As a child I used to spend our summer holidays in Guernsey. My havent things changed. My memories were from the 1960's. I am amazed just how few greenhouses still exist on the route you took. From my memory it seemed that every field or corned you had a greenhouse. I used to swim in the tidal pool, is that still there? I have only just found your channel, so will have to go and see what else you have posted. Its nice to see courteous driving is still the way of life on the island. I no live in Cyprus and the driving technique is totally the opposite. Thanks for posting and stirring up the gray matter as its nice to know that there is something else that I still remember

Wow! Total memory hit! When we were married Sue and I had our first flat in one of the buildings on the right at the top of the Rohais as you turned into Victoria road. Then you went through Ville au Roi roundabout (didn't Ruette Braye Motors have a garage there opposite Andy Priaulx's dad's place?). And then you went towards the Tielles - past Torteval Stores and beyond the chateau - my parents bought their first place there. Very enjoyable thank you

That 'Hire' sign on Millard and Co. has been there since at least 1987. I'm sure it's been there since my Cordier Hill school days.

    👍 another great video Ross,
So far every holiday for me in Guernsey I’ve been lucky with the weather, the only time it rained heavily virtually all day was in 2017’ and just took the 91 & 92 all round bus routes for £1 at the time, great way to see the island

Another tug at the old memory bank! The Mallard was where we started the first of the Guernsey Easterruns on Good Friday back in 1988(?). At around 8.00am, the lobby was full of runners and stank of embrocation oil! Not welcomed by the residence of the hotel having breakfast! Strange we're sitting here having our lunch here in Perth WA, watching your video, and its 36c!!! No rain likely for a couple of weeks! Stay safe.

Hi Barry, I know the mallard well, my wife used to work there. Wow 36c is very hot we had a few days here last year around that temperature (40c) and was very uncomfortable for most people here in guernsey. Enjoy your lunch👍

I used to live on the coutanchez and my drive back always took me past cappelles - no option but to surf - either that or lose a mirror on the wall!

Driven the Forest road many times but very seldom further along so that was almost new territory for me. I see the trees are still along the Ville Au Roi Surely they are getting dangerous so close to the road. The Mallard was none existing when we were there - could you stop some time and show us more about the complex. Thanks Ross.

Just before you pulled into where you were going to work there was a house on the right just before the bend. During the war British Commando's stormed that house a shot a number of Germans who were billeted there.

Hi Ross, Another great video. I know you were doing it to make a video but instead of turning right in St. Peter Port wouldn't it had been quicker to go up the hill where they do the hill racing into Forest Rd? Keep up the good work.

Driving on the pavements is absolute common sense, use it when it is safe/essential. We all know that some folks do not have any common sense, there lies the danger.

To be honest, I wouldn't really mind it when you're stuck in traffic from time through time during the video. But then again, that is my personal taste.
