    One of my major challenges is meal prep. We’re a family of 5, 3 little boys. And I get very overwhelmed with trying to plan and meal prep good food that doesn’t take forever to prep or cook. I would love a video on this!

    I love your optimism, I was plant based for a hot minute about 3 years ago. I have been dealing with some inflammation issues and have a list of chronic issues. I stared trying to follow an anti inflammatory diet, which has lead me to contemplate giving plant based diet a chance again. My issue is my meat eating husband and dad and the thought of having to cook 2 different meals when I cook. Now let's be real, I am a full time employee with long hours and I am tired all the time, the thought of extra work is making me have a headache 🙃 😅 😴. I will continue to follow you and hopefully we can eventually do the transition as a family.

      I can totally understand. Little by little, right? Do your best, and only what you can without being spread thin. Maybe one plant based family meal a week- and then move up as time and strength allow? Praying you find the best solution and that you heal! ❤️

    Can I just say that this video gave me so much hope when I was feeling very discouraged? Thank you SO much for sharing, it has given me so much encouragement! I've been fasting (and praying) a meal a day for my husband because I've learned that WFPB could help his health. I'm transitioning our family, making a few vegetarian or vegan meals a week, and now I have such a better attitude about this, thank you for your tips and suggestions about a positive attitude, it's really helped my communication with my husband about food. Thank you again, God bless you and your growing family!

    I love this video! I am transitioning to plant based and trying to get my husband and 2 boys to transition as well. After being diagnosed with interstitial cystitis last year, my doctor recommended becoming Plant Based to be able to keep mu health issues under control. I have started transitioning slowly and it has been hard, especially since I don’t cook and I am a cheese lover. But your video has inspired me to try a new way of approach to this new lifestyle I want for my self and my family. Thank you so much and Congratulations on your pregnancy. Many Blessings to you and your family.

    • @ChoosingMyHealth

      Thank you Cindy! Congrats on your new transition! Yes- the beginning is a little challenging, but remember this: progress over perfection matters most. So don’t give up even if you slip up. A good suggestion is to meal plan as best as possible, and take it in strides. If you can only do plant based 2 days a week, that’s still HUGE, until you can get a better groove. Also, check out this video for extra inspiration: th-cam.com/video/a1a5tcg1gsI/w-d-xo.html

I've tried vegetarian eating before but never succeeded in maintaining it for long. I love this information because I'm the only vegan in my household. My 9 year old daughter is transitioning, my 3 year old toddler is... a toddler! She barely eats anything and when she does it's...well...crap! Now my husband is at stage one. He is not even receptive to the notion of veganism😳.
    I encourage my girls as much as possible. I encourage my husband too but now I'm going to start being his ally in this journey towards a plant based lifestyle 😉.

Sometimes he did indeed but he never seemed like really enjoying it. So I thought okay, maybe that´ s it, he will never get rid off his health issues and I settled In the mindset “I m not responsible for his health” Your video helped me to change my mindset and now I believe it k s doable, it ´ll just také some TIME. I also have to cook meet for my husband. Hard cooking two meals. We are empty nesters, just us. I think maybe a week challenge of raw veggies would be a good restart for me. What do you think? Yay! Thanks for all this positivity so needed it right now. Husband and I let go of meats 5 years ago and are plant based vegan 4 years now, but are now trying to let go of the processed vegan foods as we see that they are not beneficial to us. Letting go of the chips and French fries have been the biggest challenges right now. Talk about celebrating we are about to be at 1 week no French fries or chips! It just dawned at me and I will make sure to tell him how proud I am of him staying strong. Husband still has strong cravings for cheese after all these years but he is staying strong. Any suggestions to kick those cravings for good? Thanks again and yes I would like to see more videos about plant based pregnancy and transitioning children to plant based diet.

    • @ChoosingMyHealth
      @ChoosingMyHealth  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Congrats @D Egypt! So proud of you both! It’s definitely a process, but you all are doing amazing! Keep at it. The processed foods take time to completely eliminate, but baby steps, little by little does the trick. As for your husband, maybe you can find a plant based cheese recipe he really likes- or a store bought cheese alternative to carry him over on those really “bad craving” days. Here’s a recipe to consider: choosingmyhealth.com/55347/plantbasednachocheese/

    • @ChoosingMyHealth
      @ChoosingMyHealth  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Welcome Marijana! Absolutely!
      Vegans: they do not eat foods derived from animal products (allows for processed foods).
      Plant-Based: a plant-based diet consists of mostly or entirely plant-based foods. So food mainly from plants.
      Plant-Based Vegan: abstains from animal products AND eats foods mostly or entirely from plants (a merge of the 2).

      @@ChoosingMyHealth I hear your words, but I'm not getting it 😁 In my mind, being plant-based and vegan is the same thing.
      So, please, clarify: what vegans DO eat and you don't? Tofu, seitan, tempeh? Chips? Chocolate?

    • @ChoosingMyHealth
      @ChoosingMyHealth  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No worries hun! Think of it this way:
      Vegans do eat tofu, rice, avocados...(any food that doesn’t come from an animal). So do most plant based munchers. However, some vegans may also eat processed foods like Oreos/ foods that have chemicals and additives. For example, I ate tons of white bread and canned veggie meat with preservatives when I was a vegan, and didn’t know any better.
      The plant based lifestyle however tries to refrain from processed food to mainly eat food from plants. So they wouldn’t do Oreos/foods with chemicals and additives.
      I go into more depth on my website: choosingmyhealth.com
      Hope this helps!

I'm not inviting any of them along, although if they ask of course I will share. But they just will not stop hassling me about it. The jokes are getting old. Do you have any advice on getting them off my back and just getting them to let me do me?

      Hi Molly! You’re amazing mama! You must have seen my screen because I’m working on a video now with tangible ways to get your family on board (or at least understanding your perspective). So look out for that. Keep doing you, and stay resilient. It’s only a matter of time until they realize you’re sticking to your guns. At any rate, you owe this to yourself. And who knows? Your family might decide to join you on the challenge when you least expect. Keep going, regardless. Cheering you on 💕

      @@ChoosingMyHealth Oh yay! I can't wait. I am definitely NOT encouraging anyone in my house to join me. It would backfire. But just trying to live by example, offer a taste here and there, and let them decide on their own.

    What’s the difference between vegan and plant based? I thought they were the same thing.

      Hey Maggie! My next video (releasing in a week) will go into depth about this! Be on the lookout for it! But in short, a vegan diet is a meat-free diet. A plant-based diet is centered on plants.

      Hey Andre!
      Hope this helps! 😊
