XenoBlade Chronicles Definitive Edition, XenoBlade Chronicles 3 with Future Redeemed, Fire Emblem Three Houses, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden are In my Top 10 VideoGames of All Time
Thank you for this. I’ve been on a jrpg kick for the past 2 weeks, so this video came right on time. I’m currently playing Persona 5 Royal for the first time and I’m throughly enjoying the story, soundtrack and combat. It’s also my first persona game, and judging by my experience with it, Persona 3 Reload is looking like it’ll be worth a buy.
- I just bought triangle strategy but have yet to play it. - I want to get bravely default 2 as I thoroughly enjoyed the original - Ys 8 is the second Ys game I've played and I absolutely loved it. And I'm not even that big of an action RPG fan. - I've never played a star ocean game. - I haven't really been into fire emblem since Awakening. The while randomness of stat growth really bugs me. - I played Xenoblade 1 and wasn't a huge fan of the MMO style side quests. But 2 and 3 both look so good. I think I need to get back into it. - I played my first persona game this year, which was 4 golden on my switch. I loved it so much. Especially all the characters. - I'm not a Pokemon fan. Aside him Arceus the games is stuck in the 90s. They are painful to play for me. - DQ11 is the first DQ I've put a lot of time into and I got sucked in and loved it . - I played Octopath and I need to get Octopath 2. I would add sea of stars and rise of the third power as two of my favorite games on the switch
Nice list ! Xenoblade Chronicles and Persona are my favorite series. For my own list, I would add at your list Shin Megami Tensei V, Chained Echoes and The Legend of Heroes to replace Pokémon Legends, Triangle Strategy and Bravely Default. Special mention for Nier Automata, Ninokuni, live a live and Baten Kaitos.
I grew up playing RPGS BUT THE older I get the less I want to play them just cause of the amount of dialogue and text. I tend to skip most of the dialogue but then I don't even know what the story is....😂
xenoblade games are my fav,i'm playing dragon quest 11s currently first time , didn't the bravely default dude Tomoya Asano also make octopath too? i can't remember but i think i heard that somewhere, love those games BD is so underrated, really good breakdown of these games, fun vid thanks
Yo man, stumbled on your channel from browsing around lol. Excellent work my dude. Really well done explaining everything. Appreciate ya. Keep up the great work.
Nice video awesome list make one more top 10 JRPGs list and you will have a new subscriber also one of the biggest greatest JRPG fans ever me of course duh so obvious keep it up bro
You played Trails? For me one of the Cold Steel games would definitely be over any pokemon game even though i really like pokemon. Persona and Trails are just in a different class for me.
@slam-zany ah I see you haven't gotten to Cold Steel yet apparently! It's a little divisive but it's my favorite and it does seem to appeal to the general audience more kinda like P5. But honestly falcom just hasn't missed for me from what I've played so having a favorite Trails arc is just picking a favorite out from your other favorites lol
@@LordNovaPrime1I agree, so far my favorites in the series have to be a tie between the original Trails in the Sky and Azure. Both so incredibly well done!
@slam-zany they are really good. I can never decide between Cold Steel 1 or 4. I haven't played Reverie yet so I'm hoping I'll have a new favorite soon.
Any tips on where to start for new gamers of jrpg? All of them seems great but im having a hard time choosing, i have exp on fire emblem and pokemon and ff
I'm around half way through Star Ocean The Second Story R (I've just arrived on Nede), and I really like it but I don't think it's amazing as every says. It is a bit slower paced, and is a bit repetitive. The puzzles unfortunately show the age of the game. I also have never cared about replayability. When I'm done with a game, I'm done.
I´m still unsure if I should buy Xenoblade 1 and 2, I´m playing 3 right now and it´s great, but I´d rather buy the other cheaper games I haven´t tried yet instead of buying 2 more expensive games, yet I know that they´ll just get more expensive the more I wait so I´m conflicted here also yes, Octopath Traveler 2 was fantastic
@@nickwick35 I finished 3 and bought 2 which I´ll be playing after Octopath 1, I´ll probably get Xenoblade 1 later but I´ve hard it´s quite harder than the other two so I´ll leave it for last
@@r.a.fgattaiguy845 I thought Xeno 2 was the hardest to get into cause the combat whereas Xeno 1 gives a great tutorial but endgame bosses are PUNISHING. But as long as you play through them all, it's well worth it.
@@nickwick35 I was told 1 was the one that basically forced you to learn the combat system, and I don´t know if I can go through with that since even after beating 3 I still didn´t really know what I was doing
@@r.a.fgattaiguy845 1 is really easy to understand in my opinion. Its all about positioning and it’s easiest to use Shulk until you feel comfortable enough to switch but even then I’d used Shulk 98% of the game and only swapped out for tough bosses
Did I miss something or was the Trails series excluded from this list? With Trails from Zero, Trails to Azure, Cold Steel 3 and 4, and Trails into Reverie all on the Switch, there's no way none of these are included here, especially when Bravely Default 2 has a spot over them!
I love Trails as you know! Likely one of my favorite all time franchises. These games are mentioned in most of my lists but I wanted to shine some light on some games I felt catered best to Switch, and with Trails being a series that should be experienced from start to finish, I do feel disappointed that there’s some really important entries missing on the Switch console.
Any YT channels here that don't discuss Strategy RPGs? Can't stand them. Also thought Ys8 was good, not great, on the Switch. Bit like the game itself...
You can continue to tell yourself you enjoy playing these lengthy JRPGs sitting at a desk the entire time, and we’ll continue to pretend we believe you.

How long is a piece of string? Every person responding to this will probably just say their own personal favourite. Mine would be Xenoblade Chronicles. I love all three of the numbered games (there is also X which I can't comment on because it is only available on the WiiU). What sort of games have you enjoyed up till now? Do you like open world games? Or do you prefer a more linear, platformy type? Do you like strategy and tactics, or hack and slash? Do you like a deep story with lots of cutscenes? What about fewer animated scenes, but more text? Or are you mainly interested in combat?

Such a shame nobody mentions Valkyria Chronicles 4 on these lists, such an underrated game and one of my absolute favorite jrpgs on the switch.
I’m playing through Valkyria Chronicles 1 at the moment. It’s really good!! Looking forward to playing 4 later on too.

I really loved Sea of Stars this year. Amazing game. Definitely give Star Ocean Second Story R a go, it's really great!
Switch is an amazing system for rpgs.
no SMT5? I know the story and characters are underwhelming but the gameplay and OST are great
I agree! I love SMT V! I have it in my previous list of favorite JRPGs. Check that out on my channel if you haven’t yet.

Definitely could include sea of stars. But there's a bunch of games that could potentially be added so that could be another list lol

Ys VIII!!!!! 🎉 Love the list. Also huge shoutout to Bravely Default 2. Super underrated.

Bravely Def. 2 isnt all bad but i lost interest in the desert bec of the Heavy Grind. Also selled Ys 8 bec that Kraken was to strong.

Live A Live
Everything here minus Nintendo published titles also on Steam for PC. Even the Nintendo ones are possible but that's besides the point.
Good thing the title says “ on the switch “ and not “ exclusive to switch “
