I bought the R3 like 2 days ago. Got my gear yesterday and did the first real ride on it today. Amazing stuff. All the fear for riding on the road first time, all the stress and the rush of adrenaline felt so good. I am still smiling and in high spirits. Have to get used to rev matching and going in the corners and quickturns, cuz I was going in the very wide turn angle.
you were very smart to start on a 300. Keep it for an everyday commuter especially if you live in a urban area. Not many places to ride a super sport in a city. But know this as soon as you are used to it you are def going to want to upgrade a lot sooner than you think. Goodluck bro and dont out grow it too quick, there is a lot to learn.
i just started a few months ago on an mt-07 and i gotta say, its a wonderful starting bike, it teaches you throttle control right from the first time you get on it, very responsive, can wheelie but you have to be trying to. i taught myself how to ride on it and im already disappointed in the top speed lol. but super fun to ride around town and curvy roads, very quick to get up and go.
I have a '17 R3 in pearl white with florescent orange wheels. Bikes like this are great to start on. Also, If she only has 600 miles on it, be gentle. She's still in a break-in period. I believe until about 1k miles. Might even be ready for a oil change- a break in change to remove metal shavings from the factory. So don't rev her out too crazy. R3 is a great bike to learn and refine skills. She's beautiful. Congrats and good luck, boss.
you’re supposed to do oil change and stuff on 1k miles. First 1k miles dont rev past 7,200rpms after 1k it’s like 8k i think idk can’t remember lol its in the manual
I've had my R3 for 2 years now and I still love it. So much fun getting to use 100% of the power and it handles great on twisty roads. Enjoy and stay safe brother!
Congrats on the new bike! R3 is an awesome bike. Don't sweat the stalling. We've all been there, lol. If you don't mind a tip to help with the stalling: Get your RPM's up before letting the clutch out into the friction zone and then all the way out. This also helps with slow speed maneuvers as you can let the clutch in and out through the friction zone while keeping your RPM's constant. You don't have to worry about rolling the throttle until you get rolling with the clutch all the way out. You just hold the RPM's and listen to the sound of the engine. It'll sound high but as you let the clutch out, it will start to drop. Just keep holding those RPM's. As you try it out, you may need more or less RPM's initially depending on your bike but I believe the R3 was around 4-5K when I rode it. Light turns green, roll the throttle until RPM's hit 4-5K (adjust to what you feel is comfortable) and slowly let the clutch out and hold it in the friction zone until you're rolling. Pull it back in if you're going too fast.
i think this is my last sign i needed. got my gear (helmet, boots, gloves) and my permit. was waiting on a few more paychecks so i could have a big down payment but i might just go grab it. i have good credit and im young so why not
It's good to have a long term small Japanese beater. I see people upgrade quick then stop riding all together within a year or 2 max. Dont be disheartened by the stalling bro! Everyone goes through it!

Congrats man. I ride 100cc bike few years ago and bought a Ninja 250 in 2022. I stalled alot though for the first few weeks. After few months, you will become one with the bike. I sold my ninja 250 last year and bought mt/fz 07 for the torque 😂. Didnt faced any problem adjusting with the high torque power, but I do apply "defensive riding" for safety sake. Save ride and have fun bro
Congrats man and be safe. My buddy also just bought a 23 R3 and beens learning how to ride. Take it slow and learn at your own pace. Hope to see more videos man!
Fantastic video, reminds me of myself when i started. Pro tip: Don't let go of the clutch until youre out of an intersection / began moving pretty steady, only then let it all the way out, dropping your clutch too fast isnt something you want to do. Shifting smoothly will come with time, no way around it.
Couple tricks, when your taking off slowly hit ur gas so you don’t stall, and I would upgrade the clutch and brake levers aftermarket ones tend to move the friction zone so I makes it more efficient and comfortable.
Excellent choice! I've had 4 bikes and I almost bought the R3 as my 5th. You just can't go wrong for an entry level bike. It also is good on the track because of how light it is. And you can still do 110mph which is very respectable!
Welcome to bike life bro💪 I’d suggest getting a keyless gas cap!!! You’ll bend your key if you keep trying to open it with it being that hard to unlock. Learned from experience.
I dont ride but I think your decision to start on a R3 over a r6 or an r1 is very smart. I also love the vibes from the video definitely subbing, keep it up!
Nice! Good for you. Much prefer a 2 cylinder over a 1 cylinder for this size bike. Some guys can beat 600's on the track with these bikes. I like watching new riders figure out riding. Practice first in parking lots. Also slow maneuvering is very important to learn. I wouldn't mod it except maybe a bright color wrap so cars can see you better. Otherwise just ride the heck of it. And don't be embarrassed! We all make mistakes. Plus with a helmet nobody is going to recognize you. Just chill and be safe.
don't be afraid of shifting man, its more if you dangerous dont shift. Def dont sleep on learning to shift because it will make riding so much smoother
2:21 don’t just let the clutch go when you start rolling, remember to slowing release it the whole way. This will help your starts improve. I noticed you did get better as video went on 👍. But just keep that in mind when at a stoplight and maybe you’re a bit nervous, just slowly release clutch and you’ll be fine.

Decent riding man, for you starting from a stop in first gear it’s easier to let out your clutch smoothly instead of the little dump at the end, it’ll help make your takeoffs smoother
Great stuff man! To help from stalling from a start. Try to give it a 1/8th turn on the throttle as you ease out the clutch. It will help the rpm go up and should help with the stall.💪💪

You gotta practice clutch control alooooot to get over the stalling part when you memorize where your friction zone is on your motorcycle it'll be easier to know how quickly you can let off the clutch and apply gas at the same time
Best decision is to start on a used small bike. It’s already pre-dropped, so when you forget to put the kickstand down and drop it, you won’t cry. No you are not going to keep that bike forever. You’ll get better. The most important thing is proper braking and lane positioning. Do you know how to drive a manual car. If you know how to drive a manual car, riding a motorcycle would be easier to learn.
Definitely wrap it I have the same bike My gear and helmet is black and red and at night it is hard for drivers to see me Also change the exhaust you need people to hear you coming especially in nyc it also enhances the performance of the bike Congrats and ride safe

Another tip, don’t ride in the middle of the road that’s a danger zone from the liquids from cars ride on either left or right side of the lane. But good job time for a r6
Get the showa or olins suspension and ecu flash after you know what exhaust you will run with open airbox mod so your airfilter passes more thru it eventually it will be the best track bike you could ask for

Nice bro! My first bike was also an r3, got it last year and im sure you'll love it! If you're like me tho you'll be wanting a 600 before long :) Im planning on getting a 636 hopefully.
Definitely practice shifting cuz it will protect your bike in the long run also drive safe fam and wait until you get more comfortable with youre bike and driving style, Meaning dont do wheelies , also stalling is normal as a beginner biker so embrace it and learn from it, see you soon and ride safe lil bro
Keep it up man, just learn how to shift gear! And you should practice getting familaf with your clutch friction zone, so what j would do is to just stay on 1st gear and find your friction zone do it for 10 mins. Close the clutch lever open it till you hit the Friction and close it and open it again do it until u get bored
Congratulations man! I'm in the same area and have been wanting to get my first bike too. I've ridden the revel mopeds a lot of times so I'm curious about how it compares lol.
Also if riding a bike is anything like driving a manual car, the reason you're stalling is you're not giving enough power. You can move off with clutch only but you have to stay in the bite point longer before you completely disengage the clutch or else it will stall.
you're spare key may not work because its not chipped the bike might not recognize the key at all. I would recommend going to maybe a Canadian tire or a another shop that does chipped keys as dealership charge wayyyyyy too much.Anyway great vid ride safe!!
I started on a 600 in 2005 bought my gsxr 2008 600 still have it first owner. Took off riding for 4 years now I’m in the market for a second bike bmws1000rr or r1 for new riders I would start out on a 600 you will regret getting a smaller bike down the road trying to resell it.
Lol i had the opposite issue with my first bike, i could turn it on with the key no issues, but it was a massive fiddle the gas cap open. Had to just unlock it and then take the whole cap off, and but a new one, with a new key lol Edit: I got my bike just a few days ago, went fir my first ride yesterday, rid all day. I quickly decided, it's best atleast early on, mainly when filtering to the front of traffic, to just stay next to cars, closer to the centre line, then if you stall you can just tell them to go, and with no pressure. Unlike a car, you stall, you stop everyone, you get more pressure, you stall again, you feel more pressure, you get out the car and walk into the lane next and lay down... you know
Hey im also a new rider! But if you having problems stalling too much you should watch a video on adjusting the clutch so the friction zone is more comfortable for you!! Idk if you have tried yet! It helped me

Nice bro! My first bike was also an r3, got it last year and im sure you'll love it! If you're like me tho you'll be wanting a 600 before long :) Im planning on getting a 636 hopefully.
parabéns pela conquista irmão, pretendo pegar a minha no próximo ano. desejo todo o sucesso para você 🎉🚀💙
9:06 So you can restart the bike straight into gear one????
WATCHING THIS VIDEO IS MAKING ME HAPPY
Learning isn’t embarrassing
The regret you get from not trying is embarrassing
Definitely practice shifting cuz it will protect your bike in the long run also drive safe fam and wait until you get more comfortable with youre bike and driving style, Meaning dont do wheelies , also stalling is normal as a beginner biker so embrace it and learn from it, see you soon and ride safe lil bro
Congrats bro enjoy it!
Congrats to your new bike! Try to give it a little throttle when you let go the clutch on the 1st gear.
Im about to pick up an r3 this week, excited!
Congrats brother! enjoy it!
Happy for you dude!
Subbed up. Love watching new riders and how fast they learn. Nice bike dude
welcome to the R3 brotherhood 👊 i have 25k miles on my 2020. gearing up to sell it and buy a R7
Thank you & Good luck in your future endeavors brother🫡
you're spare key may not work because its not chipped the bike might not recognize the key at all. I would recommend going to maybe a Canadian tire or a another shop that does chipped keys as dealership charge wayyyyyy too much.Anyway great vid ride safe!!
Welcome to the family
W ride my boy cant wait to get my own bike!
You’re actually building my confidence. I’m so scared to ride
if youre scared to do it, then do it scared!!
Lol i had the opposite issue with my first bike, i could turn it on with the key no issues, but it was a massive fiddle the gas cap open. Had to just unlock it and then take the whole cap off, and but a new one, with a new key lol
Edit: I got my bike just a few days ago, went fir my first ride yesterday, rid all day. I quickly decided, it's best atleast early on, mainly when filtering to the front of traffic, to just stay next to cars, closer to the centre line, then if you stall you can just tell them to go, and with no pressure. Unlike a car, you stall, you stop everyone, you get more pressure, you stall again, you feel more pressure, you get out the car and walk into the lane next and lay down... you know
Yo so when you get off from a start , try to give it more gas, but release the clutch about same speed
oooo shes prettttyyyyyyyy i love it im new here and so happy to be joining your chanel
As a new rider I can't wait to do this with others
Hey im also a new rider! But if you having problems stalling too much you should watch a video on adjusting the clutch so the friction zone is more comfortable for you!! Idk if you have tried yet! It helped me
Thanks! I’ll give it a try when I order new levers
Yes and no, you can play with it slightly but too much can cause clutch drag or clutch slip.
Bro I wish I had the confidence to lane split in front of a car and then stall the bike. I'm sure you're much better now!
haha yeah thats crazy right, i dont stall much at all any more tho
stalling at the light right after cutting in front of him LOL. too real man stay safe out there!
Ik buddy was maddd💀
Add a lot of throttle as you start out on a manual and go less and less each time once you get more used to it. Thats my no stall method haha
