For me the difference was POE was excited to tell you as much as possible and they ran out of time, D4 panicing over what they are "allowed" to tell us and cut it short because they ran out approved topics.
@@azaraphiel1698I remember d4 folks arguing that since d4 is new,it can't possibly compete with a ten year old game in terms of content. And now hear yourself. Its funny actually what you would excuse for the inexcusable
@azaraphiel1698 they didn't just speak about a patch. Its not even the middle of the season yet, and they're already talking about next season. I'm a huge Diablo4 fan but those guys are really out of touch with their audience
Raxx I’m a console dad and Marine aviator in his mid-50’s that’s played D1-D4 and loved all of it. My daughters now play with me and we have a great time couch co-oping together or linking up online with the ones in college when they have down time from school. You are the very first content creator I discovered when D4 came out and thoroughly enjoy your presentation, intelligence, and care for the community. Now, whenever I want to try something in D4 my daughters ask me, “Well what does Raxx say about it?”. Allthat said, POE2 looks like exactly what the doctor ordered for me! I cannot wait to dive into this with you in the lead man! Thanks for everything Raxx.
Starting @6:15 you mention if we, the audience, would like a separate video about "everything I know about Path of Exile". The answer is yes, yes we would love that Raxx.
a big thing too is that there is now an ingame wiki that you can access by hovering over underlined text in tooltips... this pops up a box explaining in detail every single mechanic in the game
Yeah these quality of life things are huge for new players without making the game overly easy. It's nice to just gain an understanding of mechanics in the game.
I bet they took it from Undecember. Undecember has a huge "wiki" in game. It shows what support gems work with your skills. They also have videos showing what the skills do and how they look. And another section that tells you everything about the game and it's mechanics.
One HUGE thing that a creator showed off that SOMEHOW wasn't mentioned during the livestream is every single keyword in the game within the character interface will give you a complete rundown of the related mechanic within the game. "Block , Attack , Projectile , Chaos Resistance" to name a few that gives you all the information on how a mechanic works, its functionality, stats, and how it interacts with other related things. Amazing for new and veterans alike
Yeah very cool. You can also seemingly pin several tooltips to the screen for an overview. It is covered in Empyriangaming's video about 10 things I like/look forward to in PoE2.
@@Deminese2You're right. I totally forgot about the skill gem previews. They are a nice touch if you havent spent 1000s of hours in the game yet and want to mess around with new (active) skills.
@@TemplarX2 What old school vibe are you talking about, this is clearly a new-gen arpg, they're trying to make the combat and boss fights actually enjoyable
I can't wait to watch your guides. I remember back in the day when grinding D3 and inhaling your content to make life easier and afterwards jumping in your stream to ask even more questions. I really hope it's gonna be like that.
Just started poe1 and only at act 7 of the story but this game already has me glued to it.i image poe 2 is gonna be one of my most played games of all time

@@kinganthony6912 I loved sunder jugg, I also fell in love with Righteous Fury. That might be too passive for you though, the slayer spin to win build is also fantastic and classic.
@ saw that slayer build which I will definitely play in the Future but I already played so much whirlwind barb in Diablo games I’m gonna hold off on playing it
Early access starts on december 6th. The game WILL be free on release for those who dont know. The 30$ pack not only contains beta access but also mtx shop currency worth 30$ btw
What you said about D4 was so true. Once I got the build I liked I didn't even want to do anything with it. Been playing POE recently and it has been really fun learning the game. Definitely a steep learning curve. The depth of build creation and sometimes having to just work with the sockets and skills you can is really engaging even during the levelling process. It has me hooked lol
The character selection screen has to be the best version I’ve seen in any game. Just a small detail but it’s great. They all hang apart from the one you pick
I got the chills the first time I saw it on announcement. So much emotions in that one scene. It feels like you had a hand in the death of all other characters apart from the one you picked.
I’m truly impressed by what GGG is planning to deliver. I've been a loyal Diablo player since D2 and briefly checked out PoE1. But what PoE2 is aiming to offer its player base is absolutely phenomenal, and I currently find myself converted from Blizzard to GGG. You can really sense the passion for the game and the genre from the folks at GGG, much like what I noticed with the developers of LE.
My whole childhood was Diablo 2,spend probably 8 years on that game. Then 1600 hours on D3,and about 2k hours on PoE. When D4 released i was excited, played it for about 300 hours, but i didnt even bothered to buy the expansion,i'm done with Blizzard. PoE 2 makes me excited and giddy like a 15 year old kid again. Also, fuck loyality, just play whatever you enjoy. No shame in trying out D4 for some hours, the only thing that matters is your own fun.
A major thing about the passive tree is also that they removed health from it. A lot of new players forgot to take health nodes or had no idea how many they needed.
there is a leak from dreamcore who played 2 weeks ago in a test, that they have added a couple of life nodes on the tree around the warrior (strengh) part of the tree, but there is not allot and they are verry small increments (elledgidly 3% per node in a cluster of 4 with 1 nodeable)
Really? I hadn't heard this. I love this change. It means the passive tree is much more about power - which makes it much easier to use. The biggest issue in POE 1 trees is not knowing how to balance power vs defence in the tree,
Agree with D4 end game comments. Finished the campaign and season in a few days. Even got a mythic with 3 GAs. I didn't even try to push the Pit after getting the gear because level 1 and 150 are the same.
Yes, same here. I was around 180 paragon, build complete...everything from then was doing the same thing over and over, but the real problem is, improved loot wasn't dropping. This is D4s biggest problem, the loot hits a brick wall far too early, and ancestrals and GAs are far too rare once they do start dropping. It doesn't matter how much end game content D4 adds, if they don't improve their loot progression, it'll always feel pointless too early.
@@stateazure To be fair, POE 1 also goes through the same problem, perhaps even earlier than Diablo 4 because the market is much more active, but there is the possibility of getting items by buying them from other players or crafting them yourself. If you stop to learn, it becomes trivial to get past this barrier, but even so, in POE 2 they made a point of making this barrier even smoother, and this is beautiful.
Raxx you mention you might make a video explaining everything you know about poe2. Please do it. As a new player your info is much appreciated. You are a legend in the arpg community and your videos and knowledge are unmatched.
I cant express how much i like GGG for not putting in the cheap solution in terms of difficulties. Its so easy to just put "easy - medium - hard etc etc". By having the whole game at the same base difficulty it feels more unified. When someone talks about a campaign boss, everyone is immediately on the same page and can offer advice and so on. Instead of just simply scale the difficulty down to the point where you cannot fail. It just gives the game more meaning to me.
they did that for couple of years in PoE1 until they added 6 more acts. Also the monster difficulty is roughly the same in those 3 difficulties vs acts 1-10. In PoE2 early access, they added CRUEL difficulty after act 3 to fill the gap. So after act 3, you will go back to act 1-3 cruel mode. Then the endgame. When the game is released, they will remove cruel and put in act 4-5-6 then endgame
Poe 2 will be MUCH more streamlined than 1 it's very approachable in almost every facet now. They put life on items instead of the skill tree so pick a skill, get the damage it corresponds with on the tree and boom you have a build
A nice thing that they didn't show on the livestream is that when you hover over nodes on the passive tree, you can hold shift and it will open a tooltip that shows you what a certain node will do to your character and skills.
im seriously looking forward to POE2 i just cant wrap my head around the systems in POE1 i need to be in the game to learn videos help but its just not the way i learn, also starting from zero with everyone and watching others learn along me will be a huge morale boost for me
I’m super hyped about getting into poe2. I’ve spent about 700 hours playing poe and i think i’m just a bit too late for starting this dive. Never even reached the ubers, but i see the enormous potential of both these games to be my all-time favs. Definitely playing the hell out of poe2.

Yo Raxx! Gargoylz here. We can’t WAIT for this release! Playing the early access is going to be amazing! From the pre-release videos and information, this looks to be an elevated D4. It appears to be launching with a good amount of gameplay and variety. It is going to be FUN!
A few years ago I was a hardcore believer of "D3 > POE" and every time I tried I just gave up in campaign. It wasn't until my brother literally walked with me through the campaign to finally hit maps/endgame did it really shine to me that D3 had nothing close to POE. POE's endgame is what makes it an amazing game honestly, so I feel bad for all the new people that give up before they can really see how amazing it is. POE2 will be even better.
I had a friend who said he played POE but said it was too easy. I later found out he only played Acts 1 to 3, didn't even freaking touch act 4 or endgame. Like wtf? POE is really great, I spent hundreds of hours in that game, even tho I don't really play games at all, especially "diablo-like" games.
PoE's biggest problem is the game has gotten too big to have a meaningful tutorial anymore. This makes it harder for new players to get the gist of the game.
@@minibeefcake You don't need to understand everything about the game. Even vets don't necessarily know everything. For example, when they first introduced metacrafting, most people didn't know you could craft suffix cannot change + scour, and it would clear prefixes. The top crafting groups back then knew and used it to make items for much cheaper than was assumed possible, and sold or offered mirror services at insane profit. They would actively hide information, how mechanics interact, etc. That's part of poe. Metacrafting was introduced like a decade ago, that's how long ago this incident was. Being able to know everything was never really a thing in poe. You thought you knew everything but there's almost always something you don't that others knew. But you don't have to be if you're not trying to be competitive. You can go through poe without knowing whatever top strats and still have a good time. If you spend the time to learn stuff though, you are usually rewarded. Even today, many people just buy everything on trade that they could craft at a small fraction of the trade price. You either spend the time grinding longer to buy stuff at a premium or you spend the time reading and learning. You get to choose how you want to use the time. Poe has always had a lot of depth and is a time sink. I don't see it as a problem. If they make it too easy to grasp like d3/d4, then there really is no depth anyway. That's the worse problem to have. If people want a streamlined game like d4 or d3, they can just play d4 or d3. It's a different type of game, targeting a different demographic.
I've played POE, beat the campaign and had no clue how to even access maps, or where to get them. I stopped playing even tho it seems like a great game.
Been a Diablo fan since 2001 with Diablo 2 LOD. The build diversity looks astonishing in POE2. It makes D4 look like a 3 year olds toy the way skills work and how everyone is forced to use the same builds, it's so linear. Everyone uses the same gear, everyone uses the same weapons, the same gems. Will definitely be trying this game.
Casuals make it seem that way Mr. Content creator makes a build and says it does 300 gorillion damage and make the game a breeze Casuals use it because they only care about 'beating' the game as fast as possible There's much more build diversity outside of Spiritborn - Druid alone has 6 different builds at lvl 100+ pit which should be the true measuring stick of a good build Still it won't come close to PoE2s diversity though, it's inheriting a lot from PoE1 and it's approach to classes is far looser than D4 You can use any weapon on any class and Ascendancies just refine what you can do, which can force you to use, say just 2H swords
@@PrimalDirectiveMeanwhile poe1 has like thousands of Builds that can to all the content and a excelent itemisation and emdgame…. D4 meanwhile just necromancer can wield a shield lol…. In POE you can make like 30 different versions of just shield throw lol…
last epoch makes d4 look like a school project, my brother. but all you need to see is who's responsible for making d4. dei activists. check out camp fires. its a snooze fest filled with people who cant even play the game.
Hey raxx been using your guides for d4 and poe for a while now... would love to see the thought process or things to look out for, or even just general concepts to pay attention to when making a build. Love all the work you put into helping to the arpg communities can't wait to see what you do for poe 2. ❤
Something great to know about the endgame in po2. is that each of the endgame trees get points for that tree speceficly by doing that content. to make a d4 comparison, you do helltide you get points for the helltide tree, you do nightmare dungeon you get nightmare dungeon tree points. And because of that, you dont have a pool of points that you need to decide which tree to use them in.
That was my biggest gripe with PoE1. You constantly had to respec to put points in any other game mechanics when you get bored of the current one. Usually only enough points to go 100% in 2 mechanics, that's it.
rax i usually never comment on youtube videos (lurker) but i just wanna thank you from beign just a real amazing content creator theirs no bs in your game. As a first timer for POE 2 only played poe 1 for like 2 hours and closed it off when i saw the skill tree i am very much looking forward to your straight to the point videos.
Happy for you that you found a new game to go deep into - can really relate here GGG overdelivered and made me realize how fortunate we are to play such an amazing game.
Looking forward to your PoE2 content (as well as any other content from you about games you like). Guess we’re all waiting for Dec 6th now let’s gooooo!
I really enjoyed D4 S6 despite the poor overall reception. I've also tried POE 1 at least 5 times in the past and was never able to stick with it. It's not the complexity that turned me off, but frustration with the gem system and gear socket/colors. I see that POE 2 fixes my main gripes and I'm bound and determined to give it a fair shake on December 6th. I for one am excited to try it and what they've shown is pretty incredible.
Glad to hear you are giving PoE 2 a shot. The newest season has mechanics to help you get currency early on and you can easily change colors of sockets etc. Obviously poe2 fixes this better, but if you have time give it another shot
@@billjohnson6863 Don't be a condescending elitist. It's obviously not about matching colours, or even the concept that gets people frustrated, it's the practicality. It's having to get the correct number of colors and links, multiple times across multiple items. Think about it, it's easy if you know alternate gems to use, tricks to force colors and the best times to upgrade items. But most people are following a guide, trying to absorb a ton of information and time-constrained. If we want to play intellectual gatekeepers, then thinking it could be a case of "skill is red so you need a red socket" highlights your poor critical thinking skills.
also would love to see the follow up video you mentioned, and love to see the commitment verbalised letting us know what we can expect. Looking forward to all the guides and info
Also gold is not tradable, but gold is required to trade, which should discourage bots as they will have to regularly play on each and every account they want to trade on.
Hey basically want u to byu from the ingame traders made by them ! They said already it’s getting constant updated so u get good items from it ! Not like in D4 where I completey ignore the shops because they are trash
@@mvmniko it would appear its similar to POE1 where the standard town traders are mainly for fixing holes in your levelling gear, but you will get the expedition traders where endgame items are very possible, still most top end trading is always player to player as the best chase items only drop from ingame bosses. Also looks like crafting is a lot more accessible, especiailly for crafting mid-tier items - so all you really need is a good base item.
the best thing about the end game mechanics being separate on the atlas skill tree is it means we'll feel more inclined to engage with each and every mechanic to get the skill up points for their respective area. In POE1, you have to go through a whole respacing process to engage optimally with a different end game mechanic which doesn't feel fun.
I don't understand why everyone uses Diablo IV as a reference. They're two completely different games. Since Diablo III, POE has been entirely distinct. For me, the only similarity is the dark fantasy theme and the ARPG genre; otherwise, they're two very different types of ARPG. Anyway, amazing video! I'm super hyped for POE2!
Super hyped for Poe2 , I have 4500h in Poe1 , 1500h in D3,500h in D4, about 2000h in D2. I've been playing on and off Poe1 since 2012 , took a few years off from 2015 to 2017 ,since then I've been playing almost every league. Even as a super bad player poe it's been my favorite arpg,I've only killed Maven last year and only got my first HH and MG 1 league ago For me D3-D4 were a 14-20-30h turn brain off and do big dmg , gear well and done The thing I'm super excited about is the bosses , they look amazing and I love the more souls like dodge, learn movement ,mechanics
The Atlas is an amazing port/twist on delve, I was wondering yesterday where is delve, and realized its the atlas. Super cool stuff. I haven't been this excited for a game in a long time, have 6k hours in POE1 cant wait for 6k and more in POE2.
That ending there inspired the fuck out of me. It made me want to dig in and better commit to seeing my own dreams through to fruition. It also solidified my respect for this content creator. He absolute means what he says and does what he says he gonna do. I could gush on, but... just thank you dude! I really appreciate your integrity, generosity, thoughtfulness and passion.
I does have the visual effects, but it lacks everything else, skill twig is a joke, builds are lackluster, you don't have much room to think about it. On the other hand too much customization can be bad too, I don't like how in PoE2 you can use all skills with every class, I prefer it to be restricted, same with PoE 1 and why I never liked it. Personally the perfect ARPG to me is one that doesn't exist and is a mix between poe and diablo.
@AndreyGP Yeah but I feel like the visual effects that D4 have aren't as Vivid and all over the place like POE2 has displayed here. I know it's not meta but I often try to build classes on D4 with the most booming visual effects in screen. Maybe I'm the weird one out lol but I love seeing my screen splash with effects that glow and look cool.
@@AndreyGPD4 only has the cutscenes. The visual effects in the game are terrible. Looking at a side by side comparison of D4 and PoE2 is night and day, PoE2 everything looks crisp and vivid, D4 is just bland and desaturated.
POE2 looks good, but let's be honest. There's a lot of POE1 here and none of it is revolutionary or genre defining. It's more refining what they have already done.
@@Juggernaut76 i would say it gathers and enhances most of the mechanics from other ARPG games, including PoE1. Endagame map for instance looks very similar to what Last Epoch has. Sockets socketing via corruption - from Project Diablo 2, etc
Raxx! Please make a guide that describes: How to go about making your own build in PoE/PoE2. Describing the thought process and optimal order of operations for crafting your own build. Bonus points if you describe how to identify what is wrong with your build after it’s crafted and you’ve played it, and how to go about fixing those holes. Love the content. ❤
I'm not Raxx, but a PoE1 veteran with 14k hours under my belt. I hope I can be of some help. I'm not the crazy build creator guy that gets sponsored by Maxroll, but I have deep game knowledge and didn't have to use a guide for almost 10 years now. But don't ask me about support or bow builds. Every build in PoE1, and afaik D4 also, basically works the same way. The only thing that is really different between those two is that you can use any skill with any class in PoE, so the class and ascendancy are yet another choice, whereas ascendancy dictates which class you have to take and the class dictates where you'll start in the passive tree. With that knowledge, the passive tree will be far less intimidating than it might look to newcomers (spell build? why bother with the melee and ranged attack portions of the passive tree...). Similar to D4, PoE1 operates with skill tags like physical, projectile, attack or spell etc. So you have a basic idea what will work with certain skills. With that knowledge it really boils down to maximizing your damage, utility, defenses and mobility. Of course there are build enabling uniques and/or items that change certain playstyles, but I wouldn't recommend such builds to newcomers because of the simple reason that you most likely won't have said item. I would still recommend a build guide for newcomers. With the addition to actually understand what the creator has to say. Blindly following a guide and not understanding it is the first step to learn nothing. Following a certain melee guide and truly understanding it will help you with future melee builds. That's basically where the "you need a PhD in gaming for PoE" meme stems from. I can't give you a perfect formula, but I have a checklist in my mind when a new skill gets implemented or I want to go off the meta rails. Most of it already got mentioned and stays true for most ARPGs out there: 1) what does the skill do 2) what should the build do - general purpose - boss farming - map clearing, i.e. AoE farming 3) general problems to be solved - damage - defense - utility - mobility 4) what class/ascendancy - is it obvious why? why not? --> see 1 to 3 5) get a rudimentary passive tree going 6) all done and the build is fully operational? - trim the fat and optimize That's...actually it. There isn't a most optimal way for the passive tree, especially when doing your own thing. That simply requires experience, knowledge and a bunch of iterations. I play since 2013 and to this day, I don't plan with more than the level 80 equivalent number of passive points and or only with the most important notables and keystones (specific passive nodes that either do more than normal, called small, passives or change certain behaviour big time (example: Resolute Technique - Your attacks always hit. Deal no crits). I have some leeway and can react to 3). With what we currently know about PoE2, my little checklist should still do just fine. You most likely won't find the next meta defining build, but have a solid foundation to not completely brick your first character, at least I hope so. "Just" have a healthy mix of everything under 3), have your resistances capped, keep your items sort of updated during levelling and you should be good to go. The more complex stuff comes later.
Like your attitude regarding supporter packs. I have spent almost 2k$ on Poe 1 and purchased the top tier supporter pack yesterday during the announcement stream. They deserve being supported and I cannot wait till December 6. I will go all in in Poe 2…
The devs deserve it with how well they handle their games. Cant believe my 2k+ hours in poe1 could have happened with only like 30 bucks in tabs. Thankfully ive spent around 1500 though, cuz they deserve the support for how much content and enjoyment theyve given me
I put probably 1k hours in the game without buying anything for a few years when I started. I genuinely wanted to just give them money for currency map and stash tabs because the game is just THAT good
@@Gimpo925 Sure, but it turns a lot of us away with it's old feeling combat and gem system(needing perfect gem slots). PoE2 is what they needed to pull in even more casual fans like me.
@@dvdgnz1 if you choose to let your combat feel old, that's on you in PoE, and you don't "need" perfect gem slots unless you're running end game maps, plus there's multiple currencies to augment gem slots
@@dvdgnz1 The thing with poe is that there soooo many mobs on the screen. I love the difficulty curve of POE, I also love the fact that post campaign every death is punished with xp loss. It makes those choices mean something. Plus by the time you hit endgame you have a powerful build. Where in d3 you used to hit endgame and would hit like a wet noodle. I think GGG just really killed it in the game design department and is doing such a great job. I left the livestream feeling like that is an amazingly done game and I am going to have hundreds of hours in the early access, and we wont even have the full thing yet with 3 more acts coming. I also love the fact that they wanted us to play the whole game during early access so they just repackaged the first 3 acts so we had something to play while running towards endgame.
One small thing to add: I really like the preview videos now, how the skills work when you hover with your mouse on skill. And there Are way more explanations for the different stats and mechanics with better tooltips.
i like how they explain mostly things every poe player know , but every new player should know to start the game , good to see they are not focusing on the veterans ,but want to bring many new people to try and enjoy the new game that is coming out.
Diablo 4 is a game made by people who have a job who create a product. They do so for profit. PoE 2 is a game made by ultra dedicated gamers who have a vision because they've thoroughly enjoyed a game about 25 years ago. They do so for the experiences.
All studios do it for a profit or they wouldn't be able to continue. Don't forget GGG is fully owned by Tencent, it's not like they are some solo small indie dev.
@@Juggs_WoWdon’t shit talk and forget they were their own small dev team that do care about their game. Been playing since 1.1 and will continue to play.

Fantastic Video. I think a Cool idea would be to make a video aimed at someone who has never touched PoE and has little to no experience with AMMROPG I know I have a few friends that are looking to try PoE 2 for the first time, that would love a simple guide to the game. Another cool video might be one where You individually go through the different changes since PoE 1 and explain how we should be playing PoE differently. With the changes to different orbs (Or their removal all together) in mind. Either way, Love your stuff.
Your absolutely right, Raxx. Time for players to stop giving their cash to companies who create garbage, and dont listen to players, arent players themselves and have no clue how to make a good game. Stop giving money to corporate giants who pocket the cast majority of it and give it to their shareholders and upoer management. And instead, give it to the companies who create games for players by players. Companies who reinvest into their products and dont cut corners. Companies who will make our investments worth it. This is how we change the market.
This will never happen cuz idiots will always be around. I tried to explain this to my discord server not singling out d4 but stressing that as gamers we have to stop buying and defend g inferior products and all I got was hate for it. It’s like the allegory if the cave. If you threaten a man’s reality he may very well kill you for showing him the truth
I love the last part about you blasting and learning this game and becoming a grand master. Look forward to seeing what you do with PoE2 man, thanks for the vid as always
Oh, one point about the Atlas Passive trees - it's not OR, it's AND, when talking about points for the different trees. The whole point of separating them is that you don't have to choose between mechanics - you just do the mechanics more, and get points to spend in that particular tree. The "general" Atlas Passive Tree is fairly small and covers basic, universal things unrelated to the major mechanics, like just adding more monsters, shrines, strongboxes, etc. I think you understood, but the way it came out might give the wrong idea. Just wanna throw that out there for anyone that might be confused.
@@seriousmike5649 That statement is such a stupid hyperbole, the same could be said vice versa. PoE 2 and D4 have different target audiences, one focuses casual players that like it easy the other one focuses the hardcore grinders.
I can’t wait to see your guides on this! I’ve played Diablo since the original D2, and I’ve had friends try to convince me to play this game. After watching the live stream, I’m really excited to start playing this game!
Thnx for the upcoming videos. I saw a frost sentinel video for POE1 that filled the whole screen. I got hooked viewing this destruction and wanted to try this game. I followed a minion build that was solar sentinels (i think?) and zombies. Loved the game, played all the acts, wonderful game play & graphics, sound effects, all awesome. Got to the end world tier thingy, died very fast as soon as I arrived....lost absolute interest and stopped cold turkey. Never went back and never played the seasons. Looking forward to reuniting. Will play minion first because I'm a casual lazy dad player.
Like a lot of AAA developers Blizzard have been embarassing themselves for a decade now. These top end developers are too controlled by marketing suits and corporate overlords. They've lost the passion for simply making great games above all else.
Grinding gear knows why they are doing this. To make great games. Blizzard forgot why they make games. To them it’s just more numbers on a spreadsheet.
I always watch you periodically when i return to an ARPG. Its incredible what an asset you are to this community and I hope you never change. These guides that you make are incredible and honestly alot of work. So thank you.
Thank you for not scripting this and reading from a teleprompter like all of these other content creators love to do; it's extremely cringe and sounds fake and inauthentic. You, my friend, are just talking to us (perhaps with talk points on your screen for flow) Love that style and I'm glad you're holding that torch! Keeping things real in the sea of BS on this platform.
In Path of Exile, you don’t necessarily need to strictly follow a build guide. The fun lies in exploring and creating your own build. While your build may not be optimal at first, you can gradually improve it by understanding the underlying mechanics and logic from build guides. Over time, this understanding will allow you to enhance your build independently, without needing to follow every step precisely.
Going in blind without knowledge and without build guide will be a horrific experience of being butchered by every single mob. That's the quickest way for 99% of players to never come back.
@@Habib_Osman yeah, PoE 1 it's not well desinged for the average player, but some PoE 1 players cant see that for their lives, they swear that you just loggin and start playing and soon you will be farming T16 maps without a sweat
@@mickiekatsuragi2690 No, we all definitely do understand that. At least the reasonable ones do. PoE1 was never designed for the "average" player. The game directors have explicitly stated this. This game will very much be the same. It will be difficult and will require a great deal of learning to become even averagely powerful.
@@mickiekatsuragi2690 The act 1 rework made the submerged passage extremely dangerous. A new player reaches that in 10 minutes and they will be in for a rude awakening. Freezes, huge slows, body blocks, self destructing mobs.. its lethal! and I've played POE for at least 5 years.
isnt it also pathetic that diablo is a 25 year old franchise with unlimited resources but D4 is just a prettier looking worse version of last epoch? imma remind people that D4 development had like 9k devs throughout entire process of making the game. its like . too many cooks in 1 kitchen. one took a shit on a plate, second one took a piss on that plate with D2 carvings, 3rd cook seasoned it and the last cook poured a beef gravy.
Something that I feel like people are not talking about is how they actually give you the freedom to change them attributes according to what you need. Like holy the amount of hours I have spent re-arranging to min-max them God bless GGG
Blizzard DO NOT understand what the players want. WE WANT FUN MECHANICS. Not some stupid opals or realmwalker mechanics. That stupid frog headhunt power from Season 7 looks so pathetic and boring. Why couldn't they do something like, when casting tornado, you also proc lightning bolts? Or if casting landslide, you spawn a spirit bear that deals pulverize for 10 seconds or something? Necro minions still have horrible AI. Barbarians for the past 3 seasons needed to rely on Twisters to deal damage, but this damage is not from their core skills. The butchers axe is still rubbish. The axe for shred druid is still boring. Since when a diablo game had STEALTH? The stats of some items are just plain illogical. And there are very similar playstyle in almost all classes that there is no originality. Case in point : Quill Volley Spiritborn / Barrage Rogue / Firebolt Sorc (with 3 projectlies aspect)/ Chain Lightning Sorc. Boulder Druid / Ball Lightning Sorc, Bone Spirit Necro / Hurricane Druid. Dance of Knives Rogue / Razor Wings / Boulder Druid / Whirlwind Barb. Werenado / Whirlwind Barb.
They have no talented developers anymore or real gamers that care, only good artwork and sculpture and animation designers… but even they didnt manage to make more then 50 different monsters in whole game… POE 2 has more Bosses then d4 has monster types…
@@Imperius12 Honestly I dont get this stuff about devs from blizz being shit, I can almost guarantee you those people go 'ayo i have these 2 different fun mechanics that interact with the game in a crazy way' only for the suits to butcher the mechanics into a fraction of what it is to maximize profits.

Rax you're a blessing for ARPG players in every game you play, so happy to have you for PoE 2, looking forward to those paint sessions and explanations :D.
I'm excited to see your future guides on poe2. I've played since Synthesis league, but don't put in as many hours as some people do. I'll follow build guides and crafting guides. One thing that would be great is, for every build guide you make, have a crafting guide for the gear that char will need, at all the different stages. That's something poe 1 build guides don't always do, or they skimp on it and don't tell you how to improvise well. Since there's a lot of RNG in crafting, there's a way to evaluate how good your current item is and crafting guides don't really give a tier list of mods to look for, so if you're running out of currency, what could you settle for in terms of mods. Explaining theory also really helps for beginners to grow as well, like why choose one skill node over another, (same for skill/support gems).
Hello Raxx, you are great content creator and I am really happy that you will transition to PoE 2. You are the very first content creator I discovered when D4 came out and thoroughly enjoy your presentation, intelligence, and care for the community. a big thing too is that there is now an ingame wiki that you can access by hovering over underlined text in tooltips... this pops up a box explaining in detail every single mechanic in the game
@@antonego9581 they added recommended builds section too which is something I’m excited to try. I hope melee doesn’t punish you like in Poe
Yeah these quality of life things are huge for new players without making the game overly easy. It's nice to just gain an understanding of mechanics in the game.
You know the devs play their game when they think like a player, huge respect to GGG
I bet they took it from Undecember. Undecember has a huge "wiki" in game. It shows what support gems work with your skills. They also have videos showing what the skills do and how they look. And another section that tells you everything about the game and it's mechanics.
Sorry but is this confirmed? Its a huge feature if is actually real

I'm in the same boat
I hated dying in poe1 so would consider the scion hp nodes almost madatory, you felt punished until v v late game for not taking them
Oh wow, I didn't know that. That is an S tier decision.
there is a leak from dreamcore who played 2 weeks ago in a test, that they have added a couple of life nodes on the tree around the warrior (strengh) part of the tree, but there is not allot and they are verry small increments (elledgidly 3% per node in a cluster of 4 with 1 nodeable)
Yes and made it far more common and potent on gear in return, great change IMO.
Exactly. It gets old reeeeally really fast. I can't imagine putting as many hours in D4 as Raxx has done. Like how? Why?
Yes, same here. I was around 180 paragon, build complete...everything from then was doing the same thing over and over, but the real problem is, improved loot wasn't dropping. This is D4s biggest problem, the loot hits a brick wall far too early, and ancestrals and GAs are far too rare once they do start dropping. It doesn't matter how much end game content D4 adds, if they don't improve their loot progression, it'll always feel pointless too early.
@@gumzsterBecause he was having fun ?
@@Touchin-Grass Or you know...making money
@@stateazure To be fair, POE 1 also goes through the same problem, perhaps even earlier than Diablo 4 because the market is much more active, but there is the possibility of getting items by buying them from other players or crafting them yourself. If you stop to learn, it becomes trivial to get past this barrier, but even so, in POE 2 they made a point of making this barrier even smoother, and this is beautiful.
Really felt like Xmas as a kid watching the livestream yesterday. Can't wait
The Dark Souls effect.
they did that for couple of years in PoE1 until they added 6 more acts.

10 acts is just introduce of the game, when you reach to map, that is when POE really start.
Casuals make it seem that way
Mr. Content creator makes a build and says it does 300 gorillion damage and make the game a breeze
Casuals use it because they only care about 'beating' the game as fast as possible
There's much more build diversity outside of Spiritborn - Druid alone has 6 different builds at lvl 100+ pit which should be the true measuring stick of a good build
Still it won't come close to PoE2s diversity though, it's inheriting a lot from PoE1 and it's approach to classes is far looser than D4
You can use any weapon on any class and Ascendancies just refine what you can do, which can force you to use, say just 2H swords
@@PrimalDirectiveMeanwhile poe1 has like thousands of Builds that can to all the content and a excelent itemisation and emdgame….

You won't regret it.
I never understood the issue people had with socket colors. Is it really that hard to understand that your skill is red so you need a red socket?
@@billjohnson6863 Don't be a condescending elitist. It's obviously not about matching colours, or even the concept that gets people frustrated, it's the practicality. It's having to get the correct number of colors and links, multiple times across multiple items. Think about it, it's easy if you know alternate gems to use, tricks to force colors and the best times to upgrade items. But most people are following a guide, trying to absorb a ton of information and time-constrained. If we want to play intellectual gatekeepers, then thinking it could be a case of "skill is red so you need a red socket" highlights your poor critical thinking skills.

More grinding needed to do common things tends to favor bots with no sense of tedium. It would stop the most simple bots i imagine though
Gold is required to use the currency market, it is not required in any way for normal trading.
@@TheSlinkerDog true but that was the main area bots dominated trading
Last time I felt this excited was Halo: Reach Beta
the best thing about the end game mechanics being separate on the atlas skill tree is it means we'll feel more inclined to engage with each and every mechanic to get the skill up points for their respective area. In POE1, you have to go through a whole respacing process to engage optimally with a different end game mechanic which doesn't feel fun.
I don't understand why everyone uses Diablo IV as a reference. They're two completely different games. Since Diablo III, POE has been entirely distinct.
@@AndreyGPyou can make your build using only the skills for your class, you have to check a box to look at the others
@@roadrash2005 I know you can, but it'll not be optimal and I know I'll be playing a bad build, which I don't like too.
POE2 is redefining the genre again. It IS the future of ARPGs and sets the standard.
POE2 looks good, but let's be honest. There's a lot of POE1 here and none of it is revolutionary or genre defining. It's more refining what they have already done.
@@Juggernaut76 Point is it's been iterated on and improved
@@Juggernaut76 i would say it gathers and enhances most of the mechanics from other ARPG games, including PoE1. Endagame map for instance looks very similar to what Last Epoch has. Sockets socketing via corruption - from Project Diablo 2, etc
@@j.d.3890Agreed. I thought about LE right away when maps were shown.
The fact that it really didn't look that good to me makes me think I must not like the genre that much.
Most of it already got mentioned and stays true for most ARPGs out there:
1) what does the skill do
2) what should the build do
- general purpose
- boss farming
- map clearing, i.e. AoE farming
3) general problems to be solved
- damage
- defense
- utility
- mobility
4) what class/ascendancy
- is it obvious why? why not? --> see 1 to 3
5) get a rudimentary passive tree going
6) all done and the build is fully operational?
- trim the fat and optimize
That's...actually it.
Great content again, thank you Raxx! Looking forward to watching your numerous POE 2 guides, for I will definitely need all the assistance.
Thankfully ive spent around 1500 though, cuz they deserve the support for how much content and enjoyment theyve given me
@@taylon5200same here, I asked support and they told me $2100 was my spend. I could see myself spending another $2100 on the sequel!
I put probably 1k hours in the game without buying anything for a few years when I started. I genuinely wanted to just give them money for currency map and stash tabs because the game is just THAT good
POE2 will be the new Bar for Arpg’s
@@Jdiroe Poe is still THE BAR all these years later. D4 reached for it and was very short.
@DarkTooniverse nah, it's on the engine. Feels like a game from 2005. You're wading through paper enemies. PoE2 will fix that.
18:29 They also added rax to the game .d
Had the same thoughts after 12:29 😄
damn...i can see the fire in your eyes! you made the promise to be one of the best in POE2...can't wait to see it happening!
One small thing to add:
I really like the preview videos now, how the skills work when you hover with your mouse on skill.

I think a Cool idea would be to make a video aimed at someone who has never touched PoE and has little to no experience with AMMROPG
I know I have a few friends that are looking to try PoE 2 for the first time, that would love a simple guide to the game.

Those players are weak bitches who will always be around to throw money at terrible companies. Its sad.

It's good to see Raxx genuinely excited about a game for once.
I'll be 100% honest, after seeing the big Poe2 content, I don't think I will touch D4 season 7 at all.
It’s allready uninstalled lol
D4 will be ok when they have leaderboards and something similar to greater rift quality in d3
@@mladdplayGames theres no compelling reason to sink time in D4 when PoE2 exists unless you are a steamer or you don’t work

Wow POE2 makes Diablo 4 look like it was made by kindergarteners, Blizzard should be very embarrassed
Like a lot of AAA developers Blizzard have been embarassing themselves for a decade now. These top end developers are too controlled by marketing suits and corporate overlords. They've lost the passion for simply making great games above all else.

Over time, this understanding will allow you to enhance your build independently, without needing to follow every step precisely.
people dont have time for that, thats why diablo 4 has so many players, the barrier and time requirement for it it's too much
Going in blind without knowledge and without build guide will be a horrific experience of being butchered by every single mob.
Isnt it pathetic how D4 has less overall monster types then POE2 has Bosses lol?
GGG we love you… keep up the good work you are the GOATS …
isnt it also pathetic that diablo is a 25 year old franchise with unlimited resources but D4 is just a prettier looking worse version of last epoch? imma remind people that D4 development had like 9k devs throughout entire process of making the game. its like . too many cooks in 1 kitchen. one took a shit on a plate, second one took a piss on that plate with D2 carvings, 3rd cook seasoned it and the last cook poured a beef gravy.

So i should switch from Diablo? Cause Diablo IV kinda boring me not gonna lie

You have a Lady Maria avatar, so you should know this already.
You literally can play both with how shallow D4 endgame is. Play enough till you get bored of the D4 season, then just transition to this afterwards.
@@DeathComeInPeace Gotta explain whatever you mean by that
I got bored half way through act 2...
They have no talented developers anymore or real gamers that care, only good artwork and sculpture and animation designers… but even they didnt manage to make more then 50 different monsters in whole game…
POE 2 has more Bosses then d4 has monster types…
@@Imperius12 Honestly I dont get this stuff about devs from blizz being shit, I can almost guarantee you those people go 'ayo i have these 2 different fun mechanics that interact with the game in a crazy way' only for the suits to butcher the mechanics into a fraction of what it is to maximize profits.

Incredible video, Raxx... very well done!
Your videos inspire me Rax, and so does Path of Exile content in any form. Is this my ascendency?
Haven't watched you since mid to early d3 days. Nice seeing you again! Hyped for PoE2!
