Very clear and helpful for new players. Next vid I'd suggest getting into buffs and debuffs in depth. If nothing else, mention that you can modify/augment your current (best) flask. 😊
MASSIVE TIP AT 14:20 At the bottom unchecked "Show Recommended Gems" this will show ALL gems. Just be sure to check that it's compatible! Massive massive game changer please like so others see this.
This is the most in-depth guide I've seen of this nature. Just ignore the hate comments bro, there's a lot more people who need this than they realize. I did learn a couple things in fact. Like I didn't know about the dual skill tree.
Where those hate comments at g? I see nothing but thankfulness and respect personally. Great video for anyone looking for a good first step or some general explanations. 🎉
I'm interested because I've never played one of these types of games and am considering buying PoE2 Early Access. I'm hearing a lot of good things, but most of it comes from people who already enjoy this genre and have an understanding of the game. This video gave me more understanding of the game and has made me more interested.
I'm happy to see one of my absolute favorite TH-camrs making a guide for this game! Your D2 raid guides are legendary sir.. glad you're enjoying this game
Great video friend, great guide, loved it. Important note for new players: if you press Alt you can lookup any of the underlined words anywhere in the game, and you can lookup all the words on the definitions that pop up as well. Alt is a super easy "tell me more" button. As someone who first tried POE this week it's crucial. Easy to use single button for knowing as much as you want about the mechanical details, interactions, etc, as much as you want.
One good tip you forgot to mention is when you are choosing a new support gem, you can uncheck the small tick in the lower left corner that says "show recommended gems" and you can see all the support gems the chosen skill can equip instead of just the 9 recommended ones. Also I think DEX does not increase evasion, only accuracy. And evasion does not work on all attacks, on only works on strikes and projectiles. Wall of fire for example is neither and cannot be evaded. And accuracy also works on both melee and ranged attacks, not just ranged as you implied.
As a new player coming to PoE and not experiencing the first game at all, i very much appreciate the ingame knowledge you presented me with today. Keep up the good work and have a nice 1
instances reset after 8-15 minutes, so make sure you don't stay in town for too long or your portal will disappear, and you'll have to re-explore the map.
@2gunzup07 Do quick town runs, and if you're going to go AFK for several minutes, go back into the zone you're exploring before you pause your game (unless you're in a party)
@@2gunzup07 if you're playing solo, bringing up the ESC menu or passive skill tree pauses the game. If you're in a party, just stay in an area of the map that's already been cleared, and you won't need to worry about dying. Also if you're in a party, as long as one member stays in the map instance, you can be in town for as long as you want without the map resetting.
Enjoyed this a lot. As a first time player this guide served as a great "I'm actually playing this game correctly" confirmation. When I play games that are this indepth, I usually find myself wondering if I'm missing something or not playing it correctly. Thankfully, I was doing everything you cover in this video. Yippee! 😂
I love that they took the most convoluted rpg system in the dungeon crawler sphere and made it even deeper, while cleaning up some of the pain points. Very nice updates for the new game.
A big tip if you need to farm say the end of Act 1, you can go to the Waypoint in town, open the overworld map and Control+Click the waypoint to reset the instance. Control + Click also opens a vendors main skill like auto identify and selling.
Love the vods. Remember Charms, potions, anything white can become magic. So upgrade your charms and potions as needed. Also at way points hit Y on controller and you go straight to town without having to find it
Just want to say thx for explaining skills, I saw 2 other videos that did not explain it as good as you did. I really needed help with this and I get it now. Much appreciated best of luck to you.
Loved this video. Bought the early access last night for xbox and am so excited to play. Have main menu pulled up ready to play but yet I watched this whole video 😂 great content
I've seen a lot and this was by far the BEST staree guide I've seen. You explained a lot that others simply assume people will know. Had no idea that there was a spirit meter and energy shield meter. Like i sae them but had no idea what they were. I've been playing for hours and have progressed to level 28 not knowing much of the basic mechanics you explained. Appreciate it
Thank you. Wasn’t going to play because of how overwhelming it looked, started last night and because of the video I enjoyed it and understood everything
Barely got into this game but i love it,the mercenary really is the punisher, put a flame skill onto my crossbow with multiple shots and all of a sudden it went from a crossbow to being the dragons breath from COD
Thank you for this video man. I'm a new player, and I accidentally clicked on "skip tutorial" button in the main menu, which is irreversible. This video covered a lot of points for me!
This is a great intro video. I jave actually sent it to friends that have not played the previous version of the game to get them somewhat started. My only addition would be to always bear in mind that the words used in PoE2 matter. For example: "Increased" is different than "more" or "extra". The effectiveness of gear, skills and passives can vary drastically based on the use of one term over another.
Love the vid! Just wanted to mention, it is actually possible to insert runes into gear while it's equipped. It's pretty picky however and you have to line the rune up with the socket very carefully before clicking.
Fantastic job! It didn’t really teach me anything because I have consumed a good bit of content on this, but, had I not, this is a great spoiler-free beginner video!
ive seen my room mate playing this recently and am a little bit intrigued/want to try. This video is a solid game play to help anyone understand the nuances, especially me. im using an fps gamer but grew up playing mu, command and conquer and diablo to say the least. Thankyou for an awesome video, might get stuck into it soon!
Thanks dude I just got it and lowkey overwhelmed by the amount of stuff since I don’t typically play ARPGs but this was really helpful as a starting point.
Consider myself to be a filthy casual. Never heard of Path of Exile before. But recently everyone is talking about PoE 2! Well I told myself: Power over Ethernet 2? I'm intrigued! So here I am.
Love your beginner's guide, very clear and easily understandable especially for a player who's never played POE or similar games. The game itself has very poor tutorials, very glad I came across your video! Keep it up bro!
Fun seeing a destiny youtuber i have been following for years cover my other hyperfixation of a game, played poe 1 since 2017 and have been hooked on it.
loved plating the first one when it came out years ago and have been keen as a can of beans when they mentioned they where working on 2, been loving every minute of it
We appreciate your video. My GF and I have been watching all the “beginner” POE 2 videos. We’re noobs but figuring out our guild, Guild Of the PoopButt.
And i also on my own figured out I can carry multiple weapons of different classes I chose the monk but I also have a bow and arrow that does fire damage so now I'm bonking up close and hitting with arrows from far away I love it
Fallout Plays, I'm a POE veteran and I just want to say that this was a really well thought out and executed video. Plus you gave me some trials PTSD just hearing your voice😂
I understand your new to Path as a whole and I love the investment you've clearly done to actually know what your talking about welcome and enjoy the game!!
Thanks so much for this vid, my friend recommended me to play this and it looks so cool but I had no clue where to start, thanks for getting me hyped for the game as it’s downloading 🙏🏻
Im currently trying out a monk-omancer build (monk with summons, currently two basic skellies due to lack of spirit 😆). The build is so so now but who knows, might be a winner further on 🙂
I haven't played poe2 but based on your vid guide you can respect ascedancy points with gold too :). as a poe1 enjoyer u got a great guide for newbies, deserve a sub. :)
Awesome video! It’s my first time playing POE and this was in depth, thorough and entertaining. I’m playing on console so the only thing I’m still trying to figure out is the different conditions for boss life bars (green vs red, bluish bracket on top and bottom that seem to be on a timer?). But this video definitely cemented the info I gathered while hovering over the info in game
The reason people say to save the orbs is because they are used as currency for the player market. Other than chaos and vaal orbs the others are generally easy to get.
For those new players i suggest u guy play POE 1 first and then decide whether u want to play POE 2 in early access as fir OE classes i will recommend to pick all the other classes except warrior (Armor need buff)
A comment on the well for refilling flasks. You can use the portal when fighting on the map to run to town and refill. It wont work when fighting bosses but can save you if you end up in a bad spot lol
I've been watching your videos for a long time. When looking at a new game, I search your name.😅 I played PoE one but it's been awhile so this video was super helpful
Good stuff as always man. Long time Destiny player and I'm loving POE2. Mercenary. I'm right at the Ascendency trial at level 22 just like you mentioned. Not sure where to go now to level up but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
When you beat a big area boss, make sure to advance and get the Waypoint after them before going back to town. Areas in this game are meant to be farmed so it resets every few minutes. I finally beat a boss that I had been struggling with with the help of a friend, then we ran back to grab an item for HIS quest and we went back and had to fight him again because we left the area without getting the waypoint in the new area.
I assigned my town portal to “t” in control options. It is unassigned by default. You can also run by any waypoint to refill your health/mana instead of going to town.
One thing you missed that will help for those that decide to stick with the game is the ingame shop to upgrade stash tabs and purchase specified stash tabs for Currency, Gems, Uniques etc.

@FinalFantasyXDen-br4to its really good. I have 3500 hours in POE 1, and this is VERY different than that. Thsi is what diablo 4 SHOULD HAVE been
Chill
Vendors refresh their inventory on level up, so when you level go back to town and see if they got some juicy stuff to buy.
Yes, yes, and yes!!! It's sooooo important to stay powerful throughout the game!
Is that the only time they refresh?
…always good stuff is for another class.

There was a slight mistake regarding Mercenary in the introduction, the projectiles don't travel instantly, they're just generally faster than arrows.
