    As far as I know and if we look only at the diet part, vegan can mean Coke & fries, so not necessarily heathy, while plant-based & whole foods plant-based are vegan diets (no animal products) but highly focused on healthy plant-based foods that are consumed in their less processed version, while keeping all the nutrients in. No person is perfect, some occasionally eat honey or foods that contain small quantities of milk/cheese / eggs (for example a croissant), but I would keep those people still in these categories since they are already doing a lot for a better world.

    Awesome breakdown of the different paths. I teeter between being fully whole-foods plant based which is my ideal, and then some months we're def just plant-based vegans lol. But very soon Lord's will, I really want to just be completely always whole-foods plant based so we can truly eliminate all processed stuff like cheese or the occasional mock meat.

    Great breakdown. I been having peeps say it's the same and I knew it was not. I been mostly WFPB for approximately 2 months. Definitely, going to the restroom more & feeling better. I'm doing it due to fibromyalgia and to improve my health in general. Definitely still eat meat but it's like once a week, twice tops, as I'm phasing out of eating meat.
    Wanted to see what is your shopping list, and staples within your WFPB life style. Definitely, going to binge watch your recipes and other vids as I'm still learning about this lifestyle as I look to make it permanent. Thanks for the breakdown vid.

    I am from Switzerland and strangely, all my vegan friends here are actually plant based. They are all quite informed both about ethics and about healthy nutrition, and they are all eating healthy, unprocessed food for the animals and for their own health. I have yet to encounter a single unhealthy vegan described here, who is binging on highly processed unheathy vegan food...

    • @ChoosingMyHealth
      @ChoosingMyHealth  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Gaia! Switzerland?! Amazing! I’ve often heard that Switzerland is considered one of the healthiest countries in the world! You’re blessed. That makes total sense that you’re surrounded by so many who embrace both ethical and health values.
      As I mentioned, not all vegans are unhealthy. In fact, many transition because they want to live healthier lives! As a health coach, however, I’ve seen many people think strategically packaged foods are healthy, because they are marked “vegan”. I was a vegan but still followed a Standard American Diet, just without meat and dairy. Not healthy.
      Thank you for adding to the conversation! Wishing you the best of health!

    Nice explanation of things here. Your diet/lifestyle sure have given you glowing health and enhanced your intelligence. The animals are the #1 issue, or at least should be. Animal growing farms and slaughterhouses?! My God, it's hard to believe people everywhere are still engaging in all that, but the medical industry heartily approve$. I'm a healthy combo of vegan and WFPB, everything in moderation, and my health vastly improved from when I was vegetarian or mostly so or a meat/egg/dairy eater; 75 pounds lighter too, but not skinny. It's probably more doable for most people to be a combo of vegan and WFPB, and to just call it "vegan health nut," haha.

    Also, whole food-plant based excludes meat, dairy and eggs. I'm not sure that was mentioned but it's not like 'plant based' where people apparently will eat meat, dairy or eggs, at least some. I'm whole food-plant based and did it so I wouldn't need a statin which is a drug used to lower cholesterol. My cholesterol was high at 210 mg/dl (over 200) and then it dropped to ideal (125 mg/dl). I live alone and that helped me greatly in the switchover, so I wouldn't have banned foods in the household.
    By the way, my weight became normal and stayed normal and this is 5 years from when I switched. Also, my blood pressure is normal now after coming off blood pressure med with doctor supervision.
    Avoiding the banned foods is a big part and I am totally satisfied by the healthy foods I chose. It took a bit of time to get the very best foods and I eat them every single day. It took me months to a year to be fully satisfied with the foods. I become far less famished than I did when I was eating the super rich processed foods, meats and dairy. I get hungry but it's not overwhelming. I overeat sometimes but far less than on standard diet.
