I’m from Michigan and can confirm this is one of my favorite museums, it’s incredible
I'm a Michiganader too 😊
Me three❤❤❤
@@hellotrump2024 Me four!
Me five!
@@disgust4941 it's nice seeing lots of Michiganaders here
Best museum in the world! I work in the museum store. Thanks for coming by 🎉
Thank you for visiting, promoting, and supporting the Henry Ford Museum! Please return and see Greenfield Village! The holiday events are wonderful too. I hope you make it back for those. ❤️
(This Michigander appreciates you giving us some love)
My son actually works at Greenfield Village. The wife and I have been going to The Henry Ford (and Greenfield Village) since we were kids, and we have gone as a family many times a year. Two of the best museums ever!
Love all the museums you're doing. Thanks for the great content!
This has been fun 😊
Thank you Jacob for the museum visits. Greenfield village was one I was hoping you might see. I saw it about about 45 yrs ago. I had a good time but have forgotten a lot of it.
That 57 minutes went so fast! Amazing place. Thank you, Jacob! 🚍🏒
These are my favorite museums. I like the randomness and how big it is can’t wait for the next visit.
I too am from the wonderful state of Michigan n this combination of Museum n historical village is certainly my all time favourite n I have been there myriad amounts of times in my life of 67 yrs. It is a total treat to see my favorite vlogger at my favorite museum!!! Your narrative is sooo interesting n I love the way you turn a descriptive phrase!!! Your Rosa Parks insight is delightful!!!
❤ I'm playing catch up with your videos Jacob. I want to say THANK YOU for speaking on the civil rights and the injustice that took place. Also THANK YOU for being a good person, and recognizing the fact that racism still exists UNFORTUNATELY in this world❤
As a life long resident of Michigan, this museum is a total gem and I have visited many times over the years and I always discover new things... the village is amazing too! Wonderful history! My favorite is the Dymaxion House!
At least by getting the duplicate Mold-A-Rama you are showing support for them in general! You could donate the extras somewhere or give away. Loved that house!
Aw, man. Missed the giant engine display! And the Spirit of St. Louis replica and the DC-3 parked out back. Also, the Rocket steam locomotive hooked up to operating air. So much to see. Plenty more to see, then add the Village. It's a great institution. Great video. New subscriber. Thanks for sharing.
Great tour - and like you said, you've only touched the surface---so much to see!
Next time, please video the front exterior, which is an exact replication of Independence Hall.
We had the same phone as you when I was growing up. It was mounted to the wall in our kitchen, and the cord extended all the way to the living room.
Happy New Year to you, Jenn and all your loved ones ❤
I keep thinking you're going to take a day or two off, but nope, you plow on through. Loved the museum. I remember those Holiday Inn signs, and I'm fairly sure I have one of those towels somewhere, as well as an ashtray or two. And I think it's almost time for an end of the year review of the pressed penny collection. I really want to see it spread out in all it's glory.
This is my first find of this channel I love this!! It’s so wholesome and feel good:)
I so appreciate when you talk about COMPASSION conquering evil. Thank you 🙏 Jacob TCB.
My favorite museum in the US.
Bravo! Glad you came back to visit Henery Ford Museum... I grew up in Pontiac, MI. My yearly end of the school year class trip was going to Greenfield Village, My favorite was Lincoln's rocking chair where you could see the blood stains... It used to be in the Village back in the 60's
My mom grew up in Pontiac in the 60s
Canadian here love this museum. I have been there many times.
wow this museum is one of the reasons why I call Michigan my home! I have lived here for 30 years after the fires of 93 and Northridge of 94! Michigan is so safe no smog no traffic no fires no earthquakes! enjoy your time here I love this museum I love the Christmas events that they have here so much good! thank you for sharing!
don't let the 50° weather fool you this is Michigan... we haven't had a proper white Christmas for almost 7 years! I will take this any day. some of the trees around here including the magnolias and the weeping willows are super confused!
I'm a Michiganader too. I'm in Cadillac 😊
I've been to the Henry Ford Museum a couple of times and you did a very thorough job of showing much of what it has to offer. I'm more into the cars, so I didn't dwell as long on much of what you showed us here! Thanks for a great video!
I agree with the viewers that commented on you getting the moldarama n signing them n giving them away, be sure they are such a cool souvenir n exciting to find the machine in places you visit, but lots of us can't get out to collect these fine pieces of Americana memorabilia for ourselves n you are the perfect moldarama ambassador because of your staunch n expressive interest in this form of souvenir acquiring.. attaboy, Carpetbagger!!!
Morning Jacob 🤓📸 you look tire in the video as it starts. I like see this one as a fan of museums. The Ford motor company history. Thanks for sharing this. You getting ur Penny Press for ur collection is great 👍. Take care my friend.
The stains on the Abraham Lincoln chair is a type of hair dye they used back then, it was also used for shoe polish, it was called "Boot Black!" I wondered if you were going to show Edison's last breath. The Henry Ford is Good. You missed the copy of the Spirit of St. Louis used in the Movie. Although if you ever get to Lansing, Michigan check out the R.E. Olds Museum where you can see an actual REO Speedwagon, I talking about the truck, not the Band!
I agree it’s a wonderful place the Henry Ford can’t be beat!
Thank you Carpetbagger for the best museum videos love them have a great day
Great video, the Henry Ford museum is awesome, im from Detroit, yeah, im gonna go to Greenfield village this summer. Haven't been to either in a long time, use to go alot as a kid, sometimes with our school as a field trip.. great place. It has evolved quite a bit over the years, something new every time i visit.
Good morning Jacob & hope you have a great day. Happy New Year to you and Jen. Many blessings for the new year ❤
Another awesome video, Jacob. Till the next one, take care, my friend, and safe travels as always .
Thanks!
Back in the 70s the whole 5th grade class took a trip to greenfield village and spent all day in an 1800 school house. One kid named Eugene was acting up and the teacher set him in the corner with a dunce cap on. We all got little blackboards and chalk to do our assignments on in class.
I just moved to Flint earlier this last year from Kentucky. I've been fascinated by these kinds of things since before I ever knew I'd ever leave my home state, now that I'm here In Michigan I'm making it my mission to take my GF on a date here! I know she is fascinated American history too
Great video, as always, Jacob. If you already have a particular Mold-o-rama, you can always give one to Anna, James or Jenny. As far as assembly lines, I remember reading that Ford got the idea from Samuel Colt who had an assembly line at his firearm factory.
SUPER PROUD of all the pressed pennies you found this year. Absolutely incredible and BTW.. my dog is watching you 👀 😊 🐕
Hey there 👋 carpetbagger it's always amazing to see you're amazing video I always enjoy watching you
That 1965 Mustang moldarama is a replica of one of the ultimate American made Classic Cars from that era. Everyone wanted one!! Our neighbors son Dave Tracz had an aqua one n I remember him out side washing it by hand with the hose in his short shorts n long hair n what a pleasing sight that still is to this day!!!
Loving all the museum videos!! My favorite ❤️
The perfect combination of this extraordinary museum ,but also a village that takes u back in time in a genuine way. The houses are not replicas.🎉❤🎉
Jacob: "Who ever said hockey was hard?"
Me: Some guy tracking the puck, dodging 11 other guys, *and* trying to stay upright on ice? 😀
Kudos to your TH-cam Channel, Jacob! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
My father in law goes there every year to the “old car festival” it’s a good time.
I cannot believe I missed you! I was working that day at the front right next to the wiener mobile mold-a-rama and was around the museum all day. I must have been on a break, dang it! Oh well, glad you documented the old Henry Ford one of my most favorite places to be.
Longtime fan from Livonia, keep up the good work!
Also, regarding the Lincoln Death Chair there actually is some of his blood on it. Hope I'll see you next time you're in the Detroit area.
😢 i would be so upset too
Can't wait to see your year of the pressed penny review ✌️❤️
😊looking forward to it
I love your museum videos Jacob....you explain everything so well & I definitely learn something new every time. ✌️❤️🙂
Same 😊
I went there during my trip to detroit its a great museum
Have a Happy New Year Bagger,, hello Jen
This is in my home state
I try to go the The Henry Ford/Greenfield Village a few times a year, but my kids have gotten older and nobody has the time, to go with me anymore😮💨. 2024 was the final year of my yearly family pass unfortunately. Great video Jake!
Another amazing video Jacob. Thank you
I haven’t been to The Henry Ford in about 40 years. It’s changed so much! It seems as if a lot of displays are gone. I wonder if the DC-3 is still outside in the back? This, and the village, are on my bucket list to see again with my husband, who has never been there.
Me and my dad used to watch you all the time he even made his own carpetbagger hat but he died in June 3rd 2024 I haven’t look at your channel since it feels weird to watch you
Hi Jacob.... Just love this Museum.. Some of the most amazing Items.!!!! XXXX
I was telling the wife a month or so ago it was getting around the time for carpetbagger to start doing his museum videos and Has he delivered. multiple ones in the past couple weeks all nearly an hour long if not longer I love this content.
Safe travels, buddy. Northern Indiana says hello. The gilmore museum in MI is worth a trip!
We were annual pass holders for many many years when we lived in Michigan and it’s still one of my absolute favorite places. Every American should visit The Henry Ford at least once in their life. The amount of history persevered in the museum as well as the Village is beyond measure.
A fact you might not know about Rosa Parks… the now late Mike Ilitch (founder of Little Caesars and owner of Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings) paid for Rosa’s apartment until her death. She was originally living in a house when she moved to Detroit, but she had been a victim of robbery where she was beaten so Mike wanted to move her to a safe apartment building on the river front. It was the same apartment building that Aretha Franklin lived in.
It doesn't look like the best weather to go into Greenfield Village, but I hope you get the chance to see it some sunny day.
Awesome video, thanks for taking us along with you!
I wish I had a museum like this close to me. It has amazing collection of historical items and I am glad you got to tour that futuristic house.
9:27 This Western Electric Card Dialer phone used punch cards to encode business information and to communicate with corporate computers. This phone would have been part of a system purchased by a large business. Each of the alphabetical cards would have stored useful telephone numbers; the other punch cards would have held programs to run on a central computer.
The Card Dialer phone was considered the first Speed-dialer in the history of phone communication. You insert the card, pick up the receiver, hit the call button, and the phone would autumatically dial the cad punched on the card.
I am watching this after your ride in San Francisco in the self driving car n it is hilarious that you thought you would love riding in the self driving car and it was TOTALLY the opposite effect, was nerve wracking n paranoia creating experience n I TOTALLY agree with that assessment after watching you go through it!!!
I went to the Henry Ford Museum and to Greenfield Village for a field trip in fifth grade. Very fun and interesting places to visit. 🙂
I visited it on my channel back in the summer. Absolutely loved it.
You have to show us the whole collection of pressed pennies once you are done!!
I was born and raised about half an hour north of The Henry Ford/ Greenfield Village 63 years ago and have been visiting there every year since about 1966. I recommend a visit to both the museum and the village to everyone. There is also a tour you can take to the Rouge Assembly Plant that buses leave from just outside the museum. Definitely try to make the Halloween and Christmas events in the village, plus there are antique car shows that fill the village with vintage cars of every kind.
They have really improved the museum since I was there, early 80s. I remember rows of machinery with no real explanations, and Thomas Edison’s last breath was hanging in a plastic bag on a revolving pegboard display. Now it is soooo much better.
This place isn't even an hour away from me. :) Glad you found one of the MANY places worth visiting here!
Someone on high might want to start using that car again 🤷🏼
Thanks Jacob.... Happy New Years to you both when it happens 🎉
I want to go visiting that museum really bad. After seeing the TH-cam VLOG.
Yes! It's amazing. It's huge. Plan on taking all day😊
I love the Henry Ford. Was an annual pass holder for a couple of years. I always have to visit my favorite car all the way back in the corner. '48 Tucker. It's a fun place and you can feel the history come alive along with the somber moments and buildings. You should visit the Gilmore Car Museum if you haven't been. They have a car and the set of The Gnome Mobile. Pretty cool as well.
I've been there! It's a cool museum
Fun Fact : Henry Ford did indeed have a significant impact on the development of Richmond Hill, Georgia and My GGF J.F. Gregory was Supervisor of Mr. Ford's Farm and general manager of his Projects
“Break it you bought it”!
As he places the Model T pencil sharpener back in pieces.
😂😅
One of the BEST museums I have gotten to visit!
The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation is amazing The Rosa Parks bus and the Hockey exhibit were highlights. Seeing the car John F. Kennedy was in upon his assassination was great too, really sad as well because of what happened but what a historic find.
Happy New Year to you and Jenn! Hope you have a lot of plans cooking in the oven for 2025. 😊😊
I used to live near The Henry Ford Museum and Village! Boy do I miss going there!
My mom and I sat on the Rosa Parks bus! What an amazing piece of history! Thank you for doing this video! Makes me miss my home! 😢
Jeez man, didn't realize you were in Michigan until last night with your Marvin video. I was just at Henry Ford museum 2 days ago so just missed you. Would have been cool to meet you.
I probably would faint if I met Jacob 😅😂
I'm going there on Saturday! Too bad I missed you. I'm glad you showed the pressed pennies! I'm planning on purchasing some, too!
Love the museum videos! I have all of the mold a ramas from there and hope to visit one day.
One of my favorite museums.
You most definitely need to go to Williamsburg Virginia. Love to see a video from there
Really enjoying the museum content
Me too 😊
We walk laps there and the village every weekend or day off. We feel blessed to have this place in our town. We cherish it
Its the best musieum I've ever been to. It's 99% the same as it was the first time I went back in 2012... :)
Hocky exhibit reminds me of the Lake Placid Olympic Museum. That would make a great summer trip.
One of the best annual passes ever. I live 15 mins from Henry Ford/Greenfield Village and wear this pass out.
This is one of the best museums I have ever been to, and interesting bit of Trivia, the Regan Limo was the one that they tried to assassinate him in.
Quite interesting. Oh my that didn't sound right 31:05.☺ Reagan was returning to his limousine after a speaking engagement when he was shot at. The Kennedy car is a sad piece of history. The 1965 Holiday Inn room with the shag carpet is pretty. You actually had to use a rake on a shag carpet to fluff it up and to remove debris. Thank you for this video!
Yes I had shag carpeting in my teenage bedroom with dark purple n blue flowers complete with rake n loved it!!
@ you had a beautiful teenage bedroom! 🥰
Awesome video, Jacob!!!! I love the cars!
My favorite part that you didn't show was the power plants. They are put together so well that at first I didn't think they were exhibits.
Excellent video my friend. It too boggles the mind that Kennedy's limo was used well into the late 70's. It would be interesting to find the reasoning behind that decision
I also have a Carpetbagger hat that is in dire need of replacement as it is starting to fall apart being straw!!! The placement of the pins n buttons is all important!!!
It’s been a minute since I’ve watched! Welcome!
Thank you Jacob for another great video. I always look forward to when you post. I click real fast. ☺️my husband Andy and I my name is Sue
love all you do we enjoy going with on all your adventures
Take care of yourself Jacob & take care of Jenn
Happy New Year 🎊
Your video always have a special place in my everyday life 😊 Don't get into rain, you'll get sick
Me too 😊. Brings me so much joy
I can't believe the year of the pressed penny is almost over. Please give us a video of all your pennies. I look forward to the year of the souvenir spoon.
We have awesome vehicles thanks to Henry ford
I really gotta visit this museum!
Yes! It's huge. You'll need the whole day
