn't have to get a ladder out
Definitely a safer way to do it!
THE AMAZING..
THECARPETBAGGER🚐💨💨💨💨
I think more stops at places where strange, unusual, or lesser known history happened, is in your future.
I had no idea the Smithsonian was free to use citizens!!
Not just US citizens, free to everyone.
The great thing? It's not just one museum but several!!
Space food? That seems to be popular at the moment.
Wow nice
where's the smashed penny?
Do the national archives
What happens when I'm not American and I wanna visit the museum ? Can I buy some tickets for it online ^^" ?
I never fly, and I did one time and got covid bad. This lady was sick on the flight, and I was sitting beside her. I'll never fly again. I drive everywhere
The drone thing is absolute government overreach
I think so, especially since I’m still allowed to fly it just not allowed to use the footage
Is Abraham Lincoln’s hat there?
It’s at Smithsonian American History museum
Didn't John Denver die in an Ultra-Lite?
He figures that the government would be the first place to rip you off on the smash pennies and it's so sad about that little dog being shot
To say nothing of the poor goat that got shot twice because of poor aim the first time. What a horrid person!
My bad I was thinking of the wrong dog. What with what's in the news lately. Both stories are horrible! Something's crotchety because of old age instead of finding a good place for it, it's just shot!
Go to USMC museum
My fiance flies drones and he don't have a commercial drones license he's never had one
🖤💜🖤💜
The Unabomber died last year on June 10th 2023 at 81
Can't imagine how incredibly frightened that poor chimp was. Disgusting.
