Happy to say I've played most of these and the ones available on PlayStation I've platinumed as well. So many incredible titles in the best genre of video games! Great list as usual Slam Zany!
I don't even know where to begin with great JRPGs on the Switch as we're truly truly spoiled for choice there. I would have to put the Xenoblade series as #1 as you can only get it there, whereas a lot of these other games ARE on other systems. but man, sometimes it's so hard to pick up the Switch just because I'm so stuck on what to play as there's so much lol stuff I do wish was on the Switch: older DQs besides the ones we have, Muramasa and Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, Bravely Default and Bravely Second (shocked these haven't been ported honestly), Chrono Trigger obvs, Radiant Historia, Radiata Stories, Tales of the Abyss, Skies of Arcadia, FFT/A/A2. and they're not JRPGs but ooobviously Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. I think these games would make it legit perfect for me. I guess Xenoblade X but I'm not really invested in that one making it over.
True these aren’t in any ranking order. It might be impossible for me to rank all the JRPGs on the Switch haha. I would definitely agree with Xenoblade being the best exclusive JRPG without a doubt.
Yes Bro. Have every Game Physical at Home. Its a perfect Choose you made. But there are many Games more. Have near 200 RPG Games and the Switch is the Perfect Console to play it. At Home, in the Train, at Work, at Hollyday, and so on. I hope for more RPG Games on Switch 1 and New Games the next Years. Dont need a New Switch but i will buy one some Times. Triangle Strategy is so good. Really takes me back to old school tactics RPGs. I just got into Trails with Trails Through Daybreak (start at the beginning and don't do what I did) and now I've bought Trails in the Sky on Steam and bought Trails from Zero on Switch as well.
The switch definitely is the best in terms of originals + legit accessibility to classics. Originals alone, I can see arguments for SNES or ps1 for those who grew up with it, but yeah the switch is so amazing. I hope the next console is backwards compatible with all our physical games
Haven't played either trails on the switch because I'm still on sky third, but I can imagine they're both amazing. Sea of stars, rise of the third power, unicorn overlord, P4 Golden. Those would be some of my top picks off the top of my head
I have everything but 5 of them on this list! Great picks! Persona 5 Royal was my first entry into the franchise, but Persona 4 Golden definitely is a personal favorite of mine as well. The Legend of Heroes is for sure a long, but rewarding experience when one has time to play them all. Trails to Azure is no doubt my favorite so far, despite not yet finishing Cold Steel III and the sequels thereafter. :( lol It's too long of a series! xD
Great list! And any list with Triangle Strategy on it is already S tier. I agree the Nintendo Switch is definitely the best console for JRPGs to me. It’s where I really fell in love with the genre. The Xenoblade series is my all time favorite, with XC3 being my favorite JRPG of all time!
I would put smt5v above all The game has easily the most complex combat out of any game The massive skill selection allows to have different experiences
Nice list - thank you. Two Xenoblades made our '15 Must-Play RPGs'. Started well but P5R was a huge, interminable disappointment. 15 better games in our Must-Play RPGs!
It’s true my JRPG collection on the Switch is insane lol. Ys 8 and Xenoblade are my go-tos. Love the combat in those.
I like action combat as well. Xenoblade has that perfect balance of action and turn based feel. So different and I love it for that!
Ys 8 is really one of the best action JRPGs. I liked 9 as well!
