You make Moroccans proud!! And what you are basically saying is just to ignore the western left!! Love that!

Wow, this is awesome! Thank you Marie Kawthar Daouda for this admirable invitation to return to the fundamental quest for the True, the Beautiful and the Good, which lies at the heart of the West's deepest and most authentic tradition.

But it’s really saddens that European societies fell so low that it needs to be rescued from itself…

The "colonialism" accusation is a con job. Take away all the intellectual language and it is reduced to what street wise people would call laying on a guilt trip. Then ask for money and or power to fix it.
Despite Marie Kawthar Daouda excellent refutation, many of her peers will still need to quench their addition to vengeance and need someone to pay for their own disgust in humanity. It's really the world owes me and you're gonna pay! destructive attitude towards life.

Should be a reminder not more not to do the same mistakes on and on.
Its only one of more -symptoms - of a starting -failed system again and again in history At what degree of in humanity we call greed 🤑greed ?

Nah, it was human development. Didn't IT reach every nook and corner of this world and wreacked havoc in communities, people, culture, finances. Literally every facet.
Back then man learned to travel and brought everything with him, good, bad and ugly.

I think this is a good corrective, but that doesn't mean we should absolve the trail of wreckage that coloialism has left

Then don’t absolve. Who cares? There’s so much evil in the world now that should be opposed now. The mechanisms of history, slavery, colonialism etc., please nobody. They have been going on forever. How many slaves are there in Africa, in The Middle East today? Not thousands, millions!

      Chain of wreckage?
      Britain modernised the World.
Doubled life expectancy. Quadrupled wealth and living standards.
      Stamped out backward cultural practices.

Australia, New Zealand and Canada were colonised by the Europeans far earlier than Africa and South-East Asia and look how better those countries are in terms of their economies and standard of living. I went to Algeria and young women I met want to get out and move to France or Quebec. The FLN demonstrated themselves to be incompetent administrators after 1962 (as seen through the nationalization of the wine industry which caused the last European winemakers to leave) and started another war by shutting down the Sufi brotherhoods in favour of radical Salafism. To absolve blame of the FLN and other middle-class anti-colonialist movements for the disastrous impacts that they had on their countries is a testament to the immaturity of Western discourse.

Records from early exp[lorers shows very few people in places like africa, a BIG land mass and very few people, who had no idea of minerals, etc, NO steel NO wheel, so why do we owe them anything. We raised their levels in all areas, health, education l;ife expectancy etc.they owe us.
