I've begun wondering how people in the crown dependencies feel about Brexit. No one talks about you guys when these issues show up in the British or international media. I know there's a bit of a tourist economy in the channel islands and that many of your ferries originate in Normandy. (I lived in Rennes for three months once and in London for ten years.) I almost wonder if the Channel Islands would do best becoming a microstate like Monaco and Lichtenstein with those very favorable treaties microstates have with the EU. But i also know how British identity is fairly important there too historically. Looking in as an outsider, it seems to me that you all would thrive even more being inside Schengen and using the Euro while retaining that Britishness in your culture. The French tourists would love it. And international tourists would see the islands as a fascinating and beautiful novelty. I imagine the Isle of Man would benefit from a similar arrangement (and perhaps their endangered Celtic language would get a boost from such a political arrangement.)
Simply enchanting! What a blessing for you to be able to travel around & what a blessing for us that you include us in your adventures. Many thanks!!!!
Our family absolutely love Guernsey. The island is beautiful and St Peters Port is lovely. The island was so floral in summer when we visited, so much history as well. We ended up buying some Guernsey flowers online when we got back home from Guernsey Flowers by Post - some very beautiful Freesias that reminded us of the island. We will be going again this year!!! Brilliant island. I love this travel guide, really sums up the Island!
I lived in Guernsey for a few years about 20 years ago. This video brought back so many precious memories. I simply loved this island. It is definitely worth a visit. I plan to visit again with my family one day soon. It really is a magic place for the soul.
I have to say, sometimes it takes a video from someone else for me to sit back and appreciate what we have here in Guernsey. Fantastic video, thank you.
I totally agree with you! I was born in Guernsey and grew up in the Fermain - Jerbourg - Moulin Huet area. I took it for granted. Never came to me that it is one of the most beautiful places in the world.
That was a wonderful trip down memory lane for me. As a child I spent many happy family holidays there. Back in the mid 70’s I was blown away by the little chapel, told my mum I was going to get married there one day. Oh the innocents of childhood. Great video of this beautiful island. Thank you. 😊
Before I was posted there with work, I hadn't even heard of the place. 8 best years of my life, fell in love with the place, my kids were born there also and it was simply the most perfect, super safe, healthy environment for them in those early years. Sad when we had to live but we return annually to revisit the places we love. Ohhh and I do miss l'escargo at the Petit Bistro.
This brings back mixed memories. I visited Guernsey frequently Christmases and summers during the 25 years I was with my ex, as his family live there. I never went to the Little Chapel, as the family said only tourists go there! I liked seeing the ormer shells used, as they are a mollusc - and seafood - only found around the Channel Islands in the UK, which are something like an abalone. If not cooked properly, it can feel like trying to chew a car tyre! That said, eating seafood in Guernsey is a must if you like it. The chancres (spider crabs) are delicious. The quality is excellent. If buying it to cook yourself, there’s a good place near the Cup and Saucer. Hauteville House is well worth a visit. Victor Hugo made some of the furniture from other pieces of furniture, so there are some curiosities, not least the desk where he wrote standing up. The views from the top are great. If you are wanting to go to beaches, as Guernsey is shaped like triangle, depending on the wind direction, you can always find a sheltered beach. In the summers we would sail to the coves and to Herm and Sark. If staying on the island for longer than a weekend a boat trip to those islands is worth it. Your pronunciation of some of the place names are interesting. I’m not surprised as they are an odd mix of English and semi-French but with zero consistency. The same applies to the French or old Guernsey surnames. I love your videos. Always interesting and informative.
Awww, what a shame you never visited the Little Chapel. I've been many times and I ain't no tourist! If you ever come to Guernsey again, do go, it's enchanting!
Sarah, thank you for sharing your memories of the Island. We were so sad that Hauteville House was closed, it would have been right up our street! Still that is an excellent excuse to visit again and to explore further afield. If you watch regularly my pronunciation is usually pretty mixed up. I try to research the right names, and watch other videos but you never know if they say it right either! Haha. I was never good a languages at school. I should have tried harder! Lovely to hear from you. All the best.
I feel like I'm on holiday when I go on these tours with you guys! I like how you describe the breakfast and the various beverages available. Yes..I am binge watching all these wonderful journeys so thanx so much for all your work!
I've had the pleasure of visiting Guernsey, Sark, Herm, Alderney and Jersey and I enjoyed it immensely and the good thing about it you have no need for a car whatsoever
I sure we went a plane just like that in 1995! We went to Jersey but after seeing Guernsey, I wish we had gone there!🙃Thanks again for taking us with you!

So impressed - what weather, what sites, such culture and historical & natural delights! I've been to Jersey a few times, but always, mistakenly, thought Guernsey would be too small - but it's BEAUTIFUL! Especially with such gorgeous weather. Didn't see any Guernsey cows or ice cream - just driving around the Channel Islands isn't for the faint hearted & as you suggest, the bus could be the way to go. Hope you get to return when everything is open once more.

I have family in Guernsey so go there regularly, it's possibly my favourite place in the world! Great video, you've captured the island's beauty and attractions brilliantly! Swimming in the sea is a must for me. Hiring an electric bike is a great way to get around. I'd also recommend a day trip to Herm or Sark (or camping overnight). If you don't want to spend time on a boat them walk over to Lihou when the tidal causeway is clear. If you're thinking of holidaying there, do it! 🇬🇬🇬🇬🌞🌞
This is a wonderful video, you really captured the essence of Guernsey and why its such a popular place place to live! Hopefully this will encourage many more to visit the island as I believe it does not get the attention it deserves. Thanks so much! P.s. Petite Bot is actually pronounced Pety Bow, and the loophole tower you showcase there has actually been converted into a holiday home with a hatch in the roof that functions as a balcony. It is very compact, probably similar to staying in a camping van, but might be a fun stay for a night or 2 🇬🇬
Morning dear people, amazing video and interesting. I enjoyed the lovely breakfast you had, nice and healthy🙂. Also the journey in the car is a delight to watch. Thank you and bless you.
Another excellent informative tour.I did visit here over 50 years ago!!I remember visiting Gerald Durrell's Zoo,is it still there? Lovely island, definitely should be on your bucket list!Thank you again, such a pleasure to watch your well thought out videos.
I really enjoy your channel. My dream is to spend a year in Britain, touring it and the Channel Islands, with a popover by the train to France, or two.
Another stunning video. Again such a professionally narrated vlog. UK has so much to see and do. Looks like very warm weather there for this time of the year. I would love to visit the Channel islands. They look like little versions of mainland UK. Did you see all the familiar chain shops like Tesco? Would love to see a vlog on the Scilly Islands off the coast of Cornwall. Loved the "posh cheese on toast"!! Great seeing what types of meals you cook/eat on the go, especially since I really miss the Brit meals. Thank you..us expats are so grateful.
Hi Gill, we visited in mid August so was pretty hot, I think it was about 28c over that weekend. So lucky! Can't say we saw a Tesco but they certainly had Marks and Spencer and Co-op! 😊
Once again thank you. =-) I look forward to your vlogs as I will never get to the Northern Hemisphere and it's great to see what otherwise I would miss out on. Take care. =-)
Once again, THank You Simon and Will!!! I'm now thinking, wouldn't it just be better to move to the UK for a period of time and just take trips? Guernsey is outrageously gorgeous!!

It is very compact, probably similar to staying in a camping van, but might be a fun stay for a night or 2 🇬🇬
Hello thank you for sharing your thoughts and corrections on pronouncing. What a cool place to spend a night! Good to know thank you!
Una perla la più bella d'Europa!
Very accurate illustration of the site, thank you
You're very welcome
Informative and pleasing to the eye video !
Lots of natural beauty on a tiny island
Beautiful Island. Not visited myself yet but been considering it.
Worth it for sure if you can get a decent flight price.
I‘m binge watching your videos here today in foggy Bavaria. That blue sea…! I do like Autumn, but it’s so cold! Lol
It's pretty grey here in London today, not a day to try and do any filming so its head down in editing this afternoon! Enjoy the binge watching!

Well done, once again a marvellous vlog.
Plz make a detailed vlog on Downton abbey.
It is on the list!
Great little video, I don't think you could squeeze much more into a weekend, very lucky to catch a hill climb too :-)
It was a tight squeeze! Ah it was a hill climb was it. We were not sure.
Love to go there one day, its amazing
You should!
Morning dear people, amazing video and interesting. I enjoyed the lovely breakfast you had, nice and healthy🙂. Also the journey in the car is a delight to watch. Thank you and bless you.
Thank you, it was a lovely breakfast, makes me feel hungry thinking about it! ☺
What a great video guys, thank you for sharing. Guernsey is somewhere we would look at visiting now after watching this video 😊
Another excellent informative tour.I did visit here over 50 years ago!!I remember visiting Gerald Durrell's Zoo,is it still there? Lovely island, definitely should be on your bucket list!Thank you again, such a pleasure to watch your well thought out videos.
You'll find the zoo on Guernsey sister island Jersey, the islands and their attractions are easily confused - some advice from a Guernsey local
I really enjoy your channel. My dream is to spend a year in Britain, touring it and the Channel Islands, with a popover by the train to France, or two.
We hope you make that happen. You cannot beat a real life experience. Thank you for watching.
Stunning and fascinating video, I really enjoyed everything, thank you so much ❤
Lovely to hear thanks! 😊

Thx for the 🎥. Although it's more than 45min flight from my place of living, I find this film very interesting.
Once again thank you. =-) I look forward to your vlogs as I will never get to the Northern Hemisphere and it's great to see what otherwise I would miss out on. Take care. =-)
You are welcome, thank you for watching!
Thanks for this. Very helpful!
Our pleasure
I enjoyed the visit through your camera. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching
@@MemorySeekers You are welcome.
Never made it to guernsey and hope to in the coming years.
Well worth it, such a super place.
Once again, THank You Simon and Will!!! I'm now thinking, wouldn't it just be better to move to the UK for a period of time and just take trips? Guernsey is outrageously gorgeous!!
It really is gorgeous, and it might indeed be cost effective to spend an extended period here if you can.
