Truly loving the explore china series mate. I don’t want you to leave, please keep showing us the real china , the food, people and cities are fascinating and you offer a view that the media doesn’t often portray
Get away from governments and government officials, and people are just people everywhere. What I've found most common is that, as an American speaking another language, particularly once you get outside cities, is that the locals think you are a visiting professor or similar. Hindi in rural India, for example, or Arabic just about anywhere.
This China series is my favorite Xiaomanyc content so far! Just seeing you speak their local dialects and blowing the local's minds is so awesome to see!
It’s amazing how people warm up to you when you sound like them. This is across all cultures I’ve witnessed. If we can all talk and share some laughs, we’d all be in a better world
@@summerbreeze50Maybe because we're used to all kinds of people speaking English at all levels of proficiency, there's no surprise or novelty there. English is a common global lingua Franca, so we're not surprised or flattered when someone learns it.

I had no idea how funny Chinese people are until I started watching this channel lol. They always sound serious when I overhear them, but they’re probably just roasting the hell out of me or something 😂
Every video I watch of Xiaoma's, I find myself smiling through the whole thing. This really is some of the best content on earth. Shows how similar everyone on earth is once you can relate to them by simply conversing.
After all this time, you do know that you are a truly amazing language savant. I cannot get over how quickly you learn a language, and not just a few words, but are able to carry out an entire conversation with a native speaker. And not just Asian dialects. I've watched you communicate with no problem in Africa, many European countries, even Native American and Amish Pennsylvania Dutch!! All so very different. You are one supremely gifted and talented young man. And the weight loss looks great!
Xiaoma, you'll probably never read this, but you should know this is invaluable work that you're doing. Showing us all the real China and its incredible people. This is so important in these divisive times. Thank you
And vice-versa: Americans don't hate Chinese people, we interact with Chinese-Americans every day (atleast where i live). The issues are between governments.
Taking the time and effort to learn a seemingly Hard Language, definitely helps a person experience that kind of interaction. Especially if you’re the one visiting a country.
I just stumbled across your channel, the Cree video specifically. I’m studying to be a teacher and I’ve been learning so is much of other cultures during my studies. This is truly a treat.
Those "tizi" seem to be muscat grapes. Very popular in China right now. Unbelievably sweet! Most people have the same reaction because we're used to grapes that are sweet and sour.
@@dingus42 the characters are 提子. its not a brand new word... this guy is talking out his ass. its not popular in china "right now", its literally been a normal fruit in china for centuries. just a variety of grape.
I work for Amadeus Hospitality and I rarely see the cities I work with daily. Chengdu sounds wonderful and I cannot wait to visit....and get an ear wax cleaning. :)
Bro I’ve been subbed to you for a few years and I JUST came across the video of you in Bilbao learning basque, I speak it fluently. I was born and raised in the states and basque was my first language. Learned how to speak English in the 1st grade. I would love to be able to speak to you somehow. Not sure if you’ll see this but I’m in shock after coming across that video. I have NEVER met anybody in person who spoke or understood the language apart from my immediate family. Big props to you for giving it a shot 🦾
I love you. I've been looking for something like lingopie for about a year. I literally just got the year subscription. Mi mejor amigo es mexicano y el me ayudo a aprender espanol.
What I love about these videos… It really shows how nice the Chinese people are. I myself have been living in Guangzhou, China since 2008. Teaching English. And the people here and everywhere I have gone are super nice. I can guarantee that most foreigners, especially people from America have no idea what China is like. I can remember when I came here in 2008 for the first time I had no idea what to expect. Truthfully, I expected to be people walking with their heads down maybe even a rickshaw. But no, it was a lively place very modern. And since the time I've been here it's only gotten more modern and more incredible.
That is definitely true of Chengdu as well. I taught ESL in Chengdu in 2015 and the people were very nice, and very modern. There were a lot of things I was surprised at though, as my only experience with Chinese culture had been from immigrants from the Guandong province and Hong Kong to Canada (Victoria) For example, I don't think I realized that Chinese Food included anything hot and spicy until I was in my teens, maybe late teens!
This is more like it dude. This is a fascinating video - using your language to explore and more importantly share the things most people would never understand. Good work
It is so funny when I see people in China and how different they are then one would expect because of their government and the media.. is refreshing to see how different they really are from the persona they are given wrongly.. people seem to have an issue separating governments and politics from the people.. most of china seems very laid back like rural america. friendly and helpful. Thank you for the content as always.
Wonderful. I love seeing the humour of different nationalities..... The little girl was so adorable the way she ran off saying "thanks!" All the women love xiaomanyc....they all go very coy and start playing with their hair. It's so nice to see the human side of China rather than the news headlines about Chinese bullying in the South China Sea. How refreshing to see pleasant human interaction.
Your channel has really changed my perspective on Chinese people/china. They seem pretty cool/outgoing when you’re able to communicate with them. Pretty cool to see
Love your Chinese content. Sure I enjoy the rest of them, but since your Chinese and its dialects are your second strongest, just fascinating. Amazing how you learn so fast all the new languages. Me and my paltry two languages are put to shame.
So interesting to hear about most Chinese not taking cold drinks. I had a connecting flight through Shanghai airport and arrived off the plane in to a very hot airport and all the water fountains gave out was boiling hot water 💀 Interesting to know it comes from medicinal beliefs
It comes from the fact that historically, water is not potable in most sections of the world. People will drink luke warm tea because they know that at some point in time, the water was heated and the germs killed.

13:30 Bro rolled up thinking you didn't speak Chinese, pretty much saying "just give him whatever, he doesn't know" 😂
😂😂😂 was looking for this comment 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I had no idea how funny Chinese people are until I started watching this channel lol. They always sound serious when I overhear them, but they’re probably just roasting the hell out of me or something 😂
The lady was sweet but I wouldn't have spent my money there. The guy saw a tourist and immediately wanted to rip him off.
Still waiting for my dolphin echolocation video. Come on, you can learn! 🐬
YES 😂
I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of this kind of video
I love these videos in China man they're so good! You have such a nice chill perspective for showing things
Every video I watch of Xiaoma's, I find myself smiling through the whole thing. This really is some of the best content on earth. Shows how similar everyone on earth is once you can relate to them by simply conversing.
A TH-cam channel like yours helps bring the world closer. Feels like a more personal level. Just my opinion
Of all the language channel, this and Kazu language are my favorite.
The Chinese people are so friendly in China. They love that you speak Chinese. Loving this visit ❤
I'm American and I love Chinese Culture. I love ancient China history and I want to visit Beijing one day.
@@vincentbarrett9264You lot keep saying the same bullshit. There are many people who hate both China and the Chinese.
Taking the time and effort to learn a seemingly Hard Language, definitely helps a person experience that kind of interaction. Especially if you’re the one visiting a country.
🎉 Yes keep up the uploads ❤
4:38 You would of shock everyone if you join in and sign along with the aunties!
6:27 The ice cream man is awesome.
I just stumbled across your channel, the Cree video specifically. I’m studying to be a teacher and I’ve been learning so is much of other cultures during my studies. This is truly a treat.
Mate, you prove to be a Great Ambassador, every where you go. Respect! 👏🏽👏🏽👋🇦🇺
Those "tizi" seem to be muscat grapes. Very popular in China right now. Unbelievably sweet! Most people have the same reaction because we're used to grapes that are sweet and sour.
do you know what the characters are? Or is it a brand new word that hasn’t gotten official ones yet
@@dingus42 the characters are 提子. its not a brand new word... this guy is talking out his ass. its not popular in china "right now", its literally been a normal fruit in china for centuries. just a variety of grape.
walking around China in an I love BJ shirt....
I think it stands for Beijing. But it's still funny 😂
@@CringePotato Well, I'm glad someone cleared that up for me...
He loves beijing, stop judging him.
He bought it in a previous video:

@@CringePotato - I think you are right and also think that the folk who had this printed exactly knew the double entendre
Haven’t seen your videos in years and glad it popped up on my feed again. Dude, you look so healthy! Way to go man, bravo.
Best video’s are always in market ❤ especially the conversations with the locals are the best ☀️ …. More videos like this plz 🤍
I have seen your videos a lot but this time finally I watch yours from my hometown where I just went 2 weeks ago. Have fun!
Awesome video! Looking good, my man! Thank you.
Love your videos. Really shows that we are not so different after all, no matter what country.
Its great that not just the reactions of the people you speak to are blown away, but all the passerbys that overhear you speaking. They all smile.
I love the videos! Such wonderful interactions!
I work for Amadeus Hospitality and I rarely see the cities I work with daily. Chengdu sounds wonderful and I cannot wait to visit....and get an ear wax cleaning. :)
That little girl is never forgetting this interaction in her life lol, you made her day
Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
Thank you for your videos, I have always loved china and wanted to visit, your videos make me want to go more. I hope your next stop is Malaysia :)
Love the shirt! lol
They'll sell a million of em.
No copyright problems either.
You do know it's for BeiJing, right? :)
He bought it a few episodes ago
5:47 BING CHILLING 🥶🥶🍦
John Cena would be proud
Bro I’ve been subbed to you for a few years and I JUST came across the video of you in Bilbao learning basque, I speak it fluently. I was born and raised in the states and basque was my first language. Learned how to speak English in the 1st grade. I would love to be able to speak to you somehow. Not sure if you’ll see this but I’m in shock after coming across that video. I have NEVER met anybody in person who spoke or understood the language apart from my immediate family. Big props to you for giving it a shot 🦾
Ari, you are looking much slimmer and more fit - I congratulate you on your discipline in excess.
Why haven't you started a TH-cam channel to inform the planet? Expand your teaching platform. 👍
Are you allowed to speak out against the government in public like you can in any truly free society?
@@Johnnybgood76 Bot or idiot ?
@@Johnnybgood76 Let's not get carried away there.
I love these videos with you speaking with people. It's wholesome good fun. Shye shye!
3:45 homie got killed
Did he loose wheight? How can you not watch this with a big grin on your face! I love it!
I'm vlogging in China too 😁🎥 It's amazing here in China ❤
I saw the shirt and immediately paused the video to go to the comments lmao💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I hope you're having a great time in China!
High Fives!
Love that shirt. Very wholesome
You're lookin great bro! Holy cow! Good job!
This is more like it dude. This is a fascinating video - using your language to explore and more importantly share the things most people would never understand. Good work
When in NY, you should look up the nearest BJ's Wholesale store and walk in wearing that shirt! You'll probably get a big discount from management 😅
You’re loving the life I long for. I traveled the world in the Navy and I miss that part of it.
Just in time I'm having dinner!! Thank youu for the video Xiaoma!! 😊
Man, I love fried fake meat in gutter oil!
14:32 That little girl was SO excited to meet somebody from The USA..How sweet was that?!
The ear cleaning seems too rough for me
Cool to see you in my hometown! I haven't been there in over half a decade after COVID and haven't gotten the chance to visit
You’re a great ambassador for the United States. At the same time I love learning about China.
You’ll forget English with how many languages u speak

It is so funny when I see people in China and how different they are then one would expect because of their government and the media.. is refreshing to see how different they really are from the persona they are given wrongly.. people seem to have an issue separating governments and politics from the people.. most of china seems very laid back like rural america. friendly and helpful. Thank you for the content as always.
yay new video!
your videos are so genuine and fun to watch
Love your work! , Curious would you happen to know the Teochew Dialect?
that guy on the bike was funny! "stop listing in on us, what can you learn?"
Hello my friend!
"Stop listening in on us, what are you gonna learn!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Your channel has really changed my perspective on Chinese people/china. They seem pretty cool/outgoing when you’re able to communicate with them. Pretty cool to see
15:34 I would say you're still handsome by American standards!
5:03 it's like a damn free agency signing for a wife instead of an athlete lmao
I have the same shirt, bought it from a market with a shirt displayed next to it saying ‘milf hunter’
BeiJing
I Love Chengdu! Lived there for like 2 months... and had no idea how big the city was until I was there. Awesome place to explore!
I had a connecting flight through Shanghai airport and arrived off the plane in to a very hot airport and all the water fountains gave out was boiling hot water 💀
Interesting to know it comes from medicinal beliefs
It comes from the fact that historically, water is not potable in most sections of the world. People will drink luke warm tea because they know that at some point in time, the water was heated and the germs killed.
Love the shirt 😂
🤣
love your videos !!! and your China experience is amazing!!!
the i love BJ shirt is crazy lmao :')
Just back from China a week ago. It was amazing. I’ll be going back in a few months. I was inChengdu for 3 days. It was my favourite city.

Haven’t watched you in a while. You are looking AMAZING!!!
