It is a good way to go. It is a cheap upgrade and can make then handle good power. Alot of people go overboard building for 1000+ hp and only making 600 not that being over built is a bad idea it's just not needed and you can save money.
@@socleanmx6lol I was just reminiscing yesterday bout a probe gt I was in love with lol. I'm 33 so I guess it was the Era, never learned much about em
I had the Truetrac for about 1000 miles. The driveline/gear shop wanted it back at 1000 to check that everything was ok seal-wise. It's been a bit clunky sounding since I got it and from what I understood that was pretty normal with the model that goes into the 31 spline axles with the 3 worm gears instead of the 33 spline 4 worm gear GT500 version. Something about the play in the carrier was the reasoning. When I took it back, I took it for a ride with them since they had told me it should have a few and that it was normal, but upon the ride with me, they decided it was TOO loud and something was up. We opted to put a clutch based differential back in and I picked it back up yesterday. It honestly feels a little grippier with the clutch based packs, but I'm going to miss the smoothness of the Eaton and how cool the idea of the worm gears and a gear based diff is. I'm also running 4.10s and enjoy them quite a bit more than the 3.55s I had previously. Although, now I'm wishing I had the T56 Magnum XL for the 6th gear for slightly better highway driving and fuel economy. Eh, that's for later.
I’ve got nearly the identical setup except I have Howard rattler cams , gt500 twin 60mm throttle body and a zex nozzle kit. Everything else is the same 4.10’s ford racing manifold jlt cai, steeda underdrives, same shifter but stock drive shaft. I’m trying to run 10’s. So far I’ve ran an 11.26 on a 125 shot. And on a 150 shot I can run side by side with a fbo e85 10r80 car. I got a 19 gt pp1 10 speed almost two years ago and kinda pushed the 3v to the side but I just got it back out the other day. I had the same thing happen on 2 plugs. It leaned out slightly due to too much boost, too little fuel. I checked the pistons with a borescope and there weren't any pieces of metal in the cylinders (must have vaporized the plug tips) so I installed new plugs and it was good to go.
Yep haha that’s exactly what I did. I drove it home after the track, about 70 miles. The next day I swapped the plugs and it still ran the same, even got oil on the same plugs. Time for a tear down

good shit man, I just recently got myself a 05 GT and am slowly working on modding it to perfection, definitely gonna check back to your channel time to time for some inspo!
I agree hpipe sounds better so many people go x they don't sound bad but hpipe sounds better imo. My 07 gt500 has a gen3r with arh long tubes catless h and borla stingers it Is a badass exhaust setup I'm an hpipe guy all the way
@midnight347 nothing wrong with an xpipe these 3vs aren't naturally raspy like the 5.0s, the problem is these losers run a no cat xpipe with a muffler delete making them sound trash & raspy, a perfect setup would be a catted xpipe with a good catback or axelbacks. But can't go wrong with a catless h pipe no doubt sounds way better imo
The h pipe sounds worse than the x pipe on the 3vs. I have bbk longtubes to a bbk x pipe with a ford racing exhaust. I have yet to hear a better setup and only met one other person with the ford racing exhaust it’s a better version of a borla stinger
Great video. i've seen a few others lose the ground straps on plugs. I've changed plugs probably 4 times on my boosted 3v and never had a ground strap break. Any regrets with the trutrac? I think that is next for me because my clutch packs are about done.
I love the tru trac. Took about a week for it to learn some of the corners I take, there was a specific right hand turn I took where it skipped a little but after a week of breaking it in, it drove perfectly
Wow this is a really cool build! I'm so jealous! I totally wanna do this build to my 3v except I wanna set it up as supercharged build since I'm already running a Paxton. How much did it cost for everything? Anyway, howdy from Western WA and love your videos.
Very nice bro! I got a 06 S197, I’m trying to build on it too, these videos are super helpful! Also what type of wheels do you run? They look excellent on these types of mustangs but I can’t find the name.😅
You need to make sure you run cold enough plugs. We ran 93/110 mix with a aem 340 pump with a sbe 3v spraying a 250 and it lived 11.1 on a draggy on the street. That was a tuned, headers, Cai 4.10 5 spd car. Absolute shit box and no the tune wasn't for nitrous
