  • Street Food Philippines - Bibingkahan In Cebu, Philippines
Previous Cebu video (rural Cebu) ➡️ • Solo In Rural Philippi...
On the way back to Cebu city, I came across some street food stalls which all seem to sell the same item. That caught my attention. If many stalls at one place are all selling the same item it must be something popular. I made a stopp and soon after tried some Bibingkahan, a Filipino street food snack.

Hey Ken, most regions of the Philippines bake Bibingka differently, so just try all😜🤙 That bibingka you ate is authentic, the lady is using coconut husk to bake, which also gives it that smoky coconut smell🤙

Another tip when riding jeepneys from a terminal. Jeepneys leave the terminal only when filled to passenger capacity measured from a petite Filipino. To avoid being squeezed you can pay for two person, So two passenger space is for you. Tell the conductor you are paying for two. and be sure other passengers hear it. That way they will stop passengers filling in your side. and not wait for that last passenger that the conductor will squeeze in. Still it is tight but not that too tight. Urong- urong po! Enjoy!

That bisaya local bibingka was my most favorite snack when i was a kid. I remember when i turned 5 y/o, i requested my late mama to cook bibingka for my birthday. Just bibingka, nothing else. 🥧🥧🥧

Wonderful to try another street food snack along the journey back to Cebu city. A great experience indeed. Yeah, that snack/kuih ( in Malaysia, we call it kuih ) looks yum yum yum. Shout out to that vendor who allows you to film her while preparing them ....indeed a traditional method used by her.
Another interesting content, great video.. it's truly incredible. Thank you very much, Ken.

From other videos you were asking about jeepney fares. There is a fare increase this October. Minimum 12 pesos (vintage PUJ-Public Utility Jeepneys) for first 4 km. Additional PHP1.80 for every kilometer thereafter. For newer PUJ, it's P14 for first 4 km. and 2.20 per km thereafter. Since your jeepney rides were short of 4km. you always paid the minimum fare. (Just in case you are not aware yet). TY. Enjoy!

I’ve been there and I also saw them selling it and everyone was selling this and approaching every traveller but I’m vegetarian so I thought it’s meat or non vegetarian, so I didn’t stop there, I regret it that I missed this one. Next visit, I’ll stop at this place and I’ll try for sure. It looks pretty simple and delicious.

There is a fiesta in that area you visited Sir Ken that's why there are "banderitas" hanging on the streets and there is a parade of music .
I love Bibingka ! here in metro manila we only see vendors of Bibingka when the Christmas is coming , maybe that is their famous delicacies there in that municipality , 'coz you know each places here in the Philippines especially provinces they have their own delicacies or specialty food you just have to ask the locals what are those.
